    Hey Alex. That sucks to have had to wait around for 3 days. Things can get expensive sitting around. Glad you figured out not to place space between loads. That could have been catastrophic. $5900 wasn't bad considering. Would have been $10K+ if the reloads would have been available. No donuts this go around! Too bad. Maybe next time! Great content, bro! Stay safe out there...

      I did my cheat day video while in Salt Lake City so I had all my food in that video. That’s why no donuts in this one but they will be in the next one for sure. Sometimes I mix them in with the work video and sometimes I’ll do just good videos separately. Salt Lake has always been hard to get loads out of. Hoping this week will be better, being in the Midwest. 👍🏻

    I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of this but Belly Wrapping and Gut Wrapping helps a lot with certain freight to keep it from moving like those two did. Gut wrap is a style I use a lot to keep majority of my flatbed freight from shifting in transit.

    • @Mr.AlexKogan
      @Mr.AlexKogan  Год назад +1

      I do belly wrapping often if I have pipes or certain things that may shift. My mistake is I should never put pallets with empty space in between.

    • @Mr.AlexKogan

      It is harder to get loads than a year ago for sure. A lot has to do with being lucky in the right place at the right time. This pilot was not the cleanest in the showers but not bad. Loves are cleaner but I’m mostly at pilot because I get good discounts to fill up there so I get free showers.

    Hey Alex why didn’t you deadhead to Denver instead of sitting in Salt Lake? I know Denver’s kinda hard to get out of but you would have a better chance getting out earlier right? Anyways where’s the workout videos? I know you didn’t just sit there and eat, you a Gym Shark 🦈😅💪🏼

    • @Mr.AlexKogan
      @Mr.AlexKogan  Год назад

      Denver is not that close and is not any better than salt lake. I’m always sitting around in Denver too. Two of the worst places I’ve been to. Yeah I went to the gym everyday that I sat in Salt Lake. I didn’t record because recording yourself at the gym is so awkward. lol. Also it’s best to have a tripod to get good angles at the gym but then you start looking like a complete weirdo. lol. I have to be in the right mood to take the camera to the gym unfortunately.

      Check the state laws for Texas. In NC you can still get your CDLs and drive a commercial vehicle you just can’t go out of state. Go ahead and get them CDLs, beverage companies are good about hiring drivers with no experience so you can start looking there, get you a couple years experience and then when you turn 21 you’ll be good to go.

      A big part of this job is getting lucky. Being in the right place at the right time. Calling the broker before someone else has a chance to call. It’s like going to the casino basically. Good luck getting started 👍🏻

    What's going on Alex, glad you got out of Utah!! If you stayed any longer, you might have gotten married a few more times. Lol Polygamy is rampant out there!!!😅😂 (jk) I'm headed to Wisconsin, Minnesota, and then North Dakota. Hopefully I'll be able to get out fairly quickly, if not, I'll deadhead back to Minnesota. There a ton of loads leaving there. Stay safe!!

    Don’t understand why you sat for 3 days….

    • @Mr.AlexKogan
      @Mr.AlexKogan  Год назад +1

      Because every load coming out of the area was around $1 per mile or less and weighs between 10-15k lb. There were some loads that were good posted on board but by the time you get through to the broker, it’s already covered. What’s your minimum per mile that you will take?

    • @jamesnelson5700
      @jamesnelson5700 Год назад

      I would lift my front axle off the ground and drive away. Sitting for no pay for 3 days is a no no for me, 3 days from Utah is a lot of freight….

    • @Mr.AlexKogan
      @Mr.AlexKogan  Год назад

      @@jamesnelson5700 But where would you go from Utah? There are no places anywhere near that will give you better chances of getting a load. That’s the thing with this business these days. You can sit for a few days with nothing. No one wants to take a 10k lb load for a dollar. You know what I mean? There were plenty loads like that.

    • @jamesnelson5700
      @jamesnelson5700 Год назад

      @@Mr.AlexKogan you are 2 days from Texas, 2 days from La, 6 hrs from Vegas. Look along the way. I would just sit there, go toward a better area.

    • @Mr.AlexKogan
      @Mr.AlexKogan  Год назад

      @@jamesnelson5700 I don’t think it’s smart to drive over 1000 miles to Texas empty. L.A. is definitely a no go with diesel prices around $6 there and traffic that’s unlike anywhere else. Vegas is no better than Salt Lake. Been there and had a hard time getting a load out of there too. Plus it’s over 100 degrees there.
      You can’t just drive somewhere over 1000 miles empty because as soon as you go, there will most definitely be a load that’ll pop up.
