In my opinion, his best performance. He took it at the right tempo at the beginning and had accelerated at the perfect time for the Climax, and his technique and musicality is flawless in this one. Beautiful :D
vi muchos videos de jake tocando este tema y siempre los toca con alguna varacion, este chavon es un genio la verdad. ademas del sentimiento q pone al tocar. muy bueno :)
Concert ;) I have played this song before and if it was a tenor, the intro would have two of a same on different octaves, as you play it on two strings. This song was made for a concert 'ukulele.
Jake plays a custom Kamaka tenor ukulele, and uses D'addario J71 strings. Casey Kamaka custom made Jake's tenor uke for him. Having seen him live, I can tell you that Jake is even better in person. He's an incredibly humble, genuine guy.
@ROBEEAQUIN0 actually Clapton was the uncredited session guitarist on the album and while Harrison certainly wrote it and performed it beautifully the famous solo and performance on the album were clapton backed up by Harrison
I played guitar for almost 20yrs before picking up a Uke, I feel really lucky to have only spent a few hours learning this tune and now can whip it out on people ;) It's interesting how easily stringed instruments translate.
Concert has a base pitch difference, but the string tuning is the same. The tenor ukulele, on the other hand, has a base 4th string (the order goes from 4-3-2-1.) So in a way, only the tenor is the same as the guitar.
@TheOrangePoet the ukulele isnt "completely" different from a guitar.. it is quite similar actually... i play ukulele and because of that..i can easily play a classical guitar
Your question - or guess, is correct - it's a tenor. I've busked with this uke many times - been arrested many times ... the charge? ... impersonating a musician. Whilst in jail I've been jamming - and hope oneday to play as well as Jake ... holdest not thou breath. lots of love, George Harrison.
@sweetpoppawillydear i attempted it on guitar (not that good tho) check it out in my vids, my guitar was heaps low tuned cos the tuning panels were broken
Well he could be. Taimane was his student, she moves a lot on stage too. She said when she was young and jake was teaching her, he was always super enthusiastic and all over the place
And You know this HOW? Guess you've never seen Joe Cocker, Ian Anderson, Mick Jagger, Buddy Rich, Itzak Perlman, and I could go on!!! When you can Play like him - come back and speak to us!! Sorry - Get Over It!
He's a great player and all but it looks like he's creaming his pants when he plays, idk if that's on purpose or if he really feels the music that much
@ROBEEAQUIN0 wow that guy must be living under a rock if he doesnt know george harrison is. smh, not knowing any classics and only knowing justin bieber. shame how our generation doesnt know what real music is.s
Jake's version never gets old. I've seen many different Jake-versions of this and love them all. He is a one and only.
I think he literally just showed us his soul through musical expression...utterly blown away.
There will NEVER be anyone better than Jake. He was the first man to make the Uke go toe to toe with the Guitar in rhythm and feel. ❤😊
In my opinion, his best performance. He took it at the right tempo at the beginning and had accelerated at the perfect time for the Climax, and his technique and musicality is flawless in this one. Beautiful :D
BTW I also did a cover of this arrangement
THANKS JAKE, it's soothing and sustaining for my spirit while I get through cancer.
Good luck to you!
New Facade stay strong!
New Facade wish you the best!
New Facade god bless

I am now in love with the Ukulele!
Never gets old 4:30 on is F N INSANE!!!!!! This is so inspiring
Wonderful.
His confidence is so much better than a 2006 recording I saw of him doing this song. Exquisite rendering.
my mouth open wide in awe for the whole sesh of the frickin solo
Jake is the gold standard of ukelele players!
Didn't know a ukulele could b played these good until I saw these! Tooo good
もう、泣くー

