@@BravoSeven it would be nice to see him out of character in a musical setting. He's got a major heart condition and may not be around for much longer. If you heard his out of character interview with his therapist, it was great to hear his human side after decades of his Buckethead persona.
This is by far the most interesting video in this series. Dweezil is on a different level. That "Frankenstein" half fretless SG sound reminds me of a didgeridoo.
He says he does not have much of his Dad's equipment, and mentions once being able to listen to master tapes of his Dad's music. All due to his little brother and sister taking the Zappa Trust hostage. Dweezils work is not even on his father's website, as it used to be. Deezel comes off so grounded and humble it added so much charm the groovy collection show. I can imagine Frank looking down with pride on how wonderful a man his son grew into. ✌🏻
That was excellent! The texts going back and forth between friends/brothers...etc. must have all looked like “...semi-fretless????” “...partially microtonal???” Incredible collection of guitars. First class production by Gibson TV and M.A. Thank you.
This was a great interview of Dweezil. I'm an 80s child and I didnt get to know much about Frank's music. All I remember was seeing on record stores his different colorful album covers. I would definitely go see him live next time he comes to Miami/Fort Lauderdale area.
I could listen to Dweezil talk about guitar for hours. Such an awesome player, yet very humble. The super human task of keeping Frank's music alive alone makes him one of the greatest to ever pick up a guitar. We are not worthy.
I honestly know nothing about Dweezil’s music or anything, but every time I see an interview or something with him, it makes me just wanna hangout with him. Such a collected and cool dude, with a smart and funny personality and not a shred of pretentiousness.
I like your job, Mark. To most people that loves guitar playing, that would be a "dream" job. It would not even feel like you are working at all, 'cause you get paid to do your passion. More power to you Gibson, keep them coming. One day this show will be globally famous...:)
I'll never understand the Zappa Family Trust stuff. Let Dweezil do his thing and give him everything he needs-he's out there doing the work to carry on the legacy!

It is easy to love someone who in our eyes does everything WE want.
Forgive me for droning on.
Greetings from Colorado Springs Colorado. Christopher
You know you've made it when Eddie Van Halen is your roadie for a school talent show.
It’s exactly the sort of thing Eddie would have done, but that doesn’t make it any less amazing.
That fretless SG with the sustainiac really blew my.mind. this guy is an inspiration and a genius like his father
Dweezil seems like such a good guy. Great to see him and his collection.
I saw Frank five times and I've seen Dweezil five times. Dweezil will frequently stay on stage and greet fans and sign autographs after a show. And like his dad, he always has a kick-ass band who can really play. Great guy and a great performer.
WOW. Dweezil's guitar collection is off the charts cool! I love the fact that most of the guitars are heavily modded and totally quirky!
Humble, grounded, amazing disposition. Dweezil is not only a gifted guitarist but an innovator as well. Glad to see him not only continuing his dad's legacy but moving music forward and inventing as well. His Van Halen memories are touching.
Great interview and guitar tour. Dweezil is a mad scientist.
I know its impossible to get him out of character, but a buckethead episode would be badass.
@@BravoSeven it would be nice to see him out of character in a musical setting. He's got a major heart condition and may not be around for much longer. If you heard his out of character interview with his therapist, it was great to hear his human side after decades of his Buckethead persona.
first two minutes: dweezil is obviously leader of the illuminati and has intel on the squatch community
"The Trust" sold the family home and left FZs soundboard in the studio.
Sick little bastards. Sad.
GaGa of all people bought Frank's house. I believe Ahmet sold a few guitars before Dweezil could choose his inheritance.
Man. Gail really messed up the way the trust was split. Such a shame. Dweezil is so talented and humble.
@@kikaizuki I think deep down Gail hated Frank's open relationships with other women and took it out on his kids and legacy.
Greed and money corrupts! Dweez stayed true to the Music and his Pops legacy.
Dweezil is the man, i saw your tour of Zappa Plays Zappa, and it was the BEST Concert that I saw in 20 Years, I saw the Mothers when I was 16 years old, I will never forget that show, Rock on Man, My Best, Cousin Figel
Awesome. His dad is smiling. I just love this series. Thanks, Gibson.
What a fantastic hour of guitar talk! He's so eloquent. Could listen to a part 2 and part 3!
Genius like his father
Fantastic that he can keep his father’s legacy alive
I agree with you, but on top of his father’s legacy, I think Dweezil is starting to create his own legacy!
I’m terribly sorry for the loss of your good friend Edward Deeezil, it was touching to watch your emotion for Ed, we all lost our hero. Eddie left a mark like no other. His life was a success to the highest order. He will forever be known on planet earth for as long as planet earth exists. God bless him, can’t wait to see that smile in Gods house. #EVH Forever 🎸 🎶🎶🎶
love this series, whilst i love seeing the vintage rarities like the bursts, its super interesting to see someone who takes a different approach to their collection...great job gibson & mark!
It was a joy to meet Dweezil, get a “selfie” together and shake his hand. A genuine guy. Astonishing as a guitarist, and yet so humble and unassuming. Technically brilliant but with soul, feel and humour.
This is a fantastic video!
Loved every minute of it. So, glad to see that Dweezil still has the SUAPYG Les Paul. Excellent, inspiring stuff.
