Those ground wires are deathly omg. Most annoying design. Grounding kit is A+

I never had an issue but tired of them so this is a good way to prevent any issues going forward lol

I went with the JD Eurosports GK, the connectors are identical to the OEM(the claim it’s OEM) and I routed the wires behind the coolant reservoir, try that, it’s much cleaner. BTW this is a most for the MQB platform, specially if you change the plugs often, like me, I go thru a set of Brisk on every oil change.

How did you know what kit version you need (4D0 / 8K0)? Is there a way to tell without pulling the connectors?

And the benefit of this kit is just so you don’t have to mess with the studs and wires on each coil every time when doing plugs? Or is there some other benefit?

Oem coils typically are the best in this application. Many people on built engines in the 600-700hp range with stock coils doing great
