MegaGRRL Desktop + OPNA MegaMod. Rip originally done because none of them on RUclips had working SSGPCM, although that seems to have changed. Enjoy a hardware rip anyway.
Notes: I did some rough normalization, but this soundtrack is kind of all over the place with the audio levels. Some tracks are very quiet compared to others and I tried to mostly keep them that way as I assume it was the composers' intent. Also, I'm not able to add chapter tags to the video, as some chapters would be under ten seconds in length.

Earth Hole's arrangement sounds soooo similar to Bloody Tears, and yet is so unique at the same time! What a great soundtrack; obviously inspired by Castlevania, and yet brings so much to the table!
The intro hits hard. I went really emotional

... why bother? It runs very well on my modded PlayStation classic. I was blown away!
@@TexasHollowEarth the sound is not the same... PS Classic is fully digital. PC98 mostly used the YM2608 chip which sounded amazing. better than this rip imo

@@koiqueeen I think what he was saying was that if you play it yourself on a real pc-98 it sounds better than any rip can do justice to, which makes a lot of sense. It also makes me want to cry because I'll never have a pc-98

23:08 Water Gate is not just my favourite track on the OST, but one of the hardest I’ve ever heard. The bass drone, the escalating tones, the soaring melody, everything.

Can someone explain some of the synth/soundboard terms being used in the description and track listings? I tried Googling but it was so niche that I didn't get any good answers. What does "SSGPCM" and "no PPS" mean?
SSGPCM is a technique for playing sampled audio through the SSG channels, the AY-3-8910 backwards-compatible part, of the YM2608. Normally these channels can only output a simple tone at a configured volume level, but by very quickly changing the volume level you can play back low quality sampled audio. I believe PPS refers to the driver that actually does this on the PC98, but I am not an expert on the PC98 side of things (and there are many different drivers used by different games)

Multiple versions exist, some sound better than others. Can’t post the link to VGMrips without RUclips being a snowflake and deleting my comment for the 5th time. Getting very annoyed, sorry.
