I use this product, and I LOVE IT! So far, I've applied two times and my hair is two almost three shades lighter!!! Literally worked since the first application.
Wow...So glad to find your video. Just discovered this product recently and been nervous about trying and so undecided. I love your results. Beautiful! No orange...I'm sold. I'll purchase right away. Thank you!
F.Y.I. It worked great and I didn't go outside at all. 💛 I didn't dry my hair either. Just air dry. I used it on dry hair and damp hair. Easy breezy...
I think I had used it 2-3 times when I filmed then end of the video. It definitely works gradually, but you can really tell a difference after a few uses, especially in the sun
The product would probably wash out after you shower. You’d want to reapply it after washing your hair. But once it has lightened your hair the lightening is permanent.
I bought this product but I have curly hair the reason why I got it is because I used to have highlights in my hair and for some reason my hair turned into a light brown and I miss my highlights. At first I was a little scared cause I had spent 15 dollars as well so it was pretty pricey but after watching this video I’m actually really happy to see the results but I hope it doesn’t do anything to my curls wish me luck 🙌🏻
If you use it more, you'll have the same problems with orange-ness as the sun in stuff. It's not because either product is better it's just that when you destroy the darker pigments in your hair the orange ones are easier to see. So just a light application like what she did won't make your hair orange but if you did it every day, you'd better get a purple shampoo and conditioner, some kind of hair mask and a swim cap. You don't want any green streaks in your hair from chlorine and you don't want brittleness from having acid in your hair so often

I’ve been through both. 😔 I naturally have gold undertones and I find that weird for someone who doesn’t look good in gold jewelry. Idk
Hey Brianna! Great video. Just curious, what would you consider you natural hair color to be? And do you still use this product? Do you find that you need to “touch up” your roots every now and then because there is a noticeable color difference between what you sprayed in and new growth?
My natural color is basically what the start of the video was and it’s kind of a dark blonde to light brown. I have touched it up over the last year, but lately I’ve let it grow out and I have this kind of effortless ombré. Because the change in color is so subtle, you can apply to your roots in a few months just once or twice and it will blend really well with the highlighted parts from the previous applications.
I am not sure tbh. I don't think the color result would be orange, especially if your highlights are already really light. But I am a little worried it could over process your hair that is highlighted and that might cause breakage. You should try with a super small section of highlighted hair if you use it before you do all of your hair to make sure there isn't any damage.
It will be permanent once you’ve lightened your hair. It will probably be subtle if you only use it once or twice. But it won’t go back to your natural color.
omg you’re so sweet, thank u you too! 💖 the thing is that amazon increase the price of the product plus the shipping. but let me see what i can do, thanks. stay safe!!
I have used and I really like it. I just cannot find the information on a good protocol to follow. Does it work gradually if you don't apply every time you are on the sun?
Do you need to use a color treated hair shampoo after using sun bum? Or regular shampoo for natural hair? I really want to lighten my hair but just wasn't sure what to expect
Hey! I just kept using the shampoo I was using before, but if you wanted to enhance your hair you could try a shampoo made for colored hair. Purple shampoo will bring out more cool colors for example. But I don’t think you have to buy something specially for colored hair.
Hey! I just kept using the shampoo I was using before, but if you wanted to enhance your hair you could try a shampoo made for colored hair. Purple shampoo will bring out more cool colors for example. But I don’t think you have to buy something specially for colored hair.
Hi, I just got the spray but was wondering if it will cause damage to my hair like is any of its ingredients bad for hair? I never dyed my hair because I try to stay away from anything that can cause damage to my hair so I don’t want to use this if it’s like the dye!
So the main ingredient that’s going to create lightening is hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide will permanently lighten your hair, and it can cause damage. But this product is fairly gentle. If you are using it as the bottle recommends, you shouldn’t see any damage. By as the bottle recommends, I mean just apply it once between shampoos and monitor for any dryness with every application. I’ve used it about 3-4 times a month for about a year and I don’t have dry or damaged hair. But I really recommend trying just a small section first to see how you like the effects.
