My Dad was killed in a plane crash (military) when I was 6 years old (I'm 65 now) and my mother never remarried. She had a picture of my Dad on her nightstand all my life. She passed away recently as I whispered to her that she would soon be reunited with her precious husband, the love of her life. She never stopped loving him and this song gave me the sense of what life would have been like had they had their whole life together! This song got me. I told both of my daughters to always find a man who treats them better than I treated their mom. I have been with my wife for 33 years and she has always been my queen! I have never told her no! Gave her everything I could possibly give her.
My oldest daughter got married to a fine young man in 2021 and he learned that lesson very quickly. One night my daughter jokingly called me (she was pregnant) and told me he would not go get her a pizza from her favorite place because it was snowing. When I showed up at their door, 45 miles from my house 1 hour later with that pizza he knew he messed up and has never made that mistake again. Now that my wife is sick, my son in law is the first person to check on me every day and treats my daughter better than I could have dreamed! God bless you for creating such a treasure of a song!

My parents got divorced when I was 23 years old. Growing up, I was generally the only kid amongst my friends who had parents that were still together and I felt so incredibly lucky for it. Still, realizing the pain that came out of their extremely toxic and nasty divorce I have no idea how the kids I grew up with held on. I'm 30 years old now and the pain is still fresh and the hurt has been the same, so I have no idea how the kids I grew up with that had split parents got through their childhoods. My dad stopped loving my mother and treating her like the queen she truly is when I started high school, but I had no idea. They hid it well.

They're both madly and deeply inlove with each other that lifetime isnt enough. My dad still cries everytime we talked about her and those memories. i do, my parents are busy, and often stressed which sometimes worries me because they are so old, i sometimes wonder if my father will live to meet the man i marry, i cherish them truly. I’m so sorry if you have had a more unfortunate experience.
Growing up, I had a broken family. My family didn’t feel whole until my mother remarried and Gave us step father. She gave us a baby brother whom we all cherish. We were a family. Watching my step dad and my mother grew and blossom their relationship and he loved us children as his own without any question, I decided he is my father at the age 17 before I graduated high school.
I could never asked a better man to be my father And the grandfather of my daughter.
Thank you, Pa for loving me and treating me like a princess at the age 13 when I was so broken. Thank you for filling in the broken pieces, thank you for then unconditional love, and thank you for showing what a real father is like.

This song is so beautiful, my father passed on in 2012. I started to cry listening to it.
I grew up in a divorced family, never had a loving father and the memory of him beating my mom is still fresh in my mind ( im 20 years old now ). Later on after the divorced my mom remarried to my now stepfather. I swear growing up without a father figure is a tough life, but when my stepfather married my mom, that's the first time ever I felt the true meaning of a father's love. Thank you, Jax for this song. My father has many bad habits that make my mother and other family members very uncomfortable and angry. And my mother said that if it weren't for fate, she wouldn't have married him. So maybe when they got married, they weren't rich, and when I was born, things weren't any better, so they were always busy with work and forgot how to love and treat each other more gently. . . My father wasn't around when I was younger and I grew up saying I would be the exact opposite; loving, engaging, there at every step. And I've tried my best to be and hopeful my daughters (age 31 and 22) feel constant love and encouragement in their lives/hearts.
But - to the rest of you who didn't have that - I want you to know our father upstairs is the one who counts, who loves you, who put you together in the womb and cherishes every breathe you take. He showed me love when no one else did, and hopeful he does the same to you. Sit down, pray to him, and I know he will be with you, close up that lonely feeling, that fatherless feeling, and fulfill a great life for you. They started having lunches together and became best friends that way then started dating. I met my husband when I was 14 and he was 15 and we've been best friends since. Me too man, my dad is so toxic, I always pray for him to die but then I just realized of recent that his toxicity is just getting to me and I have redirected my prayers to finding a good man who will be a good dad to my kids, I want them to have what I never had.
My mom died just shy of their 35th anniversary, 20 years ago. My dad has remarried, but my mom was clearly the love of his life...this song reminds me of them. It is the example I had, growing up. I'm so, so thankful for that...and I cry everything I hear this song, because I know she would've loved it and cried too...❤

Same. I try to be happy for them rather than ask why I never got to see my parents like this. I believe in God. I believe he puts situations in place that can make or break you, and with a little faith, he knows you'll grow stronger from it. It still sucks seeing I missed out. But maybe I haven't, cause at least this proves that there are happy, healthy couples and families out there, and maybe one day, I'll have one.

My girlfriend showed me this song as it randomly came on from her playlist during a car ride. She mentioned liking it alot and I confess that I really do too. Having known her since I was 7, and though we are only 23 now, I know I will incorporate this in our wedding someday.
