Shannon, here's a great tip my grandma taught me. Put sponges into the bottom of planters. They take up space, keep planters from overflowing and at the same time help your plants roots thrive!
Instead of buying those water bulbs, rinse and fill a wine bottle with water and just flip it over. Can also use multiple as a border. The best part though, if the wine bottle has an indent on the bottom big enough to fill with a little water, butterflies can land safely on the side without getting their wings wet & get a drink 💜
Well, I was watching a video on how to help your depression. I accidentally hit the button to go to the next video and so here I am. I loved every single one of your DIY's, especially the butterfly! This video brought me some happiness and joy. I've never seen ANY of these diy's before. I'm SO GLAD I found you by accident 😂 I subscribed after seeing the butterfly.
Shannon, I think you deserve all sorts of awards. I've been watching your videos through the years. You've become so very polished and professional. It's so great to see you're still going strong. I especially love your talent of anticipating what questions are going to be asked. It proves the tons of experience you have that you've put to good use.
Aww 🥰 thank you! I appreciate all of your kind words. Thank you for noticing the little things that all have to come together to make a watchable video. 🤗🤗🤗
Great haul and thanks for sharing. Try looking into RUclips videos for sewing I am sure they have videos for beginners. My Mom used to watch crocheting videos on RUclips and she learned alot. Try it. For the lips....best is Vaseline and aquaphor ointment at night. I had problems with dry lips and I was allergic to some of the lip gloss. Worked for me!! Try it. Again, thank you for sharing and hugs for Fin and Pip❤❤
All of these projects are great and you hit it out of the park...so many nice and useful things. I love the trellis for the climbing plant. I think the paver that your son painted is so cute and I love the side table too! All of the paver ideas are wonderful! I love the buckets too. It's always amazing what you accomplish and you have amazing ideas Shannon!🍉 ♥
Love love love the hanging chandelier! I made a similar thing years ago with garden fence and tea lights but the solar lights take that up ten notches! ❤️
For those who are wondering about protecting the metal planters: I like to repurpose old metal boxes for planters, using trash bags and a good couple of coats of clear inside and out. My favorite ones are the heavy 33 gallon 1.5 ml trash can bags from Rural King Farm Store that I get for my rolling garage bin. I push inside the box, cut it about 3 -4 inches wider all the way around, fill with dirt and flowers...pretty planter makeover is done 😊
Hey y’all! You can also use those mesh bags when you’re going to the beach and when you’re cleaning up when you get home, all you have to do is shake the sand off of the toys while keeping them in the mesh bags!
I just made those butterflies 2yrs ago for friends and family, and even cemetery. They loved them all. Just 1 thing, if using DT lights you will have to change the tops out each year.
@linaleblanc8288 thank you!😊 DT lights offered that little bit of light needed. If 🦋 is in direct sunlight over time, they may need updating due to fading.
USE CAUTION WHEN USING ANY METAL CONTAINERS IN YOUR GARDEN FOR PLANTING. If the container is not specifically manufatured for plants you have to worry about the metal rusting and leaching into the plants water supply. The plants can be poisoned by the rust and become susceptible to damage by bugs and other disease. It's good to protect the metal with Rust-Oleum and to either line the container with plaatic or use plastic or fiber pots for the plants. Keep metal out of direct sun light as well. The metal will become hot, heating the soil and potentially burn the roots of your plants.
Solar lights - do NOT want to take away from what you shared. but did want to share that I was looking for something at Walmart and noticed that the solar lights there were 77 cents. I was shocked bc I do buy a lot at dollar tree myself. Laundry baskets - great for garden and growing potatoes etc
Maybe with that gazing ball/solar light...put some flower foam in the bottom of the planter to hold the light stick upright? or some rocks/sand etc. Or some nano tape around the top edges of the light to hold it to the top. As always very imaginative and absolutely cute designs!
Tge hanging Chandelier is lovely! I would have twisted off the solar glass neck and added a few compact mirrors. It would glow a little bit brighter. BUT hello awesome idea!!!!!! 😎
Hey Shannon if I’m correct I do believe blackberries take a few years to start producing. I remember my neighbor saying something along that line. I would check into it. Thanks for all the great ideas. 😃
Is that turtle is adorable! You could take a 2 or 4 round brush and add some brown fanned out stripes on each scute to make it look like a green sea turtle. When you had the round paver and put the first 3 Crescent pavers on, I was certain you were doing a puppy paw for previous miss honey, but then you kept going. 😢 lol. Wow, to your lil man. Super creative, & fantastic attention to detail on his watermelon with the stripes. He did such a great job! Love your ladybug, & wire basket shelves too!
These are all great. Last year I made the butterflies and put them on my gate. Have a wonderful week. Sorry to hear about your father-in-law. May he rest in peace.
Loved the wall shelves you made out of the wire basket. I will be doing that!! All the other DIYs were also amazing!! Always enjoy your videos!! Lots of ideas and tips and tricks!