Hi sorry for the late reply. I thought I replied to this and forgot to actually send it! If you have dark brown hair this may turn your hair a bit of an orange shade or give it a very warm tone. It would be worth the time to try it on a small section of hair and see if you like the results. There is nothing wrong with a orange or brassy hue, but some people really looking for a neutral or cool toned blonde may not like the results if you’re starting with dark brown hair. My hair is quite blonde, maybe even light brown. But I did like the results and had no brassy or orange results
I would reapply the product and concentrate it on the new growth a little more and go in the sun. It blended it pretty nicely. I did grow it out for a while without reapplying and it looked obvious but I kind of liked it. The transition wasn’t as harsh of a line as traditional highlights or a full coloring
I don’t know what it would do to black hair. It likely won’t turn it blonde but it would maybe lighten to a brown. If you buy it try it on a small section to see what happens. It shouldn’t damage your hair, but if it turns orange or something you probably don’t want to do your whole head at first. Let us know if you try it!
the primary ingredient in this spray is hydrogen peroxide, just like with sun in spray. it’s essentially a light wash of bleach, depending on how much you use, so please don’t use it in black hair! it will turn your hair orange, especially if you use a lot of it.
edoe oi no it won’t. A bunch of my friends have very dark hair and it worked really nicely. It’s not blonde but a lighter brown. Use a purple shampoo or the toner spray
Brianna Blithe yah I got it a few days ago actually. And I can already tell a difference! my hair is curly naturally and is a frizzy mess. But yours is so gorgeous I’m jealous. Maybe it’s because I’m a guy idk??
Oh no way... frizz happens to everyone. If you’re not using a good conditioner that can make a big difference. And if that doesn’t do the trick applying some hair oil makes a world of difference
Hey, how many times a week do you spray this on your hair ? And do you have to stay out in the sunlight after you spray ? Or can you just stay in door till it dries, because we rarley have a sun here where I live
Anastasia Stone I think I used it like a totally of 5-7 times, and that was a couple of times a week when I had time off work. You’ll have stronger results in the sun than just spraying on your hair and staying indoors. If you don’t have sunlight, you can try to blow dry your hair with the spray in. But be careful, use a light amount of spray, lowest heat setting, gentle brushing strokes, and check frequently how your hair is tolerating everything. If you see any damage stop and let your hair air dry.
I was looking at this product on amazon and I was a little scared but I bought it anyway and your video makes me feel so much better!!!! (p.s you look amazing I think you should stay blonde!) Also can you blow dry it I'm supposed to do it soon but this week its going to rain where I live.
You can absolutely get some highlights with just the blow dryer, you don’t have to be in the sun. It may not work quite as fast, but you’ll have more than enough to get the desired look in the bottle. It just may take a couple of applications
Would this spray be good to use after bleaching and toning my wig there’s still some brassy spots and I didn’t do a good job bleaching so would this be a good solution
This might be a good option if the hair color isn’t too dark. Some people in the comments have said that dark brown or black hair will turn orange - so you may not want that at all. I would test it on a small section and see how it changes. Since it’s already been processed with bleach, you really want to look for any signs of damage or over-processing.
I usually stay in the sun until the dampness from the spray has completely dried, and that’s long enough for me. Maybe 30-45 minutes. You can stay longer but I think that’s enough to notice a gradual difference
Thanks Aimee. I cut my hair recently so short that it’s just my natural dark blond/light brown color. I’m planning on using the lightening spray again soon to brighten it up a bit
It could make your hair really brittle or actually break if you’re not cautious. Try a very small section before you do your whole head. You may be able to get some color change without damage, but it’s worth the extra time to spray a small section first and see how it looks and feels after a few hours. I would want to style my tested section of hair with heat too just to be sure it can handle the extra processing and still be styled
i loove the natural colour of your hair to begin with, gorgeous caramel type colour 🥰 but i definitely notice a difference :D it looks great regardless!! thank you so much for the video, im definitely gonna have to get it before the sun disappears on us for the rest of the year :)
@@briannablithe youre welcome and im in canada!! oh gosh living in Alaska seems like a dream although ive heard it can be harsh too, what was your favourite part of it? 😍
Oh Canada is so beautiful 😍 I’ve been through on the AL-CAN twice and was totally in love with it. Alaska is pretty special, it’s not like anywhere else I’ve been. The community is a little more tough and relaxed at the same time. The cold can be extreme but usually it’s just a normal thing when your used to it.
