Absolute magic how you're able to break down these mechanics into so many understandable steps and explain them so well. I am so freaking impressed, André!
just wow! i've requested this on the comments of 2 previous videos and now here it is! i've insta liked the video before watching it,everything is so well explained ...you're amazing and your channel its a super motivator to go deep dive into game development! Thanks and keep up!
Great to hear from you again! This channel is a MUST WATCH for every game developer. Thanks for your hard work and contribution for the entire scene! Um grande abraço!
Samyam rep'd this video didn't know it was 3 years ago though, man YT algo didn't love me. Still fantastic, the lack of showing explicitly how to do this helps me now appreciate how much I have progressed as a developer. I use godot but making this provided some powerful insight into exactly what I can do for managing my enemies.
These kinda videos make me cry. Cause it's so evident that you love what you're doing, you're enjoying solving creative problems and in the end it pays off so fucking much!
Dude....you're SOOO GOOD, this is an amazing portfolio as well. Please, don't stop making these videos, I'm learning soooo much and you're giving me a new perspective on a lot of mechanics, and I'm pretty sure everyone else thinks the same way. Looking forward to seeing all your projects in the future!!!
No words to describe such a good job. I am a mobile developer and I am really trying to enter the games world. It is fantastic seeing how the actions behind the scenes. Thank you, mate, I hope one day I can contribute to your incredible job.
My absolute favourite part is the counter system, if you get attacked by multiple opponents at the same time Batman can counter each of them in a way that makes sense. Sidestep the first guy, catch the leg of the second guy and flip him over, the quickly spin around to throw the stumbling first guy into the third guy. And it even incorporates the environment Batman can slam an enemy into a nearby wall or bang his head against a rail
ok, I'm only 2 years late to the party, go ahead you can continue making tutorial vids now! I randomly asked if there was a video like this on reddit and someone pointed me here, so glad I asked
Wow! I have been pulling my hairs out for the past few months to figure out the arkham style combat system. And you, sir, just made it look so damn easy. thanks for this! Subscribed.
Missed these! They really give you such a good appreciation for mechanics and features of games! Especially in this the camera change on the last enemy! Wondering, Shadow of War's nemesis system, could you recreate that? Or would Warner Bros hunt you down due to the patent?
While this is highly impressive...I would suggest for devs who want to add more layers and overall have a good code architecture in place, to have a finite state machine pattern running for the player. Awesome video!
I always like these videos especially to replicate the systems that means if anyone can make a make a combat system that means higher variety of games with special combat systems special abilities like superpowers and such
Thank you for the explanation and the files! Just discovered this channel and subbed immediately once I saw the quality and generosity of your content.
I've been looking for this but for Unreal 😭. This was still good to see hopefully through my journey of learning Unreal I can figure out how to adapt this concept for my own project.
I missed these, really cool episode bro!
Thanks Dani!!! I also missed working on these! Hopefully I’ll have more time to make more videos soon!
@@mixandjam Yeah man, would love to see more! Hope you find the time
Me too
@@Danidev waiting for new video but take your time :)
Look who developer of Muck!!
Absolute magic how you're able to break down these mechanics into so many understandable steps and explain them so well. I am so freaking impressed, André!
Can you make it full tutorial this project, iHeartGameDev?
I came here to watch this on my break from watching your tutorial haha
OK, now this tutorial is just solid gold. Absolutely amazing job!
It’s been a while!
Welcome back :D

Thanks Mace! This is a very requested mechanic but of course I always read comments and take into consideration every idea! Happy you like it!
Great video!
Idea for the next one:
The climbing in shadow of the colossus
Where are you man? Your channel is truly unique gem on its own!
You made the combat of one of the best video games all on your own, thought you'd be rusty after a few months without a video.
Great to hear from you again!
This channel is a MUST WATCH for every game developer. Thanks for your hard work and contribution for the entire scene!
Um grande abraço!
Been a little while but instantly pressed that like button before the intro jingle finished
But then when you finish the video and wanna click that like button you can't because it's already done

