Earth Hole's arrangement sounds soooo similar to Bloody Tears, and yet is so unique at the same time! What a great soundtrack; obviously inspired by Castlevania, and yet brings so much to the table!
23:08 Water Gate is not just my favourite track on the OST, but one of the hardest I’ve ever heard. The bass drone, the escalating tones, the soaring melody, everything.
Can someone explain some of the synth/soundboard terms being used in the description and track listings? I tried Googling but it was so niche that I didn't get any good answers. What does "SSGPCM" and "no PPS" mean?
SSGPCM is a technique for playing sampled audio through the SSG channels, the AY-3-8910 backwards-compatible part, of the YM2608. Normally these channels can only output a simple tone at a configured volume level, but by very quickly changing the volume level you can play back low quality sampled audio. I believe PPS refers to the driver that actually does this on the PC98, but I am not an expert on the PC98 side of things (and there are many different drivers used by different games)
@@natarii Thank you! Also this recording is straight fire thank you for uploading. The sound coming out of that sound card is incredible. The bass really pumps.

Thanks. I wanted to do chapter tags, but YT enforces a minimum chapter length that is longer than some tracks, so it would have been messy...
Awesome work, thanks
bless for the DLs especially 🙏 only recently discovered Rusty and we fell in love with the OST. now to play and finish it proper
Man, all these old ass games I've never heard of or seen with amazing OST's, this is a certified banger
After so many decades Rusty is resurfacing again, our queen is back boyos

now i want a pc-98
... why bother? It runs very well on my modded PlayStation classic. I was blown away!

S tier ost
The intro hits hard. I went really emotional
god almighty, what a jewel
Wow, so many of these are subtly different than what I'm used to; it's so great to finally hear what these are supposed to sound like.
Awesome soundtrack that I never would have heard otherwise!
It's always good to have HW recordings, thank you.
You’ve ripped the soundtrack really clean! This is just as good as the one for the DOS version.
I ordered the expensive 2xLP vinyl of this OST because of you !
...you corrupted me :D
Wait, you can get this soundtrack on vinyl?! How does it sound and when did you get it?
Flac downloads made available.
Thank you thank you!
Wow. This sounds way better than any other version I've heard uploaded here. Great job!

I love the game and the music so thanks for sharing this.
Wow… Very interesting and great hardware!!! Good sounds.
Still the greatest clock tower stage theme of all time~
Thank you!
I wonder if you could build a similar system but small enough to fit in your pocket as a sort of PC98 "MP3" player
Thank you
Queen in The Dark Night is my favorite
very cool
Nice Track
Still a criminally underrated ost
Dude amazing fucking quality
I REALLY wish I could get my hands on these MIDIs... gahhhhh
You can download the same VGMs I played here from vgmrips.net

Tell me about it, those VGZs just sound straight up unfinished. I found the same ones for download online too.
