This is my favorite pocket knife design of all time. I just bought this limited 710 and love it, it's my fourth 710. 25 years ago, my first 710 had D2 steel and was a workhouse for 10 years or more then I got one with M390 steel and blue handles, super nice, next was a gold class with Damascus blade and carbon fiber handles, that is my favorite folder of all time and used it a lot, now with this new now with Magnacut steel and great feeling handles, I couldn't be happier with it. Someone at Benchmark deserves a raise for bringing the 710 back in production. I have over a hundred nice folders, if I could only keep one of them, it would be this new 710 or my gold class. The size, blade geometry, length, weight and good at so many tasks including self-defense. The price seemed high 25 years ago at 175 but once I owned it and used it for awhile, I couldn't imagine not having it to work with everyday, that's why I keep buying them, to use, not just to look at like a few of my knives. BTW, that 175 would be about 400 or more today, right where the production 710's are today but now they have way better steel with s90v and Magnacut so it's a good deal for a quality blade. Good tools make me money so I don't worry too much about price.
I love the 710, but at these prices (or even $400 for the base) it insane. Was hoping they'd bring back the Ares or AFCK, but now i wouldn't get one if that's what they're asking.
Awesome looking knife! I still have my 710 in black D2 blade bought from Midwayusa on a Christmas sale almost 8 years ago. Took out the backspacer and installed blue standoffs from MXG. Love the black and blue contrast on the knife. Had several friends offering to buy it but it's a keeper and will remain in my collection. Would love to have this 710 but price is a little steep. It’s a nice knife, I don’t mind the stainless liners but it would’ve probably looked better with a more subtle finish even if they were trying to make apparent the full liners. Will the production model have the same handle milling with the lines and dimples? Thanks for the video, Zach.
I'll try picking one of those on the secondary when the hype dyes down. The price is quite a bit way out there. Your right, that cf mini adamas is a better buy for the money. Folks thought the recent release of the Slysz Bowie was crazy high at $450. 🤷 It's the butterfly tax, and I'm a butterfly fan. Thanks for sharing.

I really like this knife. I can't be mad at Benchmade, considering they are selling out at their chosen price point. For me, there are some many really great knives in that range that it's hard to get around to ones like this.
I love the design! I'd like a satin blade. I'm good with g10 or aluminum scales. And I'd bite the bullet for $300. But $600?! You can get the 940 custom with titanium AND Damascus for $650ish on their site!
I like the 710 Gold Class a lot more yeah it's a lot more money but if I was going to get one I would bite the bullet for the Gold Class it looks way better. Thanks for sharing Zach

There prices are just too much on there newer releases there cutting a lot of people who wants a benchmade out because they can find something just as cool and American made out there there’s way too many other options out there.I know they will still have the die hard that have to have them but there cutting a lot of people who have never owned one and want to but will choose something else because of the price and I want everyone to experience a Benchmade there great. My problem with even version from benchmade is pricing. But base grey aluminum version is still going to be $405 at retailers and that’s asking way too much. It’s definitely not on par with what Hinderer or even Chinese makers like reate give you for that price. If I’m wanting American made, in that overall shape and with premium material, I’m going to grab my eklipse every time. It socks because I’d they were asking around $300-350, I’d look into one. I absolutely love the design overall.
I love the Benchmades I have and want so bad to buy more .....but they are Pricing me out .....the milling on the handle is nice but its aluminum ....and Magnecut sure but 600??? seriously I'll stick with my Magnecut Hogue deka for 150 with some OG Scales.
I hate how this $600.00 Benchmade 710 has an FDE PVD coated blade!!! Why, because in my opinion, that PVD coating makes the new 710 look a bit cheap😬 I also hate that it comes with a stock Benchmade pocket clip!!! I recently bought a Microtech Socom Elite made in 02/2024($325.00), and it has a natural clear finished aluminum handle with an apocalyptic finish on its blade, on all hardware, and the pocket clip. So this entire Socom Elite has finishes that were designed to hide scratches and look cool👍
@@J_DuB27 yes. Most coatings are applied with high heat which acts like another temper cycle and reduces the hardness of the steel, unless you take that into account like say Rockstead do. That's why you see on Civivi spreadsheet they give one hardness for regular blades and another for coated. Because they're done the same, but then the coating process lowers the hardness. I don't see the point of coating a Magnacut blade. If you want to make it look special, do what Reate did and do a copper stonewash finish.
According to the specs of the new Benchmade 710 as listed on BladeHQ, the magnacut blade on the new 710 has an Hrc of 59-61🤔🤢🤮 At the price of $600.00, the magnacut blade of the new Benchmade 710 should have a better heat treat with an Hrc of 63-65!!!!!

Sweet looking benchmade, although, yes a bit pricey. And the gold class is in a whole class in itself, but gorgeous nonetheless. I won't buy them, but i'll ogle the sh!t out of them, haha.
