Eric did an awesome job on this video. He didn't try to make the beginning drummer feel stupid and explained everything well. It's crazy he made an entry-level Pearl kit sound great. Just goes to show it's the player more than it is the high-end gear. Also I don't remember my Pearl cymbals ever sounding that good. But I do remember they would bend not break. Lol I still had the high hats and the Crash ride forever till I finally gave them away to a kid learning to play drums
I remember watching this dvd when i received my first drumset for Christmas when I was 13. Best Christmas ever, I remember crying tears of joy. Good times.
My first drum set was a Pearl Forum kit in 1998. The sounds of the turning tension rods and the various clanks and clunks of the hardware are giving me wicked nostalgia.😣
First time i've seen this. I have been an Eric Singer fan since his Badlands days. I have been playing Pearl drums since 1991. Studio sessions #110 Sequioa Red! Love these drums!!!!!
I remember watching this while putting my first drum set together and being so excited. Very helpful and inspiring at the time! Thank you for uploading!
este baterista fue el primero que vi con doble pedal hace mas de 15 años y me hipnotizo y me influyo hoy ya uso doble pedal yo gracias por ese aporte !!!!
Excellent ! I watched, paused, and assembled. On my kit, Prior to assembly, I coated all chromed metal parts (the hoops, hooks, tension rods, tension casings, tom legs, rack tom mount) with silicon lube , or chrome metal polish. If you don't, plan on using a lot of steel wool years later. I found out the hard way.
Paul said it best when he said "Eric played like a monster". Please youtube Eric in action for Stanley's 1989 solo tour and look how he destroys the drums on "Tonight you belong to me". I love his cymbal work during that song and the way he's playing that ride is killer, that ping sounds crazy. A beast he is and a huge inspiration to all. Love you bro and great Pearl video too.... rock on 🤘
One of the great hard rock drummers in the business there's a reason why Lita Ford wanted him Gary Moore Black Sabbath Alice Cooper battlelands they are one Eric singer as their drummer kiss got him made him a part of the family they knew they was getting a top-notch drummer his drumming on Revenge Kiss Alive 3 and Carnival of Souls is just bad ass and he's been with the band over 20 years now
Man... I'm young (26) and still feel like everything was so much more simple back a 2 or 3 decades ago. Do they ship drumsets with a video like this? Not anymore. Sure, you can find everything on the internet, but it will take a beginner customer is significantly harder. Thanks for uploading this! I love how Eric got lost "playing time in the end" and started an epic solo instead... but what an instructor!
Eric Singer is a solid drummer and I have seen him with Kiss and Alice but I would like to have seen more on the rudiments because as well as timing it is the grasp of rudiments which sets apart good drummers from great drummers. Ask Anton Fig who incorporates some lovely fills on Ace's solo album as well as Frehley's Comet.
Eric has a great grasp on the rudiments and like you said is a super solid player in general, but I honestly think his playing gets a bit repetitive sometimes (especially in recent years w/KISS...).
My mother and older sister surprised me christmas morning of 2003 with a pearl fourm kit. I was years trying to convince my mother i wanted to play, but as a single mother it was just too expensive. Luckily my sister believed in me and convinced my mother to share the cost between them. I was absolutely blown away, speeches, and greatful! I watched THIS very VHS countless times. Always fast forwarding to the double bass sections lol Im happy to say im still drumming today with countless demos, two studio albums, Many many gigs, so many hours jamming, and a couple years ago my band was opening up for "Finger eleven", and "I mother earth". I gave my guest pass to my sister. I Couldn't of done it without her :)
& what's up with them cymbals? Can't be the econo ones Pearl used to make (sound too good) I'm guessin they stamped their logo on some better cymbs that wouldn't crack while he was playin em 😆
If only a Eric Singer 'how to assemble' came with everything that needs assembly. He needs a job with IKEA
What the f does that mean? Hello.
@@fostercat751 It means that Eric Singer does a great job at explaining how to assemble thing. Why are you being aggressive? Hello?
Eric Singer is always out there to help any beginning drummer. He is an awesome person, well educated on the drums.

I watched this over 100 times on vhs when I first got my drums this video came with them

Pat Torpey was on the video for Tama drums when you bought the kit
me tooo haha omg i was 7 and from austria. i didn’t understand one word. now i am a professional drum teacher 🥁
Me too 😂😂😂😂
Eric breaks it down to the novice level, without talking down or any air of betterment. He just wants you to be able to set up your kit and play.
I have this on DVD. All these years later it's great to watch. Eric is a beast.
Dave Casserly ABSOLUTELY!
Dave Casserly I have this on vhs!!
What year did this come out?
@@ciadella1971 Got the VHS with my Pearl Export in 2003

My first drum set was a Pearl Forum kit in 1998. The sounds of the turning tension rods and the various clanks and clunks of the hardware are giving me wicked nostalgia.😣
Dr. Drummer! His knowledge and talent, he's amazing.
I love his approach to drums. I'm a new fan of Eric Singer.
I got my kit when I was 12, I'm 28 now and I feel like I just re learned everything I know about drums and then some. Eric rocks!
I just watched this because I'm a KISS fan... I've had my kit setup for months. The tuning section was more detailed than the current pearl videos.
He seems to be a good guy..amicable and have the mood to explain step by step how to assemble the kit.
Eric is an stunning drummer. Damn good!
He is so organised and thorough. I'm not a drummer but I came here for him and I love the way he explains things.

