Your videos are relatable because you show when you mess up and have to go redo thing over and over. It happens to most but some people don’t show that. They make it look like they got it on the first try, then I try it. Doesn’t work and it pisses me off. You show when you ruin something and how to fix it. Makes me be like aaahhhh, I see. Cool! I like the honesty.
I've watched this 3 times since last night. Best personality, calming music and voice and I love your edits. Best intro ever. Just all around good work my guy. Even showing the flaws in the creative process is so refreshing
I would have just used heat transfer vinyl. You can cut it out with the cricut maker and use an iron to have the vinyl adhere to the shirt and the dye wont stick to the vinyl. You could even just dye it and out the vinyl on after
Hey! I'm an art teacher and I am doing a digital art class with my kids this year. I was wondering if you can upload a video of your process. When it comes to printing the design on vinyl. What materials do you use, how do you get it to translate, do you need a specific printer, do you use other programs besides photoshop? My kids would love something like this!!
@shmoxd tip for your screen printing. It should have a gap between the frame and the shirt and it will release from each other. A lollipop stick or a coin on the underside of the frame on each side will give enough space for you to press through the paint but also when you've lifted up it will spring back away from the fabric.
omg so many vids today! (i know it's technically not pride month anymore but could you do some art/embroidery based on pride flags? that would be so awesome) love your content dude
jsut followed this video but to normal screen print instead of ty dye and it came out amazing!!! thank you schmoxd!!! these videos inspire me sooo much!!
Could you start linking some products? I know the products aren’t hard to find but either making a list of the products or linking them as well would help a lot. Love you videos man👌🏻 I haven’t been creating as often as I was in college but your videos make me want to start creating again.
Will this be a video where I admire your art and designs, actually want to try out the tutorial, or just sit back and enjoy the A+ content? Oh, all three? Nice.
Bro best and easiest way to do this is to use wax, melt it down to a liquid then paint on your design, might also work on the screens but might only get one pass as you have to wash the wax away with hot water. It has a Spanish name for the type of work but I can't remember, I did this many moons ago in secondary school it was lot's of fun. Great content thanks for sharing.
@@ThomasSturm could be, like I said was many years ago when I was at school. I've had a look at some batik but I remember it being more geometric with lots of sawtooth patterns but could of just been something the teacher found as reference. Thanks for the input.
My question is how long does this design stay on the shirt? Can it be machine washed? When does it crack? Do you think I could make and sell shirts with this technique?
It usually stays on pretty alright. :) I recommend washing the shirt in slightly colder temperature and turned inside out. Might need some touching up with the iron once in a while if it starts to crack or lift. You can! I suggest investing in good materials for the longetivity and easiness.
This was amazing! Thanks heaps for all the sweet tips. I’m going to try tie dying with diluted Permaset Aqua screenprinting paint because I have lots of it and it’s eco friendly. I appreciate all the value and time you have poured into your videos. Best wishes from Aotearoa NZ ✌🏿✌🏽✌🏼
@@jesusfreaklol1 You don't necessarily need to. White plastisol ink is opaque. You could get pretty good opacity on these colours with white ink in a single print.
@@20vK if you swipe with the paint a few times and a bit more thick you will get good results. thats for sure. i often screenprint white on freshly bleached shirts.
Fabulous Video! But did I miss one where you show the process of cutting out the vinyl you used on the screens? That seemed like a super slick way to get a design onto a screen.
He's uploaded 3 videos in one day, one of the others has him using a cricut machine (most people would probably just use a Stanley knife or other precision blade)
This was very entertaining and informative. I have never seen a home screen print. You just gave me some crazy ideas. I’m going to make some really funky shirts. I really liked the colors you made and the last shirt with the diluted color had a real water color look to it. Very cool. Thank you for all the work you did on making this video. Respect 🫡
I love your videos! You're so creative and share great ideas with us, Ty so much! May I ask something? Could you write the list of materials that you use on the description? I am a brazilian fan and it is a little difficult to understand all the audio.
Love this! But could you please tell us what kind of white paint stuff did you end up using??? I tried to read the container but couldn’t really read it or make out what you said! ☹️ I looked in the comments and no one seems to know, either.
Before you put the shirt on that cutout to add the print….put some parchment paper so the print doesn’t stick to the cutout and distort the image once you go to peel.
your the best!! what design space are you using on the computer to edit your design? lol im so new to all of this and i have so many things i want to make but i dont know which design space to buy
This seems like too much work to add to your shop but man if you found quicker way to produce it that'd be awesome. These turned out so nice! Thanks for the videos!
I see this video is 2 years old. I hope you've learned to clean your optics since then. Good info, though there are other techniques worth considering. Keep on dyeing! 💀👍
But how did you know my insomnia needed a mass upload of shmoxd?

So many videos my God, has he accidebtly uploaded everything at once 😂
Exactly my thoughts like was it supposed to be scheduled upload on different days
he does this pretty often so i think it’s a sponsorships deadline kinda thing

Me a few days ago: Haven't seen much of my man Shmoxd lately, wonder what he's up to

Yeah but I personally prefer screen printed shirt designs over vinyl. The textures are different
@@cantfiteveryheart doesn`t vinyl also crack and tear off after after a while? Speaking from experience :(
And of course, not everyone has a Cricut
I think his method allows for easy reprinting without repurchasing vinyl every time
I’ve watched your vids for a while, but now working at a screen printing business is so cool to see how similar the processes are now watching these
Your opening video should get an award 🥇 thank you for this speedy, informative and creative way to learn this method !
I love how u put in your failure as part of the progress. 🙃

WHEN THE KING UPLOADS 3 VIDS IN ONE NIGHT
Omg yes - I literally just bought tie dye supplies last week, taking notes 📝
Couldn't you just print the design after? Then it wouldn't matter if it stained or not
That's what I thought lol
But if you wash it again in the future there’s a chance of the dye running and staining it
@@Ddalgiichigo If you've done the process correct the dye should stick to the shirt in the wash
My thoughts exactly lol
As a former screen printer, yeah. Just tie dye the shirt then screen print it.
So many videos all at once!! what a blessing 😭😭
my fav content creator indeed

why dont you tie die the shirt, let it dry and thennnnn screenprint white? that would make all the testing obsolete?!