Honestly if you don’t reapply it occasionally may be kind of a harsh line. I used this regularly last year until about October - when I had a baby. I took some photos when my baby was about three months old and you could really see the difference in growth (especially when I took photos and applied a filter). I’ve used it again occasionally since then and it’s blended in pretty nicely.
hi so I used this product last summer and as my hair grew throughout the winter it did leave a pretty harsh line which is really annoying but I think if you keep using it occasionally you shouldn't have too much of an issue.
This is a tough question. Are you going for highlights or a full color? I think it will be a blend of the two. You won't have streaky highlights, but areas in the sun may lighten slightly more than the hair on the bottom of your hairstyle, like at the nape of your neck. Does that help at all?
I'm just wondering if you found that your hair became slightly more dry or brittle after use. I know peroxide weakens the hair bonds. I want to try this but scared it will damage my hair and cause breakage!
I was really concerned about this too because my hair is really fine, and it doesn’t usually stand up to any kind of processing well - especially lightening. But I did not find it to be damaging or drying at all, even after several uses. I grew my hair really long after this video and it stayed strong over time
i think it would work slightly better on clean hair, but you don’t have to wash it out after you use it. I would just wait to wash your hair as part of your normal routine.
Once you put it in and it lightens your hair, the results are permanent. It takes a couple of uses to get noticeable results as it’s very subtle lightening with each application
I loved your video, it was so helpful!! Quick question, do you have to wash it out after using it? Will it damage your hair if you leave it in, and is it okay to do this a few days in a row? Thank you!
The bottle says to only use it once between shampoos, so to keep it nice and gentle on your hair I would just make sure to get a shower if you use it multiple days in a row. That way it won't be accumulating and having any strange results for you. I did use it for a couple of days in a row and I had no issues with damage - but I was showering in between. Also, on days that I was at the beach and my hair was getting wet I would reapply lightly throughout the day and that didn't seem to be a problem. I don't think it will hurt your hair if you apply it once and then don't wash your hair for a couple of days. I'm pretty sure I have done that because I really love the smell of the spray and didn't want to wash it and restyle it each day that I used it. If you do leave the stray in your hair I would avoid using a hot styling tool like a straightener or blow dryer because that may create some damage.
I’ve only used it about 3 times over the last two years. It lightens so much that I didn’t need to use it again. My roots are darker of course as they grow in, but I don’t mind the look.
I have done that before and it works basically the same. I just go slowly - applying a little at the roots and brushing it through my hair. It’s pretty easy to blend if you don’t apply a whole bunch at once
Awe thank you! Well my hair is very very short right now! I just buzzed it off. I was thinking of making a video about that 😂 but perhaps I could try it out on my short hair!
Hey Emily! Thanks for the compliment love. I was having a self-care kind of day when I recorded this and that always makes everyone look their best if you ask me! About outside - I think it will be faster if you are able to get in some sunshine. BUT if you can’t you can try blow drying your hair on low temp and that should help create results too.
I wouldn’t recommend using sunburn for that. It won’t take out anything that’s in your hair from the water deposits. You should look up Malibu C for hard water - it works wonders for that. I’ll past a link here Malibu C Hard Water Wellness Hair Remedy www.amazon.com/dp/B0019HYC6G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_hBCbGbE64WT20
I’ve used it...it definitely did make a difference but it still doesn’t seem “normal’. I’m wondering if maybe it was a two part problem, I haven’t been outside much since COVID, so perhaps my natural lightening as stopped, so,it still looks weird to me as a result? Honestly I have no idea whats going on...just that it’s weird lol
Oh, I think I get what you’re talking about. My color is really dark at my “roots” which is like 6 inches now because I haven’t cut my hair since all of this started. You’re probably right about not being out and not getting that natural lightening affect much. If that’s what you’re hoping for then sunburn will certainly help
@@briannablithe tried it and it actually made a huge difference, kind of mind blowing seeing it was just one wash and a blow dryer (we have cold winters haha, so had to create a sun.). I am shook. Wish I had a way of sharing results because wowza.
