Had for 2 months, decided to keep even though 2 sizes were China made, not USA made, because I got a good size credit From Amazon and kept them, but one size keeps freezing up!! I won't buy anymore sk!!
Thank you for shinning a light on SK's attempt to dupe buyer's into believing they are made in USA, and exposing them for their poor quality. Very thankful for this information!
I just bought a set of these in metric and SAE today. They came in a black and green foam organizer from Lowe’s for $49.99/set. I also picked up a 3/8” SK socket set for $29.99. They both work well. We’ll see how they work. They also have a 3-pc SK adjustable wrench set for $19.99…I passed on those - I have enough already.
You got a fantastic deal!! i paid $170 for 7 piece set it was supposed to be usa stock,it wasnt!! i broke one the second time i used it!! they are cool design but bulky!! let me know how they hold up!! take care!!

@@jefftovani5535 I watched a Project Farm video on the many wrench options, and these SK’s came out as the top performers…we’ll see. The open end test did break the wrench, but the ratcheting end was super strong!
They look like a nice set of wrenches. I like the 6 point box ends and the open end looks grippy. Unfortunately I don't plan on buying new SK in the future. It says Made in the USA on the box and they slip two Chinese wrenches in. SK's pricing is at or near the tool trucks. I'm not paying those prices for Made in China tools. As far as pricing on tools goes, I've noticed manufacturers are charging more for metric sets vs. SAE sets. I stopped buying SAE tools as I have enough to cover those fasteners. I guess since metric is now the norm manufacturers figure they can get away with charging more for those sets. Thanks Jeff for taking the time and effort buying and showing these tools. You are doing an excellent job!
Yes sir, sk is going down that dark,no return path to failure!!! yea metric sets are where everybody is headed!! glad i didnt buy the $400 metric set!!! hope you guys are getting good info!! stay tuned, thank you for your great support!!
The last ratcheting ratchet I bought maybe about 5 years ago where the SK X frames definitely all of them made in the USA I kind of like them I never had a chance to really use them I'm using my usa-made Craftsman for many years It's a shame seeing a SK Tool not Marked USA
Hi hack, the ones you got are better than these, no doubt, these being made in china and usa mix,was very dissapointing to see, one has bad gears, and sticks!! sk gone down hill!! your usa craftsman are still going strong, not suprised, the usa stock was good!! stay tuned!!
My understanding is that there were frequent breakage issues with the made in USA ones. So it is likely that the "missing" ones in this set were robbed out of the original set and used to warranty somebody's broken ones. And, after the reorganization (takeover by China) the set was made complete with the Taiwan ones.
Hi guy, that would sure make sence!! very disapointing to have mixed usa/china set!! these are to much money to be pulling that crap!! oh well!! stay tuned!!
I have the metric set, all USA made, and some of them were sticking like that when manipulating them by hand. But just like my Snap-On ratchets and torque wrenches, my Blue-Point (Williams) ratcheting wrenches, and even my old Gearwrench ratcheting wrenches, they require a little break-in (one, maybe two uses) and are smooth as butter now. Funny part is they'd stick when you played with them, but didn't misbehave while being used for actual work. These are not my go-to, all-occasion ratcheting wrenches, but they do get used in a lot of 4 wheel alignments where access to certain eccentrics or lock nuts is difficult or just in a weird position without enough room to swing a 72 or 80 tooth wrench, even with a 0° offset. One thing to mention is they almost always get noticed by someone and start conversations, which could be either bad or good, depending 😂
Hi my friend thanks for joining in!! im glad you have and use them!! great feedback, yea could be the gears need breaking in!! i was most upset with paying good money, for usa product and having china mixed in!! they are cool looking design though!! thanks again for your thoughts!!
Thanks for the heads up .I will say your the second RUclipsr I've seen have issues with thoses wrenches south main auto had issue with his not holding up and he ended up using them for a home set.
Hi james, yea i would stay clear of this set!! to much money for usa and china mixed in!! thier not a strong design, gears are to finicky!!! stay tuned my friend!!
I got some sk double box flex xxl metrics, theyre "old SKs" ($135 on amazon), a very nice set, not too strong for breaking fasteners loose(i broke my 15mm), but theyre long, skinny, and have a great deep offset.
Hi marko, i hated bashing SK because when i was young they were one of my favorite brands!! im done with sk, at least for now!! unless i find old usa stock!! thanks for your input!!
I really like SK being from Chicago, I have many fond thoughts of nostalgia.... Like you, i will not tolerate them sneaking in chineeseum parts & complete wrenches from china! I think what urks me the most, is not only are the materials & quality inferior, The price is as high or higher than USA made‼ It's a real shame how these once great American corporations all sold out to china.
Yea its a damn shame how much these cost, and the quality is not thier!! china mixed in with usa stock, thats damn shame!! i have 3 more brands to show, stay tuned!!
Hi xx, i also couldnt wait to try them out!! very dissapointed with them!! would never recommend at any price point!! thanks for joining in my friend, more to come!
@jefftovani5535 the only ratcheting wrench set o want to collect is overpriced due to it being discontinued. The proto anti slip xls looks like a regular percision torque wrench
Definitely a shame that they tried sneaking the Chinese made wrenches in. It's still a decent looking set, but it just doesn't sit right once you feel like you've been lied to.
A lot of guys have had that issue getting some items usa some not. SK isn’t for me anymore unless I see a killer deal. I have some SK I really like the brand but just such a shame how they were bought by a Chinese company and not someone here in the US to keep a good name behind the brand.

SK tools was bought out by Ideal industries around 2010, and in 2021 they were bought out by a chinese tool conglomerate. And your right, SK has never been the same. I invested in a massive impact socket array from SK around 2011, great sockets. I'd love a made in the usa tool company like Dewalt step up and buy SK.
@@rustedhorsepower5132 glad I got my SK stuff when ideal still owned them got a few chrome socket sets a 1/4 inch ratchet and a screwdriver set all are still serving me great years later

@@jefftovani5535 A few day ago I help my next door neighbor tighten his garage door up and we were using his ratcheting wrench from Menards called Masterforce. they seem like rebounded gearwrench, so I would say middle of the road but on the cheap side of cost.

They are chunky and I don't like the holes in the beam for some reason wow for that money you would expect much better
Yea they are clunky!! way over priced, mixed stock, bad gears in 11/16, its a shame what happened to sk!!
The simple fact that they tried to hide two chinese items in a box of usa items is very , Sketchy for me at least.
Yea it was sneaky!! god damn shame what they become, china!!! will this ever end!!
Too bulky to be practical, but they look cool, not too functional tho
Yea they do look cool, big and bulky, gears are rough on one wrench!! not buying anymore sk, unless i find usa stock!!
Soo sad to see 😞
Yea it really is!! Hated to trash SK but people need to know!!
