I went all in with the V-AF system. 24mm, 35mm, 45mm, 75mm, 100mm, MF adapter, 1.7x Anamorphic adapter. Using them with my Sony FX6 and Sony A7RV. They are excellent lenses, and all of the lenses and adapters fit with my FX6 in a McKinnon 35L backpack. Impossible if i try with my traditional Cine lenses, and the fact the Anamorphic adapter works for all these lenses (I did not get the 20mm as it doesn't work with the Anamorphic adapter), I am carrying effectively a full range of anamorphics without carrying extra lenses. Brilliant design. LOVE these lenses!
I really have to say the quality of this channel is unimaginably great. I came across this channel about 2 weeks ago and the videos really impressed me. The high quality and every topic perfectly summarized in one video without talking forever. Really perfect 👍 I just had to say that once, because I really like it when "smaller" channels have such great quality. And btw your lens reviews about sigma 16-28 and the tamron 28-200 really helped me, thanks for that 🙏
@@PavSZ Do you know anything about T stops and F stops? I know T stops are an exact measurement and f stops aren’t, and I’ve heard other RUclipsrs say this is equivalent to most f/1.8 lenses in terms of bokeh, but it doesn’t look like that to me. I’m definitely going to be purchasing these soon!

thank you! In this case I have used base conversion LUT from gamut to convert the footage from S-Log3 to Rec709 and then I have used Magic Bullet Suite to colour grade further. I'll be making video about it soon
Great video, optics look amazing! Wishing I had an a7s3 or a74 to justify picking these up cause the modern choices among ef mounts don’t bring as much value as these
Hi. Thank you very much for this test. Very nice images! One question regarding the options in the software via the lens dock. ( sorry, I could not find the information on their website) 300 degree manual focus rotation is too much for a solo shooter. What are the other values you can set the rotation to? Thanks in advance and keep on working like that. 👍🏻
I would love to know, now that the V-AF 45mm has been out, which one you would favour, that or the slightly older Samyang 50 mm mark II? I can't decide between the two.
V-AF lenses are different. These a cinema lenses that are not directly comparable to their standard lens. They have totally different purpose and make the most sense if used together as a set. Also it is very hard to advise anyone which camera or a lens to choose. There is too many factors that only you know: budget, experience, what you are going to be using it for etc. Only you can decide. Do your research and make the choice
Personally, I'd prefer the new Panasonic S5II along with f1.8 primes over this. On sony, it makes a nice set considering the price for these cine lenses. It is a bargain for the price as cine lenses such as the Samyang CF series are pretty expensive and lacks autofocus.
I used them on fx30 - nothing special. Also I used them with anamorphic adapter Blazar. Not a sharpest combo with these lenses. It’s hard to tell where is infinity on them. Sony lenses are much more better quality. 7artisans also not great choice. SLR magic CINE for e mount is the best choice for FX30. They have outstanding quality
Whatever is right for you. This is a question that only you can answer. You need to ask yourself what you are going to use it for, what's your budget. What features are more important to you. What camera you are going to use it on is going to be important, as well as level of your experience

better for what? For shooting portraits of kids in the park, Sigma for sure. For filming interviews to get shallow depth of field, gears for manual focusing with a follow focus system and a tally lamp light in front of the lens, Samyang
I have all 3 and they are really nice, but I wish that the tally lights could be turned off if desired. IMO this was a big design oversight. There are plenty of times where a light coming from your camera could interfere or when you don't want to announce that you're filming. Maybe they could make turning them off available via the firmware dock?
@@PavSZ Thank you very much! I was asking because I'm trying to figure out if it works well with Sony a 7sii which has always not had much built-in auto focus and I wouldn't want to make an unnecessary purchase