Hey :) I didn’t have any damage from this. I followed the directions. If your hair already has been bleached or lightened heavily, or permed, then you may want to take caution using this. Otherwise you should be able to get some lightening without any damage
Thank you! For good results you can go in the sunshine for about 30 minutes to maybe an hour after applying it to your hair. Be sure to wear sunblock :) if you don’t have a sunny day, you can also use a blow dryer after spraying in your hair and the heat will creating some lightening as well!
The first ingredient in Sun Bum is peroxide, just like Sun In... I don't know how the company would be able to avoid damage? Hoping to lighten up the slightly darker out growth in my hair.
The first ingredient in both of them is water, then hydrogen peroxide. I’m wondering if the water concentration is higher in one brand over the other? I haven’t tried Sun In since high school, but I hated it. It does have faster results, but I think it is harsher and leaves your hair looking more orange. I really thought the Sum Bum was more gentle, but still had noticeable results after 2-3 uses.
How dark is your root growth? And are you putting it on hair that’s been highly lightened? That could make some serious damage, and you may be better off to go to a stylist for a touch up
I don’t think it will. My hair is pretty dark, maybe light brown to dark blonde. Sun in made my hair kind of orange years ago - but this Sunbum, made it a nice golden blonde. It’s wasn’t brassy at all.
You’re so sweet! 💙 I did not have any damage to my hair after using this. I loved how gentle it was. But I used it gradually (applying once or twice a week) and I haven’t processed my hair in addition to this. If I had a perm, or if I had bleached my hair before using this I would expect it to make your hair more fragile. If you have bleached hair or relaxed or permed hair you may want to try it in a small section and see how it affects your hair. If you see damage you could at least avoid damaging your whole head
Girl it contains hydrogen peroxide which is the strongest version of peroxide you can get… it hits your hair heavier than a normal bleaching. It looks good tho
You’re right! I made this video ages ago and eventually realized it has peroxide in it and I was kind of surprised because it’s so gentle. I don’t know if it’s watered down, or if it’s other lighteners make it work faster but it’s so effective and gentle! For comparison I used the other brand Sun-in years ago and it was awful 😞 This is definitely more gentle and more gradual 🥰
It works the first time but its very gradual. The first time was subtle. The second time I noticed a real difference but I wasn’t sure anyone else could. By the third time my hair was clearly brighter.
Thanks so much! I bought Sun Bum after watching your video and have used it twice so far! I feel like my hair is a bit lighter but I am definitely planning on using it a few more times. Thanks for your advice :) How many uses do you normally get out of each bottle?
So after the first application I could tell the difference, but my boyfriend didn’t notice anything when I asked him so it was super subtle. If you’re looking for a very noticeable change it may take about 3 applications
Do you know if it’s like bleach? I’m going on a beach vacation (I would be doing it on vacation) but if I go in the pool would it make my hair an ugly green color like bleach would? (Cuz of chlorine) if it does I wouldn’t do it on vacation lol.😂❤️
I actually don’t know. If your hair becomes stained by the chlorine try the Malibu Swimmers Wellness Collection. I haven’t used them for chlorine specifically but I used to live in Alaska and I had really hard water that would turn my hair brownish/orange and their products saved me every time!
Hey Nicole. All you really need to do is apply the spray where you’d like to see the results. Wait in the sun for about 15-20 minutes after applying for faster results. Good luck!
I think you can without much issue. Bleached hair my be more susceptible to damage but this product is super gentle. I doubt it would be too damaging as long as it isn’t immediately after you bleached it
I should get them both and compare them to know for sure about the ingredients. I feel like sun in always damaged my hair and left a really rough texture and not the most exciting color. Sunbum is just so much more gentle. It smells better. It lightens more gradually. It does not create any damage. Different amounts of the same ingredients makes sense!
Brianna Blithe Does that mean that (since my natural hair colour is dark blonde or maybe light brown) the roots will grow out and you’ll see them because it’s lightened my hair
Yes, when your roots grow you’ll be able to see the difference. You can always apply as your hair grows to keep lightening if you don’t want that darker root look.
I tried this for the first time a year ago. You can see on my insta how my hair color changed and how it looked when it grew out. I remember thinking how crazy my roots looked when I took a picture with a filter. That made the growth really stand out. Otherwise it wasn’t too bad for me, you’d barely notice it in person because it looked natural. If you want to see how it looked my insta is briannablithe and I started using April last year. My growth is noticeable around October of last year when I had a baby and forgot all self care routines 😂

Brianna Blithe thank you so much!
