Thank you so much! I like to focus a lot on the polish section of the development because I do believe that's what makes most games stand out and offer a unique experience, so I really appreciate you pointing that out in the comment!
@@mixandjam It is super useful but I just popped into a problem of mine What if I had multiple arrows directed at the enemy, but my enemy dies between two arrows and get destroyed. The following arrows would get no collision and would spin infinitely around the origin. To fix this I should set the lifetime of the particle, according to the initial velocity and distance but I have no idea on how to calculate this. Any ideas?
Hey so nice to see you back with such an unexpected mechanic. Very well executed by the way, loved the trick for the arrow precision. And thanks for the mention! 💙
Man, I am just at the beginning of my gamedev journey, and I love seeing you has out these demos of mechanics. You do a wonderful job showing how you break things down so it feels more "digestible" and makes me feel like i could do something similar someday! Thanks for sharing this with us!
It's funny how I was rewatching some of your videos 2 days ago and now you're back. Great to see. I have a lot of ideas on directions for my games and some I find again in your videos. So even though I won't use Unity, these in-depth recreations definitely are helpful guides in terms of understanding the basic foundations of different game mechanics.
I was overjoyed to see a new Mix & Jam video--one of my favorite RUclips channels. This Pathless mechanic was really cool! I really like how you reuse assets and code from previous projects. I think it's very important for amateur game developers to understand how crucial it is to reuse previous work, even if it needs tweaking. This is what major studios do ALL THE TIME. Also, I love how you give credit to other creators, such as the SketchFab assets you used. Creators supporting creators! 💪🏻
Welcome back! I've stopped my gamedev journey for now but I'd still like to repeat my request for Snake Pass gameplay recreation. No one else seems to have done it at all.
That's good, it had been a long time since the last video, thank you very much for your tutorials, you learn a lot with your projects, you are the best
I love these videos...like for real I always get so excited seeing what amazing ideas someone can implement with a realtivly small amount of work. It just shows that all the tools you need for your ideas are already there and only your creativity is the limit. Keep up the great work and thanks :)
Wow, that radial velocity on the particle systems is such a nice trick!! Amazing video as always, its been while, glad to see you're still making quality content!
I got into game development recently and this video is just fucking amazing. It basically explains everything that matters in a smooth and concise way.
It’s been a very long time since you published a video! Can’t imagine my surprise when i got the RUclips notification! Amazing content as always! Looking forward to more videos, hope it’s doesn’t take as long.
Man, you're a gem, you make such complex gameplay easier, Please make more and more such videos. Also, any chance to make tutorials on the combat system
An absolute joy to see you with another video! For my next game project, I want to get more into flow and responsive gameplay feedback, and your videos are always an impressive reference for how to juice up even the earliest prototypes.
Welcome back André, missed you and your awesome content! :) Also, I love the idea of instead of creating some ballistic system you used a particle system and that you move the particle emitter origin with negative radial velocity to make the shot appear successful! Very neat!
This is so fkin cool dude! What a unique mechanic they have and you replicated it in such a nice way with the particle system based arrows, I would love to see the wolf transformation from the legend of Zelda twilight princess if you ever have the time!
You have no idea how much I missed you! No other game developer makes polish look easier than you. So talented!
Yeah!
Me too

04:41 okay I didn't know you could set a negative radial velocity to make something go toward its origin, that's REALLY cool.
Glad this is useful, I use this technique quite often!! Super useful!!

@@floko95 you can also destroy the particle based on the distance from the object if you look at it that way!! 😄
