For an old man like me this is one of the best from George: I can identify with the lyrics. Brings back memories of a red head woman I loved.

The guitar sond George Harrison is using is caused by a new 1965 thing called a volume pedal. The chords sound as if they are comging from a soft start to louder, in a slurred fashion like coming out of nowhere. George had a new toy and used in several recordings with the Beatles, at the time, especially in another song, Yes It Is, recorded around the same time. It is a cool sound. It really does make a rather ordinary but romantic, nice song better by filling in the silent spots between vocal lines with a musical hook. George sang this in the movie help on the Salisbury Plain segment with all the "military" protection from the bad guys in the story. You gotta watch the movie "Help," it's funny, a spoof on spy movies .

What's up, Cimdy? I hope all things are okay in your circle. You ought to keep better records to your reactions--you reacted to this song only six weeks ago. There are still so many Beatles songs left for you explore that we are anxiously waiting for. I suggest more Lennon songs from the White Album: Sexy Sadie, Happiness Is A Warm Gun, Dear Prudence, Glass Onion, Revolution #1, to name a few. These were some of John's best work, IMHO. Love to all!

"I Need You" was the first of many songs inspired by Pattie Boyd. "If I Needed Someone", "Something", "For You Blue", "Layla", "Bell Bottom Blues", and "Wonderful Tonight" followed in the years after. The volume pedal friskiness stands out in the song for better or worse.

Yeah this is another song where they filmed it at Stonehenge for the movie what's so unique my dear girl is the fact that they were using either volume pedals or just their volume knob on the guitar so they could strum the guitar and then they turn it up so you don't hear the strumming of the notes that was very unique for the time later on there were a lot of musicians who use this technique Steve Hackett from Genesis like to use that type of technique a lot he did it very skillfully you know it's funny because they did this song and then they did that song I think you had already reacted to the night before and in the movie that's when they set off the big explosion but they put the bomb in the wrong place luckily and then the Beatles Escape I don't know I think they get in a tank or something it was pretty funny I shouldn't give away the plot to the movie he'll have to see it okay ganking girl