You’re welcome!
I’ve never dyed my hair before and I have a dark brown color. Is this only for blondes or people wanting to go blonde?
Hi sorry for the late reply. I thought I replied to this and forgot to actually send it! If you have dark brown hair this may turn your hair a bit of an orange shade or give it a very warm tone. It would be worth the time to try it on a small section of hair and see if you like the results. There is nothing wrong with a orange or brassy hue, but some people really looking for a neutral or cool toned blonde may not like the results if you’re starting with dark brown hair. My hair is quite blonde, maybe even light brown. But I did like the results and had no brassy or orange results
You’re beautiful! Thanks for this review it helped me lots!
Thank you! I’m so glad it helped
Hello ! How do you touch up your roots in order to avoid harsh line and how often. Thankyou
I would reapply the product and concentrate it on the new growth a little more and go in the sun. It blended it pretty nicely. I did grow it out for a while without reapplying and it looked obvious but I kind of liked it. The transition wasn’t as harsh of a line as traditional highlights or a full coloring
Is this good for black hair? Please reply because I'm planning to buy one soon :)
it's recommended for blondes and medium brown hair. I have dark/medium brown hair. I don't think it would on anything darker. sorry :(
I don’t know what it would do to black hair.
That’s awesome. They should make a video so we can see
I got the save spray I’m using on my hair now. Your hair is so perfect too 😩
I feel like I never have perfect hair, but thank you ☺️ Did you like the spray?
Brianna Blithe yah I got it a few days ago actually. And I can already tell a difference! my hair is curly naturally and is a frizzy mess. But yours is so gorgeous I’m jealous. Maybe it’s because I’m a guy idk??
No way, frizz happens to everyone. Are you using conditioner?
No way, frizz happens to everyone. Are you using conditioner?
Oh no way... frizz happens to everyone. If you’re not using a good conditioner that can make a big difference. And if that doesn’t do the trick applying some hair oil makes a world of difference
The right tone all depens in your ‘under’ tone .. bleaching is a process
This was really helpful I bought this but I’m waiting on using it
Hope you like it, let us know when you try it
Hey, how many times a week do you spray this on your hair ?
@@briannablithe Omg I didn't expect you to reply! thank you so much and I can't wait to try this out!!! ❤️
With dark hair it’ll turn it light brown
oh my goshhh youre gorgeous! pretty hair too!
You’re so sweet 💙 thanks joon bhug!
Hi! Curious how long you stayed outside each time you did it?
Rita Elizabeth yes i know that, I meant like how long did she stay outside everytime
I usually stay in the sun until the dampness from the spray has completely dried, and that’s long enough for me. Maybe 30-45 minutes. You can stay longer but I think that’s enough to notice a gradual difference
Brianna Blithe thank you!
I think your hair turned out very nicely 🙂
Thank you!
Blonde male here thanks for the advice👍
Thank you :)
Thanks girl!! I used it before and it worked too
I love it. So much cheaper than highlights!
You are so gorgeous-unique looking in only a positive way! Thanks for the review 💕
Awe, thank you 🥰 thats so kind
So helpful!! Thank you
Ok so i have like bright blonde hair, will this product make it lighter? Because i really dislike my current hair color
I think it should!
I think you'd really suit bright blonde hair or even a red/auburn colour
Thanks Aimee. I cut my hair recently so short that it’s just my natural dark blond/light brown color. I’m planning on using the lightening spray again soon to brighten it up a bit
Hi Brianna I have a question after you used the spray did you wash your hair ?
I don’t think I did that day
I think I waited until the next day. It smells so good that I never wanted to wash it out immediately
Hi!! Okay I am so curious. Is it safe for bleached and toned hair? I’m scared I might damage it.
Thank you! Where are you posting from? I used to live in Alaska and I remember the sun literally fading away for the season. What a time!
When your roots grow out does it leave a harsh line of color difference? or does it just kind of blend together ?
