When comedian Groucho Marx stayed at a restricted hotel back in the 1950s, he was told that his daughter couldn't go in the pool because she was Jewish. He replied, "She's only half-Jewish, can she go in up to her waist?". 😂. Perfect burn.
I love how they reference another one of the greatest sitcoms in history, Three's Company! That would be a perfect sitcom to watch next... ...just saying. 😅
One of the most widely hated characters in Golden Girls history. Barbara's pompousness is often spoofed by Golden Girls fans, and actress Bonnie Bartlett (Barbara) made a birthday tribute video to a GG fan where she talked like Barbara using words like "literary intelligentsia" -- her memory is great and she's a lot of fun even in her 90s!
I WAS JUST thinking about this episode yesterday! Season 3 is great. I still can’t wait for the game show one! My all time fav. It’s coming! 💛 -Tyler 😊
My grandmother wouldnt get into Mcgill because they told her "sorry we already filled our jewish quota"...my grandfather lived in a small town was not allowed to practice medicine or law so he had to open a business
Seeing that Alexxa has already watched the episode, is it Holly, Rose's sister? The one who steals Dorothy and Blanche from Rose and sleeps with Blanche's boyfriend.
Love your channel I'm a new subscriber from late last night actually early this morning☺️FYI I'm Jewish ✡️ and loved it when Dorothy told off Barbra💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
Bonnie Bartlett and William Daniels played husband and wife on the critically acclaimed series St. Elsewhere. The characters divorced during the run, and fans were concerned the real life couple may be having marriage problems as well. She was so popular, she went from periodic guest to series regular. Ellen Craig and Barbara Thorndyke were very different characters. If you watched both shows, you would have seen Ellen on Wednesday and Barbara on Saturday...both on NBC.
Absolutely on purpose ... she says Blanche's name when she and Dorothy are talking at the restaurant, but every time she sees Blanche, she calls her Madge.
Besides Blanche’s almost son in-law Jeremy Barbara is another one of the most despised characters on the show It was fun seeing ‘Mr Feeney’s” wife playing the part tho. I mostly knew her from Little House on the Prairie where she played a woman from the 1800s so it was always fun seeing her in anything set in present day (even tho all these shows are over 30 years old…..still modern compared to 1800s 😂
don't like this episode, so I'm gonna skip it. it's amazing the writers and the actress, created a female character, more annoying than Freida Claxton.
"How does it differ from the children's version?" "...Adults play it."
🤣😂

Strange that he would even want to stay there.
Sadly there were a lot of clubs like that back then (I'm sure there may even still be some today but they just hide their prejudice better)
That is so sad...

I'll add it to the list! 💛

Thanks for the comment Tyler! 💛
She also played with her real life husband on the show St. Elseware, as husband and wife.
That's awesome!

Same with African-Americans.
That just hurt my heart
Barbara...one of the best villains of the series. But wait, Alexxa, there's a worse one in a future episode!
😊
HOOOOW?!?!!?!? 😂 (Don't tell me! lol)

@@shanesunil I think it's Blanche's abusive boyfriend. He's makes Barbara look fun in comparison.

I know! I love them so much! They are so adorable together!
he also voiced the care in knight rider if you know what that is@@AlexxaReacts
I've never watched it - but I heard that on Pod Meets World - the reaction podcast with the cast of BMW!
Does Barbara get Blanche's name wrong on purpose to spite her
Absolutely on purpose ... she says Blanche's name when she and Dorothy are talking at the restaurant, but every time she sees Blanche, she calls her Madge.
Take a wild guess. 😂
Definitely on purpose! 😂
The waves in Barbara's book is like Moby Dick. Its so boring how for several chapters the writer describes the waves

I've never fully watched Little House on the Prairie. I might dig that one up! 💛
@@AlexxaReacts yes Bonnie Bartlett played Grace Snider Edwards on Little House on the Prairie.

Freida Claxton had less screentime - and her burns were far more entertaining. XD Plus, she died, which helps, lol.
This episode and its topic was borrowed from the beloved Mary Tyler Moore show.
