GoW dev team: alright, we’ve got a full suite of animators, artists, and coders working on this mechanic. Mix & Jam: lol, so imma make this thing for fun.
I'm subscibbed to more than 1k channels, and I can say that you're probably the one that inspires me the most, one of the best creator if not the best I'm subscribed to, keep up the great work, you actually deserve way more attention, well edited and really easy to understand
You should make a basic vs horde styled example game, but with all of the different unique attacks you've done to show off what you could do if you had the iconic attacks from all these games
I just subscribed to your channel after I watched 4 of your videos. So, far you are one of the best tutor here who explains how it was done, additionally I liked that zooming.
That is amazing, great job. According to Cory Barglog, It took 3 years to for Santa Monica's studio to figure this out but I assume they mean all the other axe attacks and animations.
Very good tutorial/explanations. Not too complex not too simple - for a guy like me who knows the basics and doesn't need more than one sentence to remind what's happening is great. Keep it up. A note on video title - it should include that you are working with Unity. I was sceptical of clicking at first because I didn't know what this was about.
Nice and what may amaze you is that this was coded by just one engineer. In fact George Maul did all the weapons in GOW! Also the sound design on this thing is adaptive to last as long as it needs to when returning. That means that it will always play the catch sound for the perfect amount of time.
Awesome awesome awesome awesome . OMG first unity video I saw in ages which is short sweet and informative. I like the concept of narrating the approach rather than code by code 1 hour video. Super awesome man. Kudos!! ; )
Thanks so much for your GitHub repository. Finally got a good camera system to go with Cinemachine. Used some of your code as reference and it helped a lot.

Your work is impressive! Please please make a video on replicating Batman Arkham Knight Free Flow Combat System, I've been waiting for ages for something similiar.
Wow, I love your video, very educational. It took me a week to make a unit formation control depth and width of the Total War game series, but I didn't succeed. I hope in the future you will make a video on this topic. Thank you.
please make some uncharted cinematic fighting scene switch between gameplay and cinematics (fight scene or cutscene for jumps from building etc ) or some stylish combat system like devil may cry

Really enjoy that you explain your steps, watching people make things is fun but some people like to know the nitty gritty, thank you.
It took the developers of GOW 4 fuckin years to perfect this shit... And you did it just like that man. DAaammmMN 💥💥. They should fuckin hire ya
Awesome use of the animation event! That's really useful.

i would love to see destructable limbs made for a survival game, as in losing an arm or a leg even as detailed as a hand or foot.

Why im I just discovering this channel now? Great stuff
It’d look even better if you made the shoulders and torso twist slightly when impacted by the returning axe
Kratos is too shredded to receive impact :^)
Why not make it yourself.

Nice work dude, on the return path, I had the axe blend into it's 'held' pose from a spinning animation so the transition feels a bit cleaner

Great. You made a game.
Replace the axe to a giant hammer , the result is Thor's Mjolnir
Mjolnir doesn't spin though, nor does it arc when returning.