This is just great Shannon, awesome.Thank you so much.I am the least crafty person.Well, I'm witchy, but I'm not crafty. You know what I mean... Lol. The point is having a summer solstice dinner tomorrow outside and I wanted to make the backyard patio a little more special. Some great ideas here.Really appreciate you. Happy solstice 🌞!
@Timothytull152- you are so right. My niece sent me some packets of seed. I planted them. (I usually have a green thumb as the saying goes). I planted 7 packages and only 4 seeds came up. I was so disappointed. So I told my niece. She informed me she just bought them at Dollar Tree. So I went to another store and got a few packets. They are doing marvelous! Those little $5 tables don't last long either..... sorry. Sometimes truth hurts.. The rest of the video is awesome
I purchased the citronella incense last week, just a heads up they are very very very strongly scented I don't recommend them for anyone like myself that has sinus issues. Love the hanger butterfly
I'm watching you the first time, Your projects are so clever, and something you'd like to have in your home, I'll be following you, best wishes...Renee in Colorado 🎉
Your street number or your last initial on the bucket in the last project would be cool. I love all the ideas. I just got a new deck with really wide steps, I think I will do some and put them there. I love the butterfly.
Instead of pool noodles use sponges cut up. It will help hold water during the dryer days and still helps you to not use so much potting soil. I don’t use a lot because I like the roots to have as much dirt as they need.
The blackberry bush didn't survive because 1, there was too much air on the roots because of the pool noodles. If you use this hack, the noodles are full of air, so you need to place a spacer on top, like a plant saucer. 2 the noodles are polyfoam and would cause the water to drain away too fast. The use of a spacer- with drainage holes, can fix both of these problems, but it does shorten the space needed for the root ball to grow. I do the same thing, but I use large rocks. They weigh the pot down so it cannot be knocked over by strong winds or me dragging the water hose around, and I pack my soil tightly in all of the gaps between the rocks and water it down to release any air bubbles. Then add the plant, and water it again so that any air introduced is released. The rocks act as a perfect weighted spacer, the roots can grow between and around them, and the water that drains out is clear of soil, so that I avoid soil loss during watering. They also provide a nice anchor point for trellising. If you are doing a stackable, like a high water hanging plant over a lower water potted plant, you can place some pea gravel on the bottom, of the hanging planter so that it doesn't lose soil but can still drip excess water into the lower planter, watering both plants at once. Also, some spray paints are toxic to plants, so painting the inside rim may have caused toxic chemicals to be released into your plant, not sure if the pool noodles release toxins over time or not, but it makes sense that they may.
I see you're planting a nice little blackberry bush. I did the same thing 5 yrs ago. But my son in law just plopped it down in a lil hole in the ground in front of my house. It is now 8' high x 30' long x 6' deep. Every harvest 12 of my nbrs each get a 2 gallon bag of berries. TWICE. Good luck w/ that tiny little pot. It's a cute idea, though. I did prune them back last fall, but they came back even bigger. I'm running out of nbrs!😂
⭐AMAZING uses for 5 gallon buckets! Great for spring and summer: ruclips.net/video/uDJu_w-o8zs/видео.html
Do those solar lights need to be in sunlight all day or just outdoor light ??
@sharones6086 I found those Dollar Tree solar lights do not last but a short time. Water gets into them and then will not work.
@alleyoop6757
Thanks for the info !
Shannon, here's a great tip my grandma taught me. Put sponges into the bottom of planters. They take up space, keep planters from overflowing and at the same time help your plants roots thrive!
Thanks fir sharing. I just watched a video and they cut up pool noodles in the larger pots and planters. I will try the sponges in my smaller pots

😊👍👋 my grandfather and dad always put a little oil in the sand to store garden tools.
I do this too! Keeps them from rusting!

Fill the mini terracotta pot with shavings of the incense that way it smokes wider covering more areas .
If you add mineral oil to the sand in your planter, it keeps metal tools from rusting. 😊

OMG great idea's I loved them all enjoyed watching your video thanks
I work at a nursery sometimes you have to be careful with the seeds from the Dollar Tree some of them are old and they don't produce very well
Yes I learned the hard way. I had good luck with the carrots. They’ve been coming back but they’re smaller than they say
I bought 2 pks of flower seeds , there were no seeds , just a little packing material in it.
Yep, I learned this the hard way, too. Total waste of money, not even a sprout.

the wire trays you are making shelves out of were the famous wire filing trays for post, paperwork etc for office use! Prehistoric !!!
The basket turned shelf was ingenious! I don’t understand why you drowned the flowers in a bucket 🤔
Before you push your tools into the sand, add a good amount of motor oil. It will keep your tools rust free.
I would have lined the toolbox with plastic or just set pots inside, at the very least sealed it to keep it from rusting.😊

Thanks for the bug sti
