  • Salvias (also called sages) are a diverse group of plants that offer colorful flowers, scents, and even flavors. Most salvia plants are easy to grow, drought-tolerant, bloom abundantly, and look gorgeous in the landscape. There are more than 900 different types of salvia plants.

Your salvias look so nice!! I started growing some in pots this year and they are growing fast. I found that growing natives has attracted all sorts of insects and birds which has been a real treat. We recently had batches of mantids and lacewings hatch naturally which will help with aphids. Thank you for the video!

Hi Pablo! It’s been a while I haven’t visited your channel. Salvias are native to Brazil (the highlands). I believe in the southern uplands near São Paulo where it is mild. Many popular annuals such as begonias come from there and other places in South America. Salvias also grow here at my location in winter and spring, although there are newer heat tolerant varieties which I might try in the summer. Summer here is hot but not as hot as in Kolkata for what I have researched. The winters are much cooler in your location than here. Your videos are very interesting and simple to follow. Thank you for your time and interest in sharing your beautiful garden and your experiences. I have never been in Asia, seeing your channel and videos is like there, a truly local experience. Greetings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷, a tropical island thousands of miles from India 🌏, in the other side of this beautiful planet. 🌎Have a wonderful day!

    Good evening Pablo,
Hope you are doing well. I would like to place a suggestion /request to you.. I was wondering if you could make a community post or shorts when you sow zinnia or any other summer (as it is approaching) plant so we can approximate the time and sow our seeds alongside as well, then you may (if you will) post progress vids/updates and we could compare that with ours, so that we can use a little of your expertise to steer our plants towards optimal yields.
But again, it is purely a humble request/content suggestion by my side and I understand that this could either be very hectic and you may not be very comfortable to do so(which is absolutely fine and just, it is your channel and we love whatever you put out here out of your free will) OR it is not much RUclips friendly and engagement could be low (which is something no RUclips professional would put their time into).
As the case may be, would definitely love a zinnia video (traditional one, like you do now) if you could.
Thanks for all the great gardening tips though, Always liked the aura of this channel.
    Regards

I put my first Salvia sage in a big pot and it grew so big. I watch the hummingbirds come every morning. But now the leaves are yellowing and it looks rough. Maybe too much sunlight

Hello Mr. Pablo, Thank you for sharing this wonderful video.
I am from east of India, I have a salvia scarlet variety in a earthen pot. I water my plant regularly 2 times a day and keep it under the sun till afternoon. In the afternoon as the heat of the sun increases I keep it under the shed. But recently I noticed the leaves are getting wilting under the shed and the leaves have dark spots and margins. Although news leaves are growing by all the leaves have same issues. The leaves are feeling floppy when touched. Am I watering more than its required? Plz do help me.
