I remember doing this trip to the islands....I was not sea sick only sick when I see all the other people being sick....soon got over it thou...the islands are fantastic.
We sailed on the "Scillonian III"'s predecessor three years running in the late 1950's for magical Island holidays on Saint Martin's, and only on one out of the six voyages did we have a smooth crossing. Even the dog was seasick on one occasion!
@@cornwall9 I think so, this was a rather extreme situation, when we almost missed the "Scillonian" due to our inter-island boat from St Martins being delayd by a storm, whose effects we felt in rough seas and torrential rain during the crossing to Penzance. St Martins was a "paradise" for our dog, as well as us, during our holidays there.
@@jackwatsonepic626 My mum and I are like that when I was a kid. Dad and sister were knocked out with Gravol and nowhere to be seen and mum and I were always finding the highest point in a ship that could get to, snacking on something-or-other. She always said it was because of our Cornish ancestry. Maybe so. Sea sickness seems to be a deadly enough condition to weed out the weaker ones.
@@hughrainbird43 I reckon everybody should visit the isles of Scilly my favourite island was st. Agnes if you go there on a nice week ☀️ it's better than been in the Caribbean🏝️
It's more reliable in bad weather than flying. Flights often get cancelled due to fog. Only felt rough on this ship once, and that was due to a hangover. Take a Kwell or similar, you'll be fine!
Lovely old ship and certainly a better ride than on Condor Liberation.