Honestly if you don’t reapply it occasionally may be kind of a harsh line. I used this regularly last year until about October - when I had a baby. I took some photos when my baby was about three months old and you could really see the difference in growth (especially when I took photos and applied a filter). I’ve used it again occasionally since then and it’s blended in pretty nicely.
hi so I used this product last summer and as my hair grew throughout the winter it did leave a pretty harsh line which is really annoying but I think if you keep using it occasionally you shouldn't have too much of an issue.
will it give highlights if i spray it all over or will it lighten all my hair if i spray it all over. My hair lightens easy....
This is a tough question. Are you going for highlights or a full color? I think it will be a blend of the two. You won't have streaky highlights, but areas in the sun may lighten slightly more than the hair on the bottom of your hairstyle, like at the nape of your neck. Does that help at all?
Brianna Blithe yeah i’m going for full colour. This helps a lot ty very much!
@@ilyssad177 You're welcome. Good luck!
Do you rinse your hair after you apply it or just leave it?
You can just leave it in, no need to rinse
I'm just wondering if you found that your hair became slightly more dry or brittle after use. I know peroxide weakens the hair bonds. I want to try this but scared it will damage my hair and cause breakage!
I was really concerned about this too because my hair is really fine, and it doesn’t usually stand up to any kind of processing well - especially lightening. But I did not find it to be damaging or drying at all, even after several uses. I grew my hair really long after this video and it stayed strong over time
Should I wash my hair before or after application? How long should I leave it in my hair before washing it?
i think it would work slightly better on clean hair, but you don’t have to wash it out after you use it. I would just wait to wash your hair as part of your normal routine.
Do you know around how long this product lasts in your hair?
Once you put it in and it lightens your hair, the results are permanent. It takes a couple of uses to get noticeable results as it’s very subtle lightening with each application
Don't let me leave Murph!!
How long can we use it, because I bought the spray 2 years ago can I still use it?
Does it have an expiration date? I wouldn’t use past the expiration date if there is one
If you do leave the stray in your hair I would avoid using a hot styling tool like a straightener or blow dryer because that may create some damage.
how long did u use it for before u stopped?
I used it for like 3 days and I felt like it was as light as I wanted to go
That worked so good on your hair!
Thank you!
@@briannablithe 😊yw
I’m late to the video but how often do you use it? I have used it one time but do you use it every time you wash ur hair?
I’ve only used it about 3 times over the last two years. It lightens so much that I didn’t need to use it again. My roots are darker of course as they grow in, but I don’t mind the look.
@@briannablithe if your hair got to the point to where the roots were darker would you apply it to the roots again?
I have done that before and it works basically the same. I just go slowly - applying a little at the roots and brushing it through my hair. It’s pretty easy to blend if you don’t apply a whole bunch at once
Like a few light applications may work better than one heavy application
Do you have to wash your hair to use it?
You don’t but it would probably give you more consistent results. If you have any product or natural oils in your hair it may not work as well.
I wanna get some soon thx for reviewing ☺️😊
You’re welcome :)
If u kept using it would it turn rly blonde u think
I do think so, I haven’t tried it more than a few times but I imagine it would keep getting lighter.
@@briannablithe how wild u feel about reviewing their blonde tone enhancer just wondering cuz u reviewed so well
Awe thank you! Well my hair is very very short right now! I just buzzed it off. I was thinking of making a video about that 😂 but perhaps I could try it out on my short hair!
Do you have to sit outside? Btw your so pretty !!
Hey Emily! Thanks for the compliment love. I was having a self-care kind of day when I recorded this and that always makes everyone look their best if you ask me! About outside - I think it will be faster if you are able to get in some sunshine. BUT if you can’t you can try blow drying your hair on low temp and that should help create results too.
hey brianna can you blow dry your hair after putting it in?
Yes! This will make it create the highlight effect just like the sun would
Do you think this would work well if hair has been discoloured from chlorine or hard water? I’m having a hard time getting my proper colour back. :(
I wouldn’t recommend using sunburn for that. It won’t take out anything that’s in your hair from the water deposits.
You should look up Malibu C for hard water - it works wonders for that. I’ll past a link here
Malibu C Hard Water Wellness Hair Remedy www.amazon.com/dp/B0019HYC6G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_hBCbGbE64WT20
I’ve tried several times and it’s WONDERFUL.
I am shook. Wish I had a way of sharing results because wowza.
i’m not sure if you are still answering comments, but is this permanent?
