Great videos, but I have to pull you up on your explanation of "Open Source" software. Open Source means that the source code is available for inspection. Open Source software is made available under a number of license models. Many licenses permit use of the software for educational, private or charitable use without payment. Some licenses also permit use of the software for commercial use without payment. Most open source licences prohibit making changes to the source code and then releasing a new version without making the source code (and original licensing text) available too.
6:30 is an accurate representation of the frustration i'm experiencing right now. that's why i'm here trying to take it step by step even if my boss is hovering over me
I think its old and doesn't serve the modern web. css moves on to 3 html 5 and browsers update so they don't want js on websites as the browser engines handle it better. The only way is native code if you want my opinion...html5 css3, react.
Update Logo, thousand pages? Are you kidding me. You just replace logo.jpq with the new logo and keep the same name. Are you kidding you me. I never had to change my hundreds of pages.
I enjoy your smooth articulate voice and way of explaining your methodology. Thank you kindly for this video. I'm new to Drupal 8, I'm only a graphical user thus far. My (glitchy) host is InterServer and at the moment they are one of three hosts which Acquia Drupal lists as having an instant Demo. So I thought this would be awesome, but they have a major bug in their servers. You might have some idea about what's going on. Before I ask Acquia Forum22 for support, I'll just ask you. My InterServer latest stable version of Drupal8 is fine except there's no Main Navigation menu. When I make a new drupal8 site with them, the menu is there. But the very second I try to arrange the menu or change the item weight, all menu items are permanently set to Disabled. Enabling them does nothing, they go back to Disabled. InterServer doesn't support individual websites, and they don't have experience with Drupal8, not even their Tier2 support. Which is the same as BlueHost actually lol...they don't even have the right PHP to run Drupal8 at all even though they advertise 1-click install of Drupal8. The "joy" of Drupal8 hosting this early on. Anywho, might you have any idea why InterServer's Drupal8 servers do a bad install of Drupal8? Acquia says my bug is not known and has not been submitted. InterServer found out that every install of their Drupal8 has this Main Navigation bug. I'm happy to learn more about Drupal8 and so your videos are wonderful!
+OSTraining Hello my brother. Happy green Saint Patricks day! Saint Patrick was a wonderful man. Okay so, InterServer support says they have recreated the bug on multiple Demo accounts. They assure me their servers and install method is "exactly" the same as other Drupal8 hosts. Their community chat has also confirmed Demo accounts have a bugged up Main Navigation Menu. My website Ontu.org shows the lack of a menu. I set the theme to default, that others can see the missing menu and a little text blurb about how to recreate the bug. So... InterServer finally connected me to a manager, who says they will put a temporary paid status onto my account. So that I can reproduce the bug on a paid website, and then they can ship off that install to their developers. I'd think a developer could simply do this all themselves, but I think they have some fear of disturbing their developers...which is a little awkward for a Drupal8 host. So, I await my account to be set to Paid mode. InterServer is showing hope, IF you don't ever use their chat. The chat is overseas and barely speaks English or knows how to type. My older host BlueHost has still tried to give me the runaround about how they don't know why they don't have the right PHP version to install Drupal8, even though they claim to be a Drupal8 host. Fun fun. :P It had been tech support hell, but after awhile you figure out how to skip the chat and call a manager directly. :P
+OSTraining Great news!!! I got 8 years GoDaddy hosting of Drupal8 and it's beautiful. The chat is actually useful. GoDaddy may be a quasi-trustable corporate giant, but they are so much better than the cheaper hosts thus far. Their hosting is 50% off right now, but read the fine print. Doing your own server is still way better because you get infinite resources. Ya just gotta have business speed internet, which you likely already have. So I'm all set. Most hosts don't yet have the latest PHP for Drupal8. BlueHost should hopefully within months. I thought I owed you a happy ending to my dramatic story lol. So my website ontu.org looks great! Your videos are helping.
Why do you make such a weird comparison. The problems you'v named were solved way long before CMS was a thing, when first scripting languages were used and simply blocks included so that you did not have to edit the block 1000 times. This is not the problem a CMS solves, it was solved simple way before. The comparison to show the benefits of CMS do not make sense the way you did it.

hi, before learning drupal what are the basic knowledge we should have?
You don't need to have anything. But the more web experience you have, the quicker you'll understand Drupal's fundamentals
PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Best tutorial! Thx!
You're welcome, vlada85
Well, I got through Eve Online (And still learning) I think I should be able to do this!

+Royce Barber Sorry, I'm afraid we can't provide much help with InterServer. What did their tech support say?
