  • You have to at least try a SK X-Frame wratcheting wrench before you come to your own opinion. The 6-pawl design is very interesting, and doesn't seem to lose integrity, while still offering 216 different positions in a rotation. We tear one down for you to see.
    In addition to the ratcheting end, SK also added some gripping technology on the open-end as well. The Sure Grip technology on the open end allows the wrench to bite on the sides of the bolt/nut, not the points or tips. In our testing, we could actually see the bite marks on the grade-8 bolt.
    SK offers the X-Frame ratcheting wrenches in a SAE and a Metric set. The Metric set comes with 12 wrenches, from 8mm to 19mm, including the 12, 15 and 18. The SAE set comes with only 7 wrenches, from 3/8" to 3/4", including 11/16".

    How long is a Lifetime Warranty from a company that's just been taken over by a Chinese company?

    Only thing that keeps me from buying these is the very limited sizes...

    Nice review. I've had the metric set for about a year and love them. Only problem is working in the rust belt. Open end wrenches of all designs just don't bite rust. That six point side is awesome though!

      Yes they have, and it looks like all the SK stuff is not made in the USA anymore either. Thanks for watching.

    Love mine. Have beat the crap out of them for 3 years and they still work great. Are you going to review their new flare nut ratcheting wrenches?

      Yes, these SK wrenches are quality tools. We will probably review the new flare nut wrenches soon. Thanks for watching.

    Great video thanks for sharing. SK if you're listening I'd like to buy a set of XL locking flex head SK ratchet wrenches in 12pt. Metric & SAE & stubby locking flex head SK's in 12pt. Metric & SAE. A lot of bolts in Aviation are 12pt.. I don't mind paying extra for good quality made in the USA tools & I wish everyone would do the same for vehicles, electronics, appliances etc..

    I just found your channel and subbed. These SK wrenches are great. I just bought another set for my son. I rather buy a set than loan mine out. He loves them too.

    Nice video, but 44 ft/lbs? Oh, come on! Put a decent size bolt in there, lock it down and see if they can twist the head off of it. Actually I know the open end can from this guys video: ruclips.net/video/VqQ-PshbvWY/видео.html
    I was more interested in the ratcheting end, and since you kept talking about wanting to see how strong the design was, I was hoping you'd really stress them to see what they could do.

    These are the strongest ratchet end I think it distributes tourq evenly across the whole end instead of just the bottom

    The wrench will not break in normal use without using a cheater pipe. ruclips.net/video/k25UmCWNcz4/видео.html here is the vid you will see the cheater pipe on it. He has one other vid I believe that he repeats this against other brands

    I’ll assume these are no good on chrome

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  4 года назад

      They could potentially damage a chrome fastener. Although, this is a lot less pronounced than on other wrenches we've tested.
