Good to see work begin again on GABBY! I love living rural and taking my own trash. I take it a couple times a week so it doesn't stink up the garage. Can't leave cans outside because of critters.

Time does really fly. I love watching the kids put the ornaments on the tree. Our tree used to look like that but the kids have moved out and taken their ornaments to their own trees. So now I have the memories of our tradition of pouring a glass of wine and watching them decorate the tree.

Funny isn't what our γιαγιαδες say to us. Mine made a comment on my butt when I was in my early twenties. It was a relief and broke the silence after a about year of mourning (it was for someone who was just a child and her grandchild like I was). I'm glad to hear about your permits/inspections situation. I've always wondered but felt like it wasn't any of my business. I did a massive addition on my home in Colorado and had permits and inspections for EVERYTHING. Sadly, my late husband made one of the main inspectors angry so it was that much harder to get all the sign-off's. He nickel-and-dimed me pretty much to death on every little thing. I kept my husband away from him and was able to sort of make friends...finally got all of the finals done. OMG. You're so lucky.

Caution: Careful w/ the temp setting as some insurance policies require a minimum of 55 degrees setting for there to be coverage for a freeze and rupture of supply lines. It may be 45 degrees where the thermostat is but the exterior wall cavities with supply line will be much lower that 45 degrees.