It's been a very long time since you posted a video, good to see you again
HE'S BACK 😍😍😍
These kinda videos make me cry. Cause it's so evident that you love what you're doing, you're enjoying solving creative problems and in the end it pays off so fucking much!
You're on a whole other level than the rest of us
I missed this series, it's so satisfying to see the logic behind a game system being broken down and recreated by scratch!
This was great! Love how smooth it all looked.
Dude....you're SOOO GOOD, this is an amazing portfolio as well. Awesome! Jammo's resume is amazing: superhero, ghostbuster, swordsman...
Dude, this is incredible! I love how you get the most out of Unity's features. 👏👏👏
This is amazing! Love the batman game series and glad to see the input system and cinemachine being used!
@The Aidency Hello!! 😁
I can't believe you finally did this! I have been commenting so many times asking for this. Thanks

Jammo's wake up todo list:
Violence
Violence
Violence
Violence
but glad your back hope to see more of you sooner than later :D
I waited for this moment my hole life
Maybe you could recreate the capture mechanic from Mario Odyssey
Make basic mario movent
Throw cappy
Check enemy tag / layer
Add enemy movement script over mario
Polish
Done
@@bezoro-personal tags are more simples also they don't require a lot of computing power as in scripts or names
Like a phoenix, he returns
Just the thing I was searching for.
This is insanely crazy! Thank you so much for this! I want to implement a similar system in my game and finding this video is a complete goldmine 😭
I love how strong the angry red glowing eyes read.
Wow! I've been agonising over how to do something like this for a while now. Thanks for giving me a spring board!
This is my favorite video so far. I've always wondered how this is done. You really make this seem so easy and simple. Whens your next vid?? 😀😀😀😀😀😀
Omg, the timing of this video getting uploaded is just perfect. Wanted to do exactly that combat
I'm so impressed at how you break down the challenge, not to mention your skills to bring everything together. Very inspiring.
My absolute favourite part is the counter system, if you get attacked by multiple opponents at the same time Batman can counter each of them in a way that makes sense. You're a real asset to this industry my friend. Glad to see you back (hopefully)
Most impressive.
I wish we had a proper tutorial like this for Unreal Engine 5.
ok, I'm only 2 years late to the party, go ahead you can continue making tutorial vids now! I randomly asked if there was a video like this on reddit and someone pointed me here, so glad I asked

In my recommend there was Just Cause 4 and maybe you MixJam guy, to do the grapple, glide and parachute.
A challenge with 3 mechanics
I can't believe how awesome this is!
Impressive I’d give this a shot
I was just thinking about an arkham unity game. Keep up the good work!
Missed these! They really give you such a good appreciation for mechanics and features of games! Especially in this the camera change on the last enemy!
Wondering, Shadow of War's nemesis system, could you recreate that? Or would Warner Bros hunt you down due to the patent?
They would totally hunt me down 😅
@@mixandjam not if we hunt them first?👀
(It's such a shame though, it's such a cool mechanic (in my opinion anyways!))
The animation of this is like Killer Bean if it was a Video Game
While this is highly impressive...I would suggest for devs who want to add more layers and overall have a good code architecture in place, to have a finite state machine pattern running for the player.
Awesome video!
so is Jammo's superhero name Jam-Man? Jamman? Mixman? what is it, andre i gotta know.
It's always a good day when M&J uploads.
Welcome back!
I always like these videos especially to replicate the systems that means if anyone can make a make a combat system that means higher variety of games with special combat systems special abilities like superpowers and such
I watch all your videos, they are very interesting and didactic. Congratulations !!! a hug from Brazil

Just amazing. I always like the way you explain and the topics you picked.
It never disappoint! Thank you Andre.
Holy moly
Can you make prey 2017 mimic mechanic like transforming the player to coffee mug or chair and move them
Welcome back! I missed these
Amazing!!! Pls make DMC5 style combat
The thing that hurts is this took you what seems to be a day, but as a 3d/2d artist this is going to take me months to figure out.
Amazing work! Really like the editing showing the codes for each section.
I would love to see a combat system like this but for a character that has super speed like quicksilver or the flash
i always wonder how they make assassin's creed climbing/parkour mechanism, if you can make a video about it that's gonna be awesome!
Welcome back ^_^
Mix and Jam
amazing, thanks a lot
Thank you so much!!! This is incredible 😭
This is so cool! Great source material for this game project I have in mind. Thanks!!
Great video. I'd love if you'd be able to recreate the functionality of Katamari, e.g. being able to roll things up and have them appear on the ball.
Fantastic recreation! I loved this video
Superb explanation. You are a great teacher.
Dude this was sooo awesome, Loved it!!!!
nice work
god job
i wish someone did this for ue5
You're a hero! Thank you for making such amazing content.