Hey, YES it’s permanent! I still have much lighter hair where I’ve used this than my natural color and it’s the only thing I’ve used
Brianna Blithe thank you!! i just used this stuff on my vacation last week and i really like how my hair looks right now so i figured i would ask 🤣
Yay! Glad you liked it! I haven’t used it in months and you can still totally see it in my hair. I’m such a fan
Hey! does this product ruin or damage your hire somehow
Hey :) I didn’t have any damage from this. I followed the directions. If your hair already has been bleached or lightened heavily, or permed, then you may want to take caution using this. Otherwise you should be able to get some lightening without any damage
Great video enjoyed watching it. How long do you expose your hair to sunlight for good results?
That could make some serious damage, and you may be better off to go to a stylist for a touch up
I have dirty blonde hair just like yours maybe a little darker will this make my hair red or orange
I don’t think it will. My hair is pretty dark, maybe light brown to dark blonde. Sun in made my hair kind of orange years ago - but this Sunbum, made it a nice golden blonde. It’s wasn’t brassy at all.
Thank you so much this helped a lot!
You’re welcome!
Did it damage your hair after some uses? btw i love your hair❤️
Brianna Blithe thank you so much🥰
Girl it contains hydrogen peroxide which is the strongest version of peroxide you can get… it hits your hair heavier than a normal bleaching. It looks good tho
You’re right! I made this video ages ago and eventually realized it has peroxide in it and I was kind of surprised because it’s so gentle.
I don’t know if it’s watered down, or if it’s other lighteners make it work faster but it’s so effective and gentle!
For comparison I used the other brand Sun-in years ago and it was awful 😞
This is definitely more gentle and more gradual 🥰
Have you noticed any damage on your hair?
Not at all, it’s very gentle
Good question!
does it have bleach in it?
Hey, it has peroxide in it.
How many tries does it take for it to work?
It works the first time but its very gradual. The first time was subtle. The second time I noticed a real difference but I wasn’t sure anyone else could. By the third time my hair was clearly brighter.
Thanks so much! I bought Sun Bum after watching your video and have used it twice so far! I feel like my hair is a bit lighter but I am definitely planning on using it a few more times. Thanks for your advice :) How many uses do you normally get out of each bottle?
I still have the first bottle and it’s maybe 3/4 full
in the web it's 6$ but they don't ship to Spain, and on Amazon it's 40$! I'm sad :(
Oh my gosh that’s ridiculous. Maybe you could try to see if Ulta can ship it to you?

NO..please don't suggest that product I literally lost 80% of my hair 8 yrs ago be she's of that spray..it's ridiculously strong chemical
Very natural looking
Thank you Bridget :)
How long did the sun bum take to work on you? When did you notice a difference ?
I think it's hydrogen peroxide
How I do this?
Hey Nicole. All you really need to do is apply the spray where you’d like to see the results. Wait in the sun for about 15-20 minutes after applying for faster results. Good luck!
Can you use it on bleached hair?
I think you can without much issue. Bleached hair my be more susceptible to damage but this product is super gentle. I doubt it would be too damaging as long as it isn’t immediately after you bleached it
I thought the ingredients were the same as sun in. Maybe the amounts are different. Probably.
I should get them both and compare them to know for sure about the ingredients. I feel like sun in always damaged my hair and left a really rough texture and not the most exciting color. Sunbum is just so much more gentle. It smells better. It lightens more gradually. It does not create any damage. Different amounts of the same ingredients makes sense!
can u take a shower after u use it with purple shampoo or not
Yes, as long as you wait about an hour or two you can shower and it should still have time to work
Is it permanent? Like forever? 😂
YES - any lightening will stay permanently
Brianna Blithe haha thank you so much! You are very helpful! Thank you and stay safe 🤍
how often do you use it
I used it like 3-4 times and then again a few times after a couple of months. It’s still a mostly full bottle

Can you use this on dyed hair? 😂xx
Was your hair lightened when you dyed it? If you lifted your color first this could cause some pretty extensive damage if your not careful
I have a balayage and used it twice on my hair to lighten it up a bit. But I have really healthy hair. I wouldn’t if you’re like bleach blonde.
Yes I agree with Yendis Anon. You can always test it on a small section to check for any color change that you don’t like or damage
