I have the 71 01 250 and it cuts with much less effort due to the 10" long handles for greater leverage. The reason you buy a mini bolt cutter is to cut things a diagonal pliers can't, things like thick nails, screws, and small bolts, but not so big and heavy like a standard 18" to 36" bolt cutter, The 10" is a perfect tool you can use with one hand and still offer enough leverage to cut thing that an 8" can't and is still in a reasonably small size.
