....I signed up for an Etsy store, spent eight hours working on things - only for my account to get suspended. Not even an entire day on the site. Not even email stating why. So, now I'm waiting to hear back from them. Gotta wait up to 9 days. Still love your videos though.
Honestly, I'm confident your account will be reinstated once a human looks over it. An immediate ban from Etsy is common. People make suspicious looking accounts all the time by accident. Etsy has no choice but to ban you. Think about it: the majority of accounts trying to be created on websites like Etsy are from bots that are trying to spam & scam their users. The MAJORITY. So when you come along & create a suspicious looking account, Etsy can either: a) Keep it active and give you the benefit of the doubt - and risk their customers being scammed. b) Ban it. I deal with scam bots on this channel that YT lets through. These scam bots impersonating me and other YTers are scamming my viewers every day. I get emails from viewers telling me they have lost hundreds of dollars. It is heart-breaking. Etsy like most other platforms takes the conservative route to choose to protect their customers & insta-bans suspicious accounts. They just don't have a choice 🙏 Here are just a few common reasons that people accidentally make their accounts look suspicious: * They create a dummy product to just create their store with incorrect data, and then forget to delete this fake dummy product. * They upload too many products at once without filling in much product data. * They come from a country/region with a high amount of scam/spam accounts. The good news is that unlike some websites (like RedBubble, ugh) Etsy do genuinely make a concerted effort to review accounts that appeal the ban. A human goes in, looks at your account, see's the suspicious action was just an accidented and then reinstates it. If you read my comments section, you'll see the same story play out over-and-over. But each time, the users that do appeal the ban get their accounts unbanned. I understand it is frustrating & it delays your new store from opening, but it's a necessary action they have to take to protect the platform from scammers. Instead of being frustrated at Etsy, what we really need to be frustrated with, is the literal scam businesses causing this🙏🙏🙏
I made an Etsy account and they banned mine within like a couple hours as well. But then like 7 days later they had to look over and reinstated it and now it's up and good. Getting banned and reviewed and reinstated after like 6 or 7 days almost seems like part of the process.
I wish that wasn't true but it kind of is. Most accounts get banned and it seems like Etsy uses it as a way to test if you're a real person or not, by seeing who appeals the temporary ban and who doesn't!

I think the person commenting this means it has to be 300dpi even when blown up way larger than a computer screen, especially a phone screen etc. Chances are Wikipedia is not gonna have high quality images that won't look like crap if printed on anything bigger than a standard computer screen for sure. Not that it's even legal nor morally ok to begin with. But even if a copyright is past its 7 years, you don't know if they reapplied for copyright and it's still something im pretty sure you can't just do without risking consequences especially if the original owner of the photo (even if someone dies, artwork usually has rights passed down to someone else. Like alot of famous dead artists...) would be able to come after you for this. And as an artist. This makes me pretty sick.
I don't understand why it makes you feel sick Tiffany? The public domain is recognized as important part of the progression of art. It is an important tool towards progress and also in preserving the rights of artists to grow. All artists use other people's art as their inspiration and allowing work to enter the public domain protects artists rights to learn from the past to build & progress art into the future. It also enables people to experiment with new technologies and to find ways to give old art a new audience that would have missed it otherwise. It enables their art to live on even after they have died. The public domain is an important, crucial piece of law that helps the art - and society - to evolve: web.law.duke.edu/cspd/publicdomainday/2019/why/
In regards to the art being 300 DPI, as I said Tiffany, most historical art uploaded to Wikipedia is in 300 DPI. There are now also AI image enlargers & enhancers that can take images in lower DPI than 300 & to scale it up, while preserving the quality 🙏
@@WholesaleTed it's one thing to use a photograph that's open stock as a reference for a work of art but to literally just download random "possibly legal" photos and put t them on POD items to make money just seems like a poor choice of business for many reasons, not just that it's almost insulting to artists who spend years and years learning and mastering their art techniques etc before the actual selling aspect, but the main point being that you're using someone else's work to try and shortcut a quick buck. And while I'm all for money flowing easily, it's still not as simple as finding others artwork that aren't under copyright law anymore and making money. You still have to market, set up the actual business aspect of it all, and do the research thoroughly as copyright laws are not the same everywhere to begin with. You still need buyers, and if anyone can grab that image and throw it on a shirt why would anyone buy from 'you'' (anyone who actually decides to do this 'business idea being 'you'). I just feel like times better spent growing and nurturing ones own skills, talents and passions, and learning how to profit from them. Rather than profit from someone else's talents and passions alone. Just like the whole AI art thing. There's so much conflict about it because it's taking open stock photos and even some copyright images. Because the AI doesn't know the difference and if you read the whole page you linked to me earlier, that does mean not everything on Wikipedia isn't under some kind of copyright protection. But because not everyone wants to spend time educating themselves, they could wind up in trouble. Or at very least in a likely not super profitable, time consuming and lacking passion and joy type of "business". Sorry but obviously, this idea isn't my favorite. But that's my personal opinion. But again, to each their own. But in my artist communities we respect other artists. We reference everything and everyone wherever possible, if we ever used anything even if they've already passed, even if their copyright is expired, etc. Because that's what's morally right.
It doesn't really change anything about the business model besides how much money you make. You'll obviously make more if you choose to print on demand in-house if you have the equipment. But if you don't mind earning less per sale, you can instead print on demand with an external printer.
Thank you for always uploading and I always get something new from you which I receive email every week but dear what I can do if etsy is not available for my country
I've never downloaded artwork off of Wikipedia. Are you saying that you were able to download a high enough quality photo that it can be reprinted at a much larger scale onto something like a poster? That would be my concern...
Hi - thanks for this. very interesting. I tried to find where you are seeing these public domain art work on wikipedia and it's very difficult to find. can you please share the link where you are finding this as it is just not clear in the video and I cannot find it either.. Thanks!
Once I download the image am I able to print it in any size I want? If so, how do you ensure the download is not a pixelated mess? I read that dalle images are very tiny
Wait wait wait. Wikipedia isn't a source for copyright free and open/legal use for resale product photos? They even have to reference the photos but they're not selling anything so the owner of the photo isn't going to go after them (usually) but to do so for profit without just stealing random art from Wikipedia doesn't seem legal, or not against even etsys terms and conditions nor something even morally ok...
Wikipedia is a great source of public domain photos. Photos & pictures uploaded to Wikipedia/Wikimedia Commons all have different licensing, and many photos on there have a Public Domain license. Some have them because the picture/photo is already in the public domain (such as the copyright on the art expiring), others have them because the creator of it chose to place it in there, when uploading it. You can see the license on each photo page. Any additional information they provide, such as the name of the artist, is not a legal requirement, but done for the purpose of Wikipedia's overarching goal, which is to be an important resource. It isn't stealing to use public domain content, as everyone has the legal right to use public domain pictures, because everyone collectively owns it. You cannot steal from yourself: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_domain
Yes they can, but it is heavily moderated. You cannot just upload anything, without it being moderated, which is why people provide more information on the pictures they upload so that the information can be cross-checked. In addition, you can always do your own research. You can look up the artist, and the work, and you can see where they died or when they created it to check if it is in the public domain.
I think you misunderstood the video. The store did make $17k, it didn't make $1.4k. The store made $17k across all of their products. They don't just sell one poster. They sell multiple posters. But that one poster made $1.4k that month. But across all of their items, they made $17k. I think you mistook their single poster sales, for the entirety of the store sales 🙏
I used to believe everything I saw and even follow you on everything but everybody is showing ways of doing money and they get paid to do advertising. Now I don’t know what to believe.
How to earn money for youtube channel sister? No idia can my youtube channel moneytaize before one year ago but what happened I don't know really sagetion I can't get ❤
My listings never show up on My Etsy store. I'm not sure how people sell these things mounted and make any profit because just a canvass on printify is like $38. Hard to mark that up.
That’s probably why it shows it’s made 17k in sales. That’s not actual profit. Most of that goes to printify and Etsy and ad spend. Still, if you can sell enough of them, I guess it adds up… eventually.

