As an open-end wrench is thinner than a ratchet, the use of the adapter allows access to more confined spaces. Example: with a 1/2" ratchet, you gain 8 mm.

I am happy as a retiree in France. I am a poet and philosopher of tools, in particular. Collector and contemplative, I respect my tools too much to use them except in cases of force majeure. I have lots of other tools, not allowed in my collection, which I use for tinkering.

Diezelle, you can also use the open end of the wrenches on the adaptors. I have two sets one in SAE (3 piece set) and metric ( a 4 piece set). Do not use them all that much but the bit adaptor is the most used one. Do you have the 13mm wrench to 3/8" socket drive ?
Diezelle, I find this a little funny but I do not see a Facom ADAPT 13mm to 3/8"drive on the Facom USA site. But for example my Diralast set has 4 pieces 1) 19mm wrench to 1/2" socket drive 2) 13mm wrench to 3/8" socket drive 3) 10mm wrench to 1/4" socket drive 4) 10mm wrench to 1/4" bit drive.

No, not at all for R180 and R180HX ratchets, only on 10mm eye ratchet wrench.
