Because THE BATMAN is goofy as hell. And is built for some fantastical gothic horror stuff. Nothing about a world perpetually raining and overcast days reality to me. The movie feels like it comes from a Grant Morrison comic book (or at least straight out of the animated series). And those things never felt out of place when bro had to fight THE MAN BAT or something. Give us MAN BAT, Reeves!
The Batman was kind of grounded. It was about as grounded as The Crow with Brandon Lee. To be honest, I’m sick of “grounded” or based in our reality Batman. Come on guys, give us something fun and different. I would be totally fine with a gothic, supernatural, horror influenced detective story. Nobody really wants Batman to feel 100% realistic and believable.

Let Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson cook. They are literally the best iterations of the mythology ever put to screen. And it’s not even close. I say that having loved Tim Burton’s original Batman and loving the Christopher Nolan trilogy, but as faithful to the source material first and foremost I have to call a spade, a spade.
Some people have this weird thought that fantastical means goofy. It just means fantasy like in the Arkham games and comics where Batman performs superhuman feats with crazy gadgets and fights like super ninja. Making Batman fantastical like he is doesn’t mean removing the dark and grittiness of the character and turning him campy.
Winston is spot on about Seven and Freemans narration. Leads to one of my favorite ending lines in a movie. The world is a fine place and worth fighting for. I agree with the latter part of that statement.
Maybe Holland is shooting something for Daredevil: Born Again. Matt Murdoch did appear in Spiderman: No Way Home, so he may be returning the favour. Also, if Spiderman is a street level hero now, a teamup with ol' horn head is understandable and certainly happened in the comics.
I really like the idea of the Court of Owls because it also gives Reeves the opportunity to showcase Pattinsons Bruce Wayne more. The first film was about him becoming a hero as batman, the second can be about him becoming a hero as Bruce and the third marries both
I do wish the Matt reeves’ ‘The Batman’ universe would so some form of fantastical elements. Like Id love to see his universes version of man bat ( played by Doug Jones of course) because I think his universe would suit that transformation being more disturbing and violent almost like a man bat ‘American Werewolf in London’ type practical transformation… stuff like this being more adult and intense… but a man bat character being the one that absolutely pushes it to the limit or even breaks that universe reality rule yknow and it does seem like from his words he kind of will but he’ll change it and morph it to fit his grounded world so there won’t be a gigantic dude completely made of clay or poison ivy controlling building sized plants etc but will pick and choose ones they can that will fit
Feels too early for the Court of Owls. Bruce hasn’t been shown as a fully established seasoned veteran hero yet. I feel like Court of Owls would be a good third movie antagonist that is introduced at the end of the second movie.
Guys, the COO is still only a rumor/theory. You're treating it as though it's a definitive thing at this point. It certainly feels quite likely, granted. Just don't get your hopes too high cuz it'd be a longer way to fall.
The COURT OF OWLS story line is great idea but I think it works best with an older BATMAN who's been at it for at least 10 years. You can easily make it a 2 part story but definitely an older BATMAN who finds out the complexity of how and why he's been "swimming in place" no matter how much, how hard and how long he's been fighting crime.
@@ghostmkc4045 I have read Scott Snyder's New 52 BATMAN run and am a proud owner of the 2 omni's. If I remember correctly he had been BATMAN for about 5 years in the story. I might be wrong its been a while since I've read it. I guess you obviously didn't notice in my original comment when I said "I think it works best".
Also, court of owls has a lot of potential. It’s one of the first modern Batman stories that’s actually a classic. It’s about a secret society and Gotham that wear owl masks, very eyes wide, shut type vibes, so right there you have a detective story with a secret society that runs Gotham from the wealthy and the elite And ties into modern conspiracy culture, they wear owl, masks, and they have ninja assassins called talons, which would allow for awesome action scenes
The funny thing ppl always bring up about Pattinson’s Batman is that he’s kind of a shite detective. La Rata. Bro couldn’t deduce FALCON (FALCONE) from that lol.
I'm just as excited as Winston for the Court of Owls AKA: The Owl Foundation hahaha. This has me super excited for this next the batman movie. As far as the Tom Holland picture, I'm gonna be the odd man out and say it's Uncharted 2 but that may be a long shot. Great show today!
I don’t understand why people are still confused about how Bruce found that fingerprint in The Dark Knight. It’s not confusing. He just reverse engineered how bullets shatter so he could piece a puzzle together and see the completed picture.
Give me Court of Owls, The Talon, their element for control and order and corruption AND chaos and unpredictability of Keoghan’s Joker (he’s already teased to be in ) juxtaposed in same film. Even if background. How Court would deal with him, Bruce/Batman having to deal with both sides of it.
I think Brolin will do a great job if he’s cast as Hal. I also think that John Krasinski or James Marsden could also do well too since they’re also over 30 yrs so they could be good options too if they were considered.
I kind of hope that if The Penguin is a limited series (a one and done) that after The Batman 2 & presumably The Batman 3 we get unique spin-off shows or limited series for 3 different villains in total to bridge each movie. The Penguin, Scarecrow, The Joker (Barry Keoghan) - upon a re-watch on HBOMax in future years it will appear as a larger pocket universe (Sopranos/Wire vibe shows) than just a trilogy of movies. As soon as they are finished, they should introduce James Gunn Batman into the DCU which admittingly will come much later than people are expecting but will keep the focus on Superman and other heroes & stories James Gunn is trying to tell. He doesn't need to rush Batmans DCU appearance as it will definitely be more fantastical than the take that Matt Reeves is taking. I do hope he casts Alan Ritchison, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jensen Ackles or maybe even Alexander Skarsgård. They will all probably be much older then (2029+, post The Batman 3) but I'm still betting they will be the best casting decisions then.
I feel like we should feel influences of the Court Of Owls presence in the second movie and they then should be the villain in the third and final film.
Hoping the Court of Owls isn't too similar to all the shadowwy corruption we already dealt with in The Batman 1 with the Wayne Foundation. Also we JUST had a trilogy of super grounded reality Batman with Nolan's movies, I was hoping Reeves' movies would get a little bit wacky.
Could Tom Holland just be shooting a post credit or final scene in Fantastic 4. It’s the movie that is shooting right now and Peter could be interviewing or interning with Reed or maybe meeting Johnny for the first time as they’re good friends in the comics. Spider-Man has always had a close relationship with the Fantastic Four sometimes being a 5th member or a replacement.
"What was important to me was to find a way to take these pop icons, these mythic characters that everybody knows, and translate it so that Gotham feels like a place in our world," he added. I don't understand this obsession with keeping Batman realistic and grounded when it takes place in a universe that's anything but that. Comics have always had grounded and fantastical elements existing together. There's no reason why Reeves' Batman can't be in the DCU. If Spider-Man 4 doesn't begin production until next year, then he must be working on something else, probably a cameo in an MCU project of some kind.
I’m not too concerned about Joker 2 reviews. Critics seemed to hate the first one and the average moviegoer seemed to really enjoy it. Plus, it’s a musical and most musicals have a poor story.
I don't think Joel Edgerton is interested in playing a superhero, I remember listening to some podcast a few months back and another actor recalled a conversation they had with Edgerton when he was just starting out in Hollywood and he said something along the lines of "I just want to make it through here without putting on a pair of tights"

I’d bet Tom Holland is shooting a Super Bowl commercial! They film those things way ahead of time, but definitely not Spider-Man related
You didn't cover the Creature Commandos news 😢
Didn't the Court of Owls comics storyline include Damien Wayne? Or maybe that was just the animated movie