Amazing
Owl at Purdue brought me here. I'm glad it did
Soul music of the 21st century
I love the guitar/uke face.... Just perfect!!!!
Very stunning
@killertemper He has over 6 million hits on another clip. Jake, you are so awesome! Thanks for sharing your gift!
Nice!!!
Absolutely brilliant! I am deeply touched!
Jake really makes love to that ukelele
Jake plays a custom Kamaka tenor ukulele, and uses D'addario J71 strings. Casey Kamaka custom made Jake's tenor uke for him. Having seen him live, I can tell you that Jake is even better in person. He's an incredibly humble, genuine guy.
The J71s are still so goood
my faborite song the best player uk wooooow!
What an awesome performance Jake! Thank you for sharing it on YT.
Very good!!!
Thank you Jake you make the ukulele sing! Bless you!
@ROBEEAQUIN0 actually Clapton was the uncredited session guitarist on the album and while Harrison certainly wrote it and performed it beautifully the famous solo and performance on the album were clapton backed up by Harrison
@killertemper I completely agree agree with you ! He is incredibly emotional !
never realized the uke's potential until now.
I played guitar for almost 20yrs before picking up a Uke, I feel really lucky to have only spent a few hours learning this tune and now can whip it out on people ;)

+Kung Fu post your version?
Espectacular!

I am a man, but I have to admit that I love him.....
@TheOrangePoet the ukulele isnt "completely" different from a guitar.. it is quite similar actually... i play ukulele and because of that..i can easily play a classical guitar
@sweetpoppawillydear it has been done on guitar. By a guy named George Harrison. From the Beatles. Where do you think Jake heard it from?
I can't believe people don't know this guy. He's way too skilled to be in the shadows.
genial
i like you cover
Holy crap 😱 this guy just played a movie soundtrack
@jbr020 very true. awesome beatle fact
12 people misclicked
Do you dislike ukulele's or you just didn't like the overall sound? I thought is was awesome.
HONTONI...SUBARASHII...BEAUTIFUL...
Is that a Concert Ukulele? I'm trying to decide what size I want to start on.
that's a tenor
I've started from soprano sounds very cute =)
@ROBEEAQUIN0 On the popular album version, Eric Clapton played the guitar. Harrison wrote the song.
CHAPEAU !
from hawaii.
@metalhead0208 It's a tenor uke. Same pitch, more range.
What key does he play this in?
Even though it has only four strings it sounds very-very nice.
(bow) !
19 people are guitar players
Skills.
Unbelievable
He is really cute
I should of asked Santa to get me a Ukulele for Christmas : /
its a ukelele tenor?
yes
@ROBEEAQUIN0 It has been done by Guitar....but not like this. Jake's interpretation is completely unique comparative to a cover and much faster.
0 haters :O
A little kid named Sean song copied this exactly and Is taking credit for arranging it.
Except Eric Clapton provides the uncredited guitar work on the Beatles version...
Eric Clapton played lead on that track. George wrote it.
I know him
Harrison (Geo.) never had so much soul. Jake rocks!

I know he's god level, but there is absolutely no way he is this fucking dramatic when he's alone practicing.
Would you prefer musicians to stand as still as statues when you go see them perform?
I'm not saying he's gotta be still, that's the other extreme end of the spectrum, I'm saying his movement is ridiculous here.
Ah showbiz....close your eyes and listen....(but I know what you mean).
Well he could be. Taimane was his student, she moves a lot on stage too. She said when she was young and jake was teaching her, he was always super enthusiastic and all over the place

the ukelele started to scream at 4 min onward..
he's a good dancer. joke ✌
its a tough business...
He's a great player and all but it looks like he's creaming his pants when he plays, idk if that's on purpose or if he really feels the music that much
@Railskunk136 everyone is better that justin haha
@ROBEEAQUIN0 wow that guy must be living under a rock if he doesnt know george harrison is. smh, not knowing any classics and only knowing justin bieber. shame how our generation doesnt know what real music is.s
son, unfortunely nowadays the most important thing in the music industry is the image not the music...Too much BLING, little music =/
Technically impressive. Musically awful.
