I'm 52 and I get around mostly by biking in this town we live in. Buses are run down and the streets are a mess so I'd rather bike everywhere. I don't like how long it takes to wait on the buses and then a hour in between and then bussing back. Faster and easier on my bike even though I get a disabled discount, its less time consuming on my bike. Yeah, I get stares and questions. But I am way stronger and healthier at this age even so. I push through the rough parts and I gain more confidence too. And the feeling of knowing, you are the one doing it all is amazing. Biking just feels great and uplifting. Such a destressor.
As an older female cyclist who likes adventure, thank you for the representation!
incredible journey and incredible cinematography, cheers from Brasil
Josh and Helen ....that was incredible ! Thank you , once more . What a place !! Great pix and drone shots ...really cool .
Glad you enjoyed it
Discovered your video by chance. Enjoyed it tremendously - makes me want to repeat your journey…
Do it. A great place to ride and the food.
We need the GPS track! ❤️ @@Josh-Reid
Been exploring this island for the last 5 years, its a pleasure to watch it from your perspective.
Great trip, and great work, you encourage me to do a bit more of bikepacking there.
What a great video. These impressions, wow. You have the feeling of being there. Without the tired legs.
Mate what a great few days Sicily looks just stunning the countryside vistas and food incredible!
Wonderful movie 🤙😊
Of all your vids, Josh, I pretty much enjoyed this the most. You are so relaxed and happy.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Yes Helen, cold pizza for breakfast is always a great idea!!!Especially when it’s an authentic pie like that one 😃
So true!
Superb video. That has put Sicily on my want to bikepack list!
Please do!
Living my dream
Another outstanding video. What beautiful country side and the people just amazing. Thanks to you both for a job well done. Take care, Al
Glad you enjoyed it
Stunning and most precious video! Thank you both for the joy hat shone through!
Our pleasure!
Wow. I spent most of my childhood-summers in the area you were cycling through. Seems I should rediscover it again by bike.
Thx for sharing.
You should!
The "Magna Via Francigena" is a 9-day christian pilgrimage hike from Palermo to Agrigento. I slow rode it in 2019. Second stop was Corleone. Ate at your pizza place :) Prizzi, on the mountain, not to be missed. Agrigento incredible temples.
Also, you may want to go check out the Trans-Sardinia also. I rode it south to north, from Cagliari to Olbia. More mountainous, remote than Sicily. Cheers.
Ace. Will take a look at those for a return trip one day.
Well that was an absolute feast for the eyes to watch Josh. Pieced together beautifully.
Sicily was settled by a huge number of the top artisans from Italy. That's why everything things looks so zen.😮😮
That doesnt seem right. Sicily was settled by Sicels, then colonized by Greeks and Phoenicians, then invaded by romans, arabs, normans, greeks again, aragonese, spanish, french, germans and only italians after 1861, so not sure top artisans from italy had much influence.
Superb video. That has put Siy
À very very inspiring video trip. Thanks for this sharing moments
Bele video, complimenti
Fabulous! I spent a month in Catania, and one in Siracusa, and one in Palermo, but it never felt safe to cycle from city center to the quiet country lanes, so I didn't. This makes me want to try it again, with a bit more courage.
Josh, excellent vid! I grew up in Castellammare! Miss it very much, Sicily is a special place
It really is!
I really enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing this for us! And I hope you are doing well! Working hard makes you stronger! That's what you are! And Never give up! Keep going because you are great! And you got my full support!
😍😍😍
we were there in autumn 22 and wanted to do the sicily devide. unfortunately i had to stop after the second day due to a slipped disc.
the food and the people are great... we will certainly try it again
Thanks for sharing
Very nice video. Beeing a few times in Veneto, Umbria and Lake Garda I can imagine how good the food was. Very friendly and sweet people there….
yo josh , do you have a public track route for this bike trip ?
You've been on my side. Too bad I didn't know this sooner
Hi, which tire width did you use for this trip? Is 40mm enough? BR Andreas
I used 45mm a Hutchinson Tundra on the front and a Touareg on the back
Enticing video Josh and good camera work. How many kms did you cover and how on earth did you
guys seem to have the roads to yourselves? Anyway, I enjoyed that you guys enjoyed it. Thanks
for sharing.
The trip was just under 500km. Not much traffic on the broken roads of Sicily. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Could you share the route ?
Can you post your route please?
I was in Italy last August pisa and Florence
Trap A Nee ?
but that's just a tiny slice of the island. And you didn't manage to go over the common places.
Great video, great views, but... I haven't seen any bike PACKING, to be honest. So.. emmm... rename it, maybe?
Enjoyed the video but I don't think Sicily is a country.
He he he
Say that to a Sicilian......😊
Where’s all your gear? You have a couple of very small bags, but not sufficient to be bike packing? What’s going on?
I was carrying a bag on my back with all the camera gear and we were also staying in hotels. I have plenty of experience in roughing it so nice to do a trip with a bit more luxury.
Aaaaahhh, that video sucks. It just put another place on my list. Nevertheless thx 🙏 😂
