    Well done on your video. I did the Holland Track over 20 years ago. One thing I always carry in my 4wd in my 30 years experience 4WD driving in very remote areas of the Australian bush is to carry in case of tyre damage a set of Bandag truck tyre patches (big ones) of various sizes & 6 spare inner tubes. I have been in the situation similar to the tyre incident here where on my own I got out of trouble by doing temporary repair fixes using patches & inner tubes to get me back to civilization. These patches can be obtained here in Australia if you enquire at tyre outlets that deal in truck tyres.

    My Pajero has factory fitted Dunlop AT20's. Just wondering should I attempt this track with these Tyres? I don't want to replace these tyres with something better until they are worn out and money is a bit tight at the moment.

    What tyre pressures were you running in the tyres? In the first video when lifting wheels in the air the pressures looked very low!

    • @Alex.G
      @Alex.G  6 лет назад

      All were running 28 psi which is what the Toyota landcruiser club recommends (they maintain the track). Except the discovery, I think the pressures had to be higher on that for its low profile.

    Hi there Alex great vid. Surprised you showed nothing passed Agnes Gnamma hole past Thursday rock to Victoria rock rd.Having done the track a number of times I've found this section through the woodlands some of the best parts of the track.Also parts of it are quite narly and if you take it too quickly through here things get broken. You did well to drive from the Namma hole to Coolgardie in a day.For anyone who decides to drive this track on road tyres. It can be done, but your tickling the dragons tail big time.regards fromBigezi

    • @Alex.G

      +Sayntavian it did get out. Steve went back to Perth, ordered new rims and a set of all terrain tyres, hired a mine spec ute and took the new wheels and tyres out to it. That was the following weekend, the rest of us had ventured deeper into the middle of nowhere.

    The problem with the tyres were they were Goodyears. They are a shocking tyre and very puncture prone, ebay cheapies would've faired better. What I dont get though is the guy has spent big money on two spares and a rear wheel carrier yet runs those tyres? Also they sell for more than many AT's

    Andrew from ruclips.net/video/TTKa10sJlPs/видео.html found this vehicle travelling solo and made a point of referring to how completely unsuitable the road tyres on this stranded Land Rover are for this type of touring. This is a classic example of inexperienced remote area travellers getting caught out. Can afford the Land Rover, it's full of great gear, but road tyres, and low profile at that. Simply not a good combination. $2000 worth of good quality LT construction All Terrain tyres and this vehicle most likely wouldn't have had a single tyre issue..

    • @Alex.G
      @Alex.G  6 лет назад

      That's why I never cut this sort of thing out, everyone has heard the concerns about highway terrain tyres, but when they actually see just how far up shit creek it can land you....then you've really grasped the idea 😂
