Well you need to do your math, as you say 2021 so 2 and 2 cancel each other and you are left with a 0 and 1 which is always 1 so therefore you get only 1 portafilter. It’s all in the numbers!
@@DylansHomeEspressoBar i have to use long black to get tasting notes. About 236 grams to 36-45 gram espresso. I can't get tasting notes from straight espresso.
did you adjust the grind setting for the VST basket or use the same grind setting? it's my understanding that when you use an IMS or VST basket you can grind much finer as well as dose to the recommended amount...
I kept mine the same however with the VST baskets, they allow you to get a more even flow with will help with the more even extraction as to grind setting I would always keep the same no matter the basket
Dylan, I purchased my La Marzocco bottomless portafilter from Amazon for $105 . However, I noticed it’s now being sold for $129 without the baskets. I purchased mine without the basket but they sent me one with a basket included for $105. That one is on Amazon for $139. I noticed that Amazon is selling bottomless portafilter with wooden handle very inexpensively ( not genuine). You have the basket so if you want a bottomless portafilter it’s not much of an investment.
This video would u better if this was done with a bottomless PF. Anyway my take here, i have a VST basket & i am having difficulty pulling non-channeling shot, whereas stock basket i get smooth like butter espresso... So im seriously not sure how this is an upgrade for me...prob anyone with similar issue or any advise on pulling better shots with VST
Hey Dylan. Have you tried ims nanotechnology baskets? I’ve found that ims nanotech baskets work much better in getting even and more consistent shots and because of the nanotech you get a non stick coating. Ims also makes a curved bottomless basket non nanotech but it helps create that solid single stream for bottomless extractions
@@DylansHomeEspressoBar even if you don’t try the regular basket the bottomless basket is worth a look to see if at the same grind size does it change your extraction at all🤷🏼♂️
Nice vid but bro the shots are terrible, after 10sec it gushes out,pls use a naked and see how much channeling u have, keep up with the vids quite enjoyable.

Agreed. There will always be a market for anything that is popular to be exploited. In some cases paying extra for better quality or precision is worth it, in this case however, I believe not. I just got my first espresso machine (Diletta Mio) and the stock basket works totally fine. Why would I waste money on a $200 basket when the one it came with works perfectly fine. A fool and their money will always be parted. Being a savvy shopper and researching things first will save one a ton of money over their life time.
Stock basket looks tapered which I assume is why it holds 17 vs 18 grams. Also, IMS holes are more precision round and IMS is coated.
Great video Dylan. Are the stock baskets IMS?
I just bought a giotto can you help me choose for an basket i was looking for a 18 gram ims
So I noticed you test a 17g shot versus an 18g shot. Why didn’t you pull a 17g shot in both?
It’s important to use the correct dose in a precision basket.
Hi Dylan! I recently got my LMLM, but I only got one portafilter. Does the 2021 version take away the single spout portafilter? Best regards.
Yes!

Do you have objective way of testing shot quality pulled with each basket without using NPF (naked portafilter)?
I would say the best way to test the quality of the shot is by taste

@@ggivensjr I tried that this morning and it was so good!!
How many grams can you push on vst basket? Can you put 23grams on 18gr vst?
Hi im From Thailand can tell me ? You like Basket ims or vst ? Thank you

I was surfing around on Amazon last week and saw the wooden upgrades to the Linea Mini! It's gonna be gorgeous. Can't wait to see it.
I can’t wait! I am loving it stock at the moment but I am excited for that install!

Hey man, looked like your portafilter handle was touching the counter when you weighed it.
I can’t wait for the acaia plate to come in haha for that reason!

Can you recommend to me an HX PID machine in less than $2,000.00?
I can only speak from experience of what I have and I absolutely love my breville DualBoiler! And would recommend this machine to anyone

If you want to get drunk, just drink a shot every time he says "you guys".
Or when he says ‘coming up I. A future video’. I noticed everything in this channel is coming up in a future video

Why can't you pronounce La Marzocco right?
Both shots doesn’t look good 😬
You work overnight, are you a security guard?
Too much talk for too little information ~ life shouldn't be wasted on these excessive videos.
Why are you acting so screamy over enthousiastic
