- horn and steering wheel switche lights not working the cause in my case is bad clock spring.
TO ALIGN THE STEERING WHEEL
MAKE SURE YOUR STEERING WHEEL IS STRAIGHT. TAKE A PERMANENT MARKER AND DRAW A STRAIGHT LINE FROM THE STEERING WHEEL NEAREST TO THE NUT,THROUGH THE NUT THROUGH THE SHALF TO THE OTHER SIDE. MAKE SURE TO PUT THE STEERING WHEEL BACK ON ALIGNED WITH THE LINE YOU DREW WITH THE PERMANENT MARKER.
Awesome thanks for the great education I needed this to do on my 2008 prostar
You're welcome
Thanks for the video
You're welcome
Hey the reason why you replaced the clock spring only because the controller was not working, or also because the steering wheel is to loose?? I am wondering because I am about to replace the clock spring as you does but because when the truck is off the steering wheel pivot easy left or right to much so whole drive yhe truck on the road the steering is not perfect and I 'am sometimes afraid to have an accident . Can I aswell replace the clock springs or it is an other issue . Thx you for any answer
I replaced the clockspring because the lights and the city horn wasn't working.
If your steering wheel is loose make sure the cause is not from your steering shaft or steering box.
Ohhh okay I see , thanks you again.
@@ppgk92 you're welcome
That is power steering gear box
I have the same issue with my 09 international ... nothing works on the steering wheel ...
Then it might be your clock spring pull off your cover and see if your harness is still connected to the clock spring or play with the harness maybe there is a short.also check to see if there is a fuse that control the things on the steering wheel.
By any chance would you guys know what fuse or relay that might be?
Where did you get that clock spring can’t find it no where
I got it in Allentown PA at the five star international dealer
@@truckingpaysthebills5394 thanks I’ll give them a call asap cause hopefully that’s it cause I replaced the steering wheel controls and still no horn or anything I hope that’s it
@@truckingpaysthebills5394 update I called them they had one it was the last one he said I was lucky cause they on national back order thanks cause that fixed everything on my steering wheel and got me back on the road it even fix my engine brake now I can go further thanks man you save the day salute 🫡
@@gohardfast you are welcome, glad i could help.
Was that steering clock making noise when its turning? Is that why changing it ?
It was making a slight noise, but my main reason to change it was that the switches weren't working.
Great job
You didn't show the most important part...how did you align it?
Hi,you are absolutely right i just updated the description by mentioning that step.
But what i did was make sure ny steering wheel is straight then draw a straight line with a marker through the steering near the nut through the nut and the shaft
@@truckingpaysthebills5394 ok thank you
Hey there where did you buy the city horn ? I bought already 2 wrong ONE ,I even went at an international dealer and THEY used my VIN THEY GAVE ME A PAIR HORN ,IT WAS NOT WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR .thanks for that video.
If possible also share some link thx you
Hi ppgk i didn't purchase a new horn i only purchase the clocks spring
@@truckingpaysthebills5394 oh okay so the horn come inside the clock spring ?
@@ppgk92 my horn is located behind my front pumper the wires are routed up to the clock spring harness. Also my horn stop working before but the issue was not the clock spring. The horn itself was no good but luckily there was a spare horn bolted in the same location so all i had to do was unplug the old one and plug in the new one.if you got new horn and the wire connector fit in the horn and it don't work when you press the horn you might have a broken wire Somewhere. You can get 2 pieces of wire and attach then to your battery and then to your horn if your horn dont have a positive and negative on the connector i don't think it matter what wire go on the connector pin if your horn works then you have a broken wire Somewhere on your truck
@@truckingpaysthebills5394 thanks for all the details, I guess the horn is missing in the steering wheel. The 2 connectors are present . Thanks very much.
How much was the new clock spring? Pls
At the time it was around $240
What is the name of that tool ,you said puller . Is it needful to do the same process as you did ,in order to replace the horn button? For I don't have these tool at all . Thanks you for an reply.
Yes its a puller you can find them at the auto store you will need it to replace the clock spring not the horn button, you might have miss spoke. If the puller bolt dont fit get the right bolts at the hardware store.
Thanks you very much for these infos ,appreciate it. Peace be
Was your traction control (TC) light on
Before u changed the clock spring..? Is the clock spring same as steering wheel sensor...
Yes my TC light was coming and going before i change the clock spring and the clockspring and steering wheel sensor are two different parts. The sensor is further down on the steering column.
Bro where's your impact gun
I do have one but i figure ill use some elbow grease 💪🤣
What tool is that?
It's a gear puller you can use it on other things other than pulling a steering wheel.
@Trucking pays the bills thank you I appreciate it.
