John Doe Oooh someone needs a midol. I’m WELL AWARE of what the met gala represents. These people have soo much money at their disposal to create the most fantastically extravagant outfit!! They could turn heads toward them in awe rather than away so they can laugh at them! They are not artists in the sense of being able to conceptualize an outfit that is museum worthy piece of art such as , say ... Gustav Klimt, “The Kiss” oil painting.
Using every color, shade, and pattern to create something that SHOULDN’T be, but very much IS visually appealing.
Rather, THEY miss the point by spending thousands to look tarred and feathered.
Even THAT could be a MET look if a truly artistic celebrity (Gaga) could convey it!
Most of these dresses are hideous and resemble a 4th graders dream dress...or dollar store Halloween costume! Seriously? A chandelier? (I get it...take away function-it’s art.) I was a gum-ball machine in kindergarten. Hmm?
Art is subjective. But this doesn’t even resemble art.
