Asylum is my fav game of all time...what a masterpiece.
It’s average at best
The Batman Arkham games were so awesome and fun to play and you felt like Batman with his Detective skills , combat , driving the batmobile , Detective crime solving and so on, you really felt like the Worlds greatest Detective 🙂. Rocksteady captured the feel and atmosphere of Batman and they have changed the Superhero game genre forever and how to make an awesome Superhero game .
Good analysis
Nice, this was such a great game. Plan on buying return to arkham or maybe buy the game on ps3. Depending on prices
Funny you should say that, this console bullcrap combat system is exactly why I dropped the game within the first 5 minutes.
A great game is one you can play 10 years later or longer. This is one of them.
It’s average at best
IGN is on a roll.. some really really good produced videos! In a sea of newscasts and reactions. This is refreshing
The dodge mechanic from Spider-Man 2 on the PS2 and original Xbox deserves some credit for inspiring Arkham's counter mechanic.
To be honest the arkham games took inspiration from resident evil 4 and insomiac spideman is just a copy and paste of the spiderman 2 game.
@@saadkhan-hx4tr their older games used this mechanic before residents evil 4 that normal as every games borrows from other games
@@oscaroska7613 What older games used it?
Nope didn't take anything from Spiderman.
@@baki484 it did. Detective Mode from Arkham also worked exactly like Spider Sense from Spider-Man 3 on PS3 and 360. Look up the gameplay videos. Particularly one where you do a photo mission and you use the Spider Sense to look for lizard trails.
what a gem of a series, the arkham games are my favourites, atmosphere, combat, story wise, it's a shame the new gotham knight butchered the excellent combat system the series had with skills and whatever..
different series, different combat
Plenty of games have better combat
@@Jjcbgoat and worse story, atmosphere, graphics, the arkham series is the most balanced out one imho
@@Superdazzu2 lol please the games have average at best writing and outdated graphics
It makes you FEEL like Batman
Rockstady did a great job
Then WB Montreal come with BA Origin
So this has been released because of how disappointing Gotham Knights combat is, right?
Combat animations were mostly hand keyed, not mocaped.
it was a combination of the two, they mocapped the base animation then adjusted and improved as needed afterwards
If Gotham Knights has a binding to the Arkham series, I will critique those in the comments section anytime I feel wize to yo
Great series well maybe not Arkham knight,
I hate that game but love the rest especially Arkham Origins and all its faults.
sleeping dogs combat is way better than the arkham games .
They did some really cool stuff, but it all started somewhere.
Nah
It's actually not which is common for most systems trying to copy it. Sleeping dogs has elements batman took from it the environmental finishers so we have a case of mutual inspiration. Both systems are satisfying but arkham just edges it out. Being the originator and all.
The arkham fangirls won’t like this
I love the free flow combat but my issue with it and most games like it is that it feels automated
As for the games I liked Asylum and Knight the best. Knight for me is a tad more enjoyable actually tries to add something to movement outside gliding and the grappling hook. Even pre Arkham games had Batwing and Batmobile segments to try and spice up combat. Not being able to control the Batwing and Batmobile is a nitpick I had with post Asylum games till Knight
This is a direct indirect at the dissatisfaction of the Gotham Knights combat system LOL
Lmaoo i love how they happen to make this video only a few days before Gotham knights release 😂
Its because the combat is Rythm Based , its like dancing on the right beats of the song.
There was a Jet Li game a while back ago with the same mechanics, I think Arkum just has a better story and graphics for the time
You're seriously gonna devote a whole section to the games influenced by Arkham's combat system...without mentioning its best iteration since?!?!
SPIDERMAN YALL. C'mon; I'm stuck in a restaurant job; yall get PAID for this!
this series has no fight mechanics at all. they are all cinematics with time-tap
literally lmfao
its not a parry its a counterstrike a parry is what Geralt does in witcher 3 or Arno in ac unity its logical that batman won't parry but attack in defense get it cause he is Batman
Arkham Origins had the best combat out of all of them in my opinion. It seem tuned better and had a higher skill ceiling
I'm sorry but I disagree.... this is just a button masher lol there's nothing fantastic about it.... literally Xplay and every other early 2000s game review show literally blasted dynasty warriors for having the same system. Button mashing.
Oooh bad timing guys
Imma be real. I love the arkham games to death. Been playing since I was 6 years old. But it just does not have the best combat system. I think there are so many games out there that have great combat systems. So to say that this series has the best is a little on the nose.
I give this video an IGN 7
Rocksteady needs to come back to make a proper court of owls game... I'm just saying...
I think the combat is peak in City
It struck the right balance in city
Nope, Knight is peak. Batman’s brutality in that game was on a whole different level and it takes Citys slow attack animations and has quick counters and offensive strikes cause the number of soldiers and thugs u fight in knight is even greater
@@JJS595 that's true narrative wise batman it was stated that the previous batsuits were restricting especially in city. Knights enemy types were more diverse.
@@JJS595especially when you uses batman beyond skin, you feel like a boss battle
