This happens almost any time people with dark hair bleach their hair and even when you go to professionals this can happen when your hair grows out and it's not toned. Also as this is heat activated and your scalp has heat radiating from it your scalp will always bleach faster and more drastically than the rest of your head. If the sun is beating down on one part of your head and getting hot this will happen. This is just the science of bleaching your hair. I agree they shouldn't have blocked you, but they should have explained why this happened and the product worked exactly as it should. If you want a more balayge and highlighted look you would have to section your hair and only put it on certain parts. The people whose hair lightened this way probably had natural highlights that were enhanced by the product. The company handled this poorly but if applied correctly it works well. They should also include a packet with more detailed instructions for various looks with tips for different types of hair instead of the super short description.

I've been looking through their Instagram and it's full of supposed before and after pictures of people with super dark brown and then a perfect blonde. So not only are they not explaining what would happen in dark hair they are explicitly claiming you can get those results, which I am extremely skeptical of

It’s also just basically diluted peroxide and lemon juice, which is an old school method of lightening virgin hair in the sun. If anyone wants to do this, just make your own, but know it’s still damaging and it’ll definitely not give even results on non-virgin hair. Thank you for this review!

Girl!! Thank you so much for your honest review. I’ve been having similar issues and just never been able to find any relatable reviews to what my hair has been going through. And about the splotchy hand thing - I definitely noticed some splotchy ness discoloring around my shoulders from where I sprayed my hair. I had not been to a tanning spa or anything but it literally stayed there for almost all of summer until it was eventually evenly browned out by the sun. If you use this product please wear a towel around your shoulders while spraying and wear gloves. My experience is about 5/10. I haven’t noticed any hair damage but it does lighten up a bit on the ends however it takes about 4 treatments to show lightness and over a week’s worth of time.

    • @KindlyChristina

I’m sad to hear that you had the same experience as me but glad to know that we both aren’t alone! It’s so odd how long you had the splotchiness on your shoulders! maybe it’s because the skin is more sensitive there? Really good to know to wear a towel for anyone who does use it! I really appreciate your comment!

Ok I read through multiple comments and honestly people are way too nice to the company. I’ve been getting constant ads for sunbabe the past week or so and was ready to try it BECAUSE the ingredients list on the website did not include hydrogen peroxide, which is listed in every other lightening spray that I’ve come across, and that made me skeptical. I have very thin, weak hair and do not want to use bleach on it. It’s false advertising for them to put a different ingredients list to the actual product and they should get sued for it. Also companies that delete actual review comments and all you see are these fake positive reviews are dodgy. People should never buy from companies that use misleading and deceptive advertising tactics. Thank you so much for your video. You saved my hair. You are very pretty and I hope your hair has recovered x

Aww, I love your review and for being honest and sharing your raw experiences, but honestly, I feel like they are not at fault in this case (except for your hair being a bit dry). Your hair actually was 3 colors cause you made it that way by 1) Having it colored. 2) Your roots were already out so of course, that will show as a different color. 3) You used a box dye to color your roots/hair again, so once again that's a different color, and 4) you used the product again on your new roots. Of course, it's going to have different colors! I was trying to decide whether I should buy it or not and my roots are out as well, and I know for a fact I will have 2 different colors there.

what I think might have given you bright glittery sparkly yellow blonde roots is
    - applied heavily on the roots for a long period of time and spending the day in direct sun so the rays directly hitting on the top part of your hair,
glad that you didn't get much damage tho, and very unethical and poor of them to block your honest review!

Natural hair pigment at your roots will lighten more than the ARTIFICIAL hair pigment that was in your hair.
I’m not sure why this company doesn’t say that it should only be used on natural hair pigment and even then the results will depend on your application and the color you are starting with and more often than not it still won’t turn out.

$32 is alot of money for a glorified sun in. And if they are deleting and blocking people who leave negative comments, that seems like deceptive advertising. And then to try to guilt you into not making a video of your honest experience with their product... hmmm, maybe if they didn't delete and block people who had bad experiences, and offered them a refund instead, they would be much more forgiving of the brand, and most would include that they offered a refund after they found out that they were unhappy in that comment.

Thank you for this honest review, I figured there must be a catch because they make it look too perfect and easy. They also claim it does not damage hair, and yet it has BLEACH in it, which they now are trying to disguise by calling it "H2O2" (the chemical formula for hydrogen peroxide) in the ingredient list. Bleach ALWAYS damages hair, the question is just by how much, and getting even results, especially with a spray and no instructions, is a crapshoot. Blows my mind that companies can be so shady and not give a crap what happens to their customers who are giving them their hard-earned money and trusting them with their HAIR! It even says "permanent results"!!! Ugh it makes me mad that they can get away with this. I will definitely NOT be purchasing!

I’m so glad you found this helpful! I would say, if your hair already has different shades, it will not even out your hair. It will just lighten it from the colors it already is. If you’re looking to have your hair evened out and ensure it looks good and doesn’t damage your hair as much, I would stick to investing in a professional. If you do decide to give it a try, let me know how it goes! Thanks for your comment!

Girl... i don’t know if this is the same thing but when I bleach stuff like my shoes or stained white clothes I use hydrogen peroxide and baking soda paste. I get the same white blotchy stuff on my hands except it's probably way itchier. That's damaging

oh wow! I’m sure there’s gotta be someone out there who can give you bright roots. But if not done professionally, this product can do that too! Thanks for your comment

This looks completely normal to me. You admitted that you had colour on your hair, which means you’re going to end up with those bands. You’d end up with those bands even if you were to just let your hair fade naturally.

Thank you for bringing awareness on the limitation on the product. I’m gonna stop for now (its been 2-3 weeks now using it). My hair stylist was right and I tried it anyway out of curiosity. So far I dont have too much going on in my roots but it hasn’t grown out yet. If I do use it I’ll blend it away from the top of my scalp and I was concerned about the drying so Ive been using leave in keratin spray and argan oil

keratin and argan oil are great for dryness! I also really love jojoba oil or if you can splurge, the olaplex no 7 oil is incredible. I’m glad to hear you haven’t had many issues with it yet! Trust your gut! Thanks for your comment!!

Girls, does the product come out when washing your hair? Does it make your hair greasy?

    • @KindlyChristina

it doesn’t, it’s an actual lightening product so it physically strips your hair. It doesn’t make it greasy but does make it somewhat dry at least for me!