This was one hour and six minutes well spent. Thank you Gibson and hats off to Dweezil.
Awesome show! Dweezil is so freaking cool! I love that he kept handing his guitars over for the interviewer to try out. He makes me want to try a sustainer pickup.
Thank you.
Dweezil seems like a dude that wouldn't shun anyone. He seems very down to earth and real not like some folks. This was awesome.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, unbelievably great video!! Thank you Gibson!!
From what I understand, they have made up and worked out all the legal issues. Hopefully they can go back to being a family and Dweezil can keep on playing.
Ahmet and Diva can't survive without The Trust, and Gail put them in charge. They're like welfare cases using the little power they have over the breadwinner.
Not to mention Frank told Dweezil he could have his guitars
Compelling ,this insight into "more than meets the eye "
zappa history,,those modifications alone speak volumes,
that wellspring of emotion said it all, bless you dweezil.
Dweezil not only a brilliant musician but just a quality human being
I had no idea that people gave him so much hate
Yip I saw dawezel in concert with Steve Vie and it was in the top 2 concerts I've been to in my 67 years of living Frank Zappa was a genius I loved him first time I heard the Mothers Of Invention in 1966 I was 12 I haven't stoped listening to Zappa's great stuff thanks Zappa your the crappa
Love seeing mark absolutely confused at some of these strange guitars, great episode
Thanks for the video. Dweezel is one of the most calm, chill and together Rock guitarists of all time. He’s completely underrated. The man is a beast
Hearing him talk about Eddie is awesome, you really got to know what kind of person Eddie really was. Class act.
Dweezil is a player's player, just like his dad. I love his perspective on everything about playing, and about guitars. LOVE those ones with the weird frets!!!!!
Complete obsession with the instrument I've underestimated this guy, Thank You Gibson.
Dweezle comes across as a very intelligent thoughtful knowledgable articulate well spoken talented dude…
And he’s incredibly talented on guitar
I LOVE DWEEZIL ... HE'S A REALLY GOOD HUMAN UNIT
What an articulate and intelligently gifted young man. Thank you for sharing Dweezil!
Dweezil speaks like Steve-O and looks like a CEO
Nailed it 🎯
Micro-tonal. OMG. Dweezil never ceases to amaze me. Plus he's a real gentleman. So chill and friendly. And one of the most badass players around!
This is my favorite series on RUclips.
Please add Noel Gallagher to this
We would love that
Dweezil has got his dads intelligence and his own love for tech and helping others .....ive seen zappa on zappa 3 times and every time its blown me away.hes a dude.
Mark is a great guitarist and interviewer. Dweezil is so talented, gifted and humble.
Great job to both Mark and Dweezil. Probably one of the best videos I have seen on you tube in a long time. I thank you both for taking the time to make this video, and to Dweezil for taking us down this musical adventure. Just F'ing Awesome!!!
McNelly! He makes great stuff, amazing to see in Dweezil's guitar!
I loved this! I have enjoyed Dweezil’s albums and live performances since 1989. He has been amazing every single time. Thank you for this wonderful video.
Had the experience of a sit in with him what a humble man and he taught me some really cool stuff
Dweezil is such a nice guy and keeper of the the flame for the Frank Zappa legacy ! I meet him a few years ago at a Halloween show. He was so cool and down to earth ! Great feature, thanks for sharing this awesome collection and giving us a detailed look at these fantastic instruments Dweezil ✌️❤️🎵
Dweezil. Such a humble guy, always sharing his craft. thx for the interview!
Holy shit when he started to tear up over Eddie calling him.
Eddie was a whole nother..Dimension of Guitar since Hendrix ( Eddie admitted 20yrs after not acknowledging a Heavy influence) outta 4 VH Shows 1 Eddie transcended..the other Van Hagar..Solid Sammy's vocals are in the absolute top of the Art Rock vocalist...R.Plant..planted as the Ultimate...Hendrix enchanting mystical down dirty cosmic blues..Guitar and vocals...Now I digress but Frank and Dweezil have had the best vocalists that can do anything...that SG is almost good enough to sell your...?? ..
Yeah, Dweezil is for real.
He's got great stories about Eddie and just hanging out with him. It's fun to listen to Eddie just being a buddie and not the Rock Star you'd think.
time cue??
46:20 keept on listening to it to be sure!! there ya go those who don't have the time
This was amazing!! We need a part two!! As if this wasn’t mind blowing enough, but didn’t even get to he Hendrix strat, and EVH’s Rasta.. 🤯
The man's genuineness shines through in this video. Unbelievably great interview, thank you for this.
Holy cow Dweezil Zappa has some pretty and unique guitars.
Wow!!!..What a nice chap Mr zappa is!!..& what an amazing & historic collection!! Thanx ever so much Gibson, Absolutely love all the content! A real "tonic" for the soul during uncertain times! God bless all the Gibson employee's xXxX
Perfect timing for the reverb shop!
Coincidence??🤨
Okay, this guy is super cool. I love that he shows us how the guitars sound. Thanks Dweezil, I know your dad would be very proud.
DZ looks FANTASTIC. What a cool dude! I'm sure he's got so many interesting stories. I always loved him!
