The beauty of the traditional catholic wedding mass

- In the recent past, I had the opportunity to attend a traditional catholic wedding mass in Normandy (France).
I was struck by the beauty of this ceremony: the ancient church, the traditional liturgy and the Gregorian, renaissance and baroque polyphonic chants. I was immerged in another century. This rich roman catholic ritual that has survived centuries, reflected the Glory of God and moves the soul.
These thirty minutes of film condense a two hours long ceremony.
We can note that within the traditional catholic wedding, the marriage takes place first and is then followed by the Thanksgiving Mass. You will see:

Fortunately, there are still traditional roman catholic priests and families who maintain their faith through this liturgy. I knew that France was considered as “the eldest daughter of the Church”; through this experience I am certain of it.

Wow, what a beautiful church and ceremony! My husband and I were married in a chapel mission (one of the 21 missions built by the Spanish priests between the 1700 - 1800s) in a Traditional Catholic Nuptial Mass. It certainly was not as grandiose as this wedding ceremony, but it was reverent and beautiful. God bless the bride and groom!

Beautiful! I am so proud to be Catholic. I have seen videos of "so called" Catholic marriages in Catholic Church's Looking at them made me sick and angry that the so called priest allowed such protestant secular songs . They had secular "Flash Mob" singers throughout the church. No reverence or respect towards the Blessed Sacrament, absolutely it was "About Me" Yet the so called priest allowed this all. He should be defrocked. The so called Catholics thought they were at a Concert or Theatre and were clapping. They have ignored the Blessed Sacrament. God help us. The Church has sunk below the line. Pray for OUR Church .

I agree. What a splendid Mass ! The Halleluja we hear at 31:41 (the signature) was composed by Dietrich Buxtehude (1637-1707). Once again, the beauty of our sacred catholic music has unfortunatly disappeared from today's catholic Mass. Many thanks to this young couple for the magnificient ceremony!