That’s how it’s properly done. Bravo master
This is a piece of cake for me but it’s still cool to see that Eric likes to help the beginning drummers on how to set up and tune a drum set properly
Eric Singer Is My Favorite in the drummer
este baterista fue el primero que vi con doble pedal hace mas de 15 años y me hipnotizo y me influyo hoy ya uso doble pedal yo gracias por ese aporte !!!!

all I can think of is, wow! drum kits and drummers have come a long way since this
Awesome drummer !! All the best
Eric is such an awesome guy and drummer, met him when i was 19, and he's really chill
Very well explained the details of installing your kit, good job! :)
I had this on VHS many years ago
Went from beginner to stadium concert drummer in 30 minutes. :)
Wow, 23 years ago. Where does the time go?
His wife Erica Drummer is a good singer
Bahahaha. I'm dying man. Hilarious.

Flash back to my first ever drum set!
En av anledningarna jag valde Pearl, Tack! Eric, DW är för dyrt

A perfect introduction to modern drumset without "false note" or overtalk. Bravo!
Fantastic drumming.

Thanks again Eric
Eric Rules !!
This video is a total blast from the past!
I am almost 100% sure this video was shot at Sheffield in Phoenix Md.
I had this video when I started playing.
This guy is awesome. So much better than Peter Criss could ever be! Eric, you are truly a legend!
Love all of those floor toms
This old Export sounds very good :D

Time for a new DVD series featuring the 26 rudiments in detail.
I remember I had this video in a VCR/VHS 📼 back in the day.. what year? Not sure 😂
I love those tom sounds :)
Best drummer EVER!
acvillator no its Eric Carr hear Eric Carrs drumming.

Hi Eric
Okay beginner level drummers, play Eric's Drum solo at the beginning of the video.
Pearl Presents An Introduction to working as a Roadie Featuring Eric Singer
i had the vhs copy in 98 with a pearl kit
I have to buy a new pearl kit every few months becouse the keep catching on fire.
Val Kilmer on the drums
imagine seeing a blonde at a kiss show...

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My drum set is Tama , but I love Eric.. he´s the best !
my friend sarah would benefit from this video
24:07 yeah you're short, but I've seen the kit you play. You have your cymbals up 5 feet in the 3ft in the air from you
Very well done...
This helped me alot
I got this video with my export back in the day 🤣🤣
On vhs
Very good video for the debutants who want a Drum like me.
About one decade later and I still remember the paradiddle groove from this tape
dude i still remember it
Do I even need to go into specifics as to how much this video meant to me as a child who had just gotten a Forum Series? Wow.

Why is the hole on the bass drum cut in the center? I'm a novice drummer but I've always seen it cut around 7 oclock
Wer can i get this dvd
i just fell in love haahahaha
Amen
Why the hell am I watching this video if I’m not a drummer? 😅
why can I fined the DVD of this
Gotta buy a pearl set son.
Waite a minute. I'm still trying to get things together. Oh well.
plz subtitle!
ERIC TE AMOOO♥♥♥
Top notch drummer, in my opinion the best KISS drummer and a better drummer than both Eric Carr and Peter Criss.
It’s so weird to watch this when you know he ALWAYS uses Zidjan cymbals
Yes😂 at least he uses pearl drums.
thats how it sounds when i screw my tension rods in
& what's up with them cymbals? Can't be the econo ones Pearl used to make (sound too good) I'm guessin they stamped their logo on some better cymbs that wouldn't crack while he was playin em 😆
I should be paying attention to the drums, but I can’t stop staring at his hair for some reason. 😂
Buenas noches eric singer al igual que peter criss son grandes bateristas y son muy buenos y son profecionales mis respetos un saludo
Ele não tem a coragem de inovar e nem é tão rapido quanto o Eric Car, mas não deixa de ser um bom baterista😊
Wonder if Eric still sets up his own kit....
bog standard 80s double bass metal drummer
Great job Eric! Pearl drums are the best. Glad you did not say Pearl cymbals were the best. 🤣🤣🤣
Love Eric S but if this is an "Introduction" to drumming why's he paying rimmie's (snare), showing doub bass, & explaining diddle's (for a beginner?)
