    You three. Your amazing. But Kel is just amazing. Innocence, reveled, realized. It's pure. It's real. I'm touched. I feel it, for the first time again.

    A girl introduced me to Porcupine Tree's music about 12 years ago, I am still gobsmacked, in a good and grateful way, and my life just changed! I hardly listen to anything else no-more! Steven Wilson solo of course, have you done "Luminol?" Live in Mexico! GREAT! And I also followed Harrison over to The Pineapple Thief. Song to do from them must be "Tear you up " also the accoustic, gitar, Song, version. I do not think I ever will find a band that dethrones P.T and SW. EVER!

    I paused at 13:28 to write that if Larry plays drums it makes sense he would pick pretty much anything and everything from the two live Porcupine Tree shows, because of how brilliant Gavin Harrison is. Then I unpause and he goes on about him. Fitting :) I've had this dvd for over a decade and still go back to it every now and then, such a great show. I know one of the first reactions you guys ever did was the studio version of Arriving Somewhere, but I feel like you guys should now check out the live version from this dvd if you still haven't. It's just bliss.

    Don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but Steven Wilson is also a legendary re-mixer of albums made during the heyday of prog. Bands he's worked on include Yes, Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Emerson Lake and Palmer, and Gentle Giant. (He's also done some non-prog bands, as well.) The man has a fantastic ear for rebalancing sound and bringing out all the buried goodness in old recordings.

    I have a live version of this song where Steven makes a little speech at the beginning about what this song means. To paraphrase, it's basically their answer/response to stupid little boy bands and their love songs. So instead of a love song, they wrote a Hate Song.

    Three songs by Porcupine tree. I know what I'll be doing for the next hour. Been a fan for a long time. Steven Wilson is a brilliant composer. Gavin Harrison is a great drummer. He took over for Mike Portnoy for OSI, a Jim Matheos and Kevin Moore side project.

I never connected with D.T but P.T is one of my favorites modern rock bands and i say band because is no only about Steven Wilson or Gavin Harrison is about the Chemestry of all there ,Collin is great bass player very groovie and Barbieri is a master of soundscapes and ambient atmospheres , can you imagine P.T with out that sounds...

    Since you guys love Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree, I'll recommend you check out the band OSI. I requested them back when your channel was really new 😁 the song Radiologue is right up your alley. Kevin Moore (former keyboardist from Dream Theater), Jim Matheos (guitarist from Fates Warning) and Gavin Harrison (drummer from Porcupine Tree) make up the band in that song. It's awesome stuff.

    • @williambevins
      @williambevins 5 лет назад +1

      Love the OSI stuff. Mike Portnoy was the drummer on their first 2 albums. Kevin Moore is such a unique vocalist. When it comes to composers I think there is Jim Matheos, then Steven Wilson, then every one else. OSI stands for Office of Strategic Influence. Their first album is their best, an anti-war, concept album. Sadly, according to Jim, there are no plans for any more OSI.