Which company do you use to make your images 300 dpi for print?
I like the shirt, u gt style
Sara what is the best method for low or no budget this days?
Do you really feeling ok stealing from artists??
I try to like you bc you are so bright but where is you morality? I mean this With love..,
How do you find solid image quality? They are always too pixelated for larger print ? Is this anyone else’s experience

Hi, Sarah, Could you please help me to know that if I design that portrait & publish it in etsy, Do I need to print it & send it to the customer...?
Pretty cool
great video heh
Hi - thanks for this. very interesting. I tried to find where you are seeing these public domain art work on wikipedia and it's very difficult to find. can you please share the link where you are finding this as it is just not clear in the video and I cannot find it either.. Thanks!
Once I download the image am I able to print it in any size I want? If so, how do you ensure the download is not a pixelated mess? I read that dalle images are very tiny
You need to make sure they are large image sizes.
Cobvert it into Vector format
But isn't the image from Wikipedia very low resolution?
Hye nice dear thank you info in support 🥰🥰.
Hey lots of support from India ❤️
Could we do this from India?
Like all the selling should be in foreign places like US and UK
Is it possible?
Not on Etsy India is not allowed
Love you
Wait wait wait.
@@WholesaleTed can't anyone publish anything on Wikipedia?
Yes they can, but it is heavily moderated. You cannot just upload anything, without it being moderated, which is why people provide more information on the pictures they upload so that the information can be cross-checked. In addition, you can always do your own research. You can look up the artist, and the work, and you can see where they died or when they created it to check if it is in the public domain.
I'm a bit confused, though. The store on Etsy makes $17K/mo. but the store owner only got $1,420 from it?
I think you misunderstood the video. The store did make $17k, it didn't make $1.4k. The store made $17k across all of their products. They don't just sell one poster. They sell multiple posters. But that one poster made $1.4k that month. But across all of their items, they made $17k. I think you mistook their single poster sales, for the entirety of the store sales 🙏
Why i can't register on etsy,,
So sad
I,m from indonesia..

I used to believe everything I saw and even follow you on everything but everybody is showing ways of doing money and they get paid to do advertising. Now I don’t know what to believe.
How do you find this art?
This doesn’t work for my country India
Isn't it ripping off someone else's idea and not going to rank on etsy if already done before?
Nice

How to earn money for youtube channel sister? No idia can my youtube channel moneytaize before one year ago but what happened I don't know really sagetion I can't get ❤
My listings never show up on My Etsy store.
I'm not sure how people sell these things mounted and make any profit because just a canvass on printify is like $38. Hard to mark that up.
That’s probably why it shows it’s made 17k in sales. That’s not actual profit. Most of that goes to printify and Etsy and ad spend. Still, if you can sell enough of them, I guess it adds up… eventually.
@@pixiemoon3020i think they take half
