Dude just grab the ratcheting head on the sk with your fingers and twist it a little. This was frustrating to watch.

Wait.......you cannot turn the SK ring with your finger to get it to line up thus solving the problem??? Also, grab a ratchet and socket instead of trying to use a wrench in an impossible position! 21 minutes of beating a dead horse!!!

When working with decorative or soft hardware you use the 6 pt for greater distributed contact area and strength. 12 points are for speed and are generally weaker and can mar finishes on hardware because of multiple point contacts. Also a 12-point wrench will destroy and round off rusty nuts.

Certainly, but the 12 point allows easier engagement of the ratchet (especially in confined spaces).

Diezelle, By the way, the Milwaukee wrench I gave you measurements on has a 2.5 degree arc swing.

diezelle, I do not have the Wera nor the ratcheting Facom wrenches but I do have 4 of the SK X-Frames For the last 3 or 4 years. When you run into the problem shown at the start of the video, were the boxed end is not rotated were you want it just use your other hand to rotate or index the boxed end to were you need it. On the open end, the SK teeth in the open jaw are to make it harder to round off the fastener by not griping the corners of the hex head. The SK and Facom open ends both need to turn the screw 60 degrees to get to the next corner (true the Facom does not have to leave or losses contact with the hex head). The Wera open end similar to a 12 point only has to rotate or index 30 degrees to get to the next corner on the hex head nut or screw. I have had a problem with the SK wrench in the fact that the Outside diameter of the boxed end is fatter than other lower tooth count ratcheting boxed end wrenches (like gearwrench) and way bigger than the boxed end of a non-ratcheting wrench. I liked the video and see your busy today uploading many thing, great job.

Have you tried an SK wrench in a dirty environment? Is the ratchet sufficiently sealed against dust and dirt?

@@diezelle57 So far, no problem with dirt or road grim. But that is a big problem for most ratcheting wrehes. And because of the I am in the habit of using WD40 to spray off the wrench boxed end. So that could be why I have not had that problem.

Ratchet SK 13: diameter 25 mm thickness 9.6 mm
Ratchet FACOM 13: diameter 25 mm thickness 8.6 mm
Ratchet WERA 13: diameter 25.5 mm thickness 8.5 mm
The body of the SK key is significantly more massive than those of the FACOM and WERA keys. I imagine that in the event of a destructive force on a combination wrench, it will be the ratchet or the fork that will break or bend before the body. As the ends of the keys are almost identical in terms of the amount of material used, I deduce that SK could have saved material and reduced weight ... Unless it was intended to be used as a lever bar. ..

@@diezelle57 There is a 2 minute video youtube channel name "SK Tools" called "The SK X-Frame Ratcheting Wrench" and starting about 11 seconds into the video they show the drawings of the internal part one end has a screw in face plate but the other end does not show a seal.

Lol!😅 you have nut bolt screwed into a wood, the nut bolt is supposed to screwed into another nut thats threaded not just into plain wood, if your using a ratcheting wrench. Lol! Thats why your having difficulty turning the bolt, this video is pointless. Lol!
