Not at all! As long as you push back the Cuticle and make sure the nail is free from any cuticle, you’re all good. Plus, I’m some states it illegal to cut into skin anyway!
before you put the extensions on, you put a thin coat of gel on the nail. did you cure that thin coat or did you apply it and then go straight into applying the extension? and if you did cure it, how long did you cure it for? sorry i'm a beginner and i want to learn as much as possible lol
It’s ok! I’m here to help. So with my new/current method, I don’t apply any gel to the natural nail. I just apply it to the full cover tip and apply directly to a primed nail.
Im new to doing nails and i bought apres ive done some fun designs like rainbows and rhinestones but they only last me a couple days always lifting and falling off even made sure theres no bubbles this time and same thing, im gonna follow what you did to a T. I am curious is putting some of the base gel on top where the edges are would help keep them on?
Try using the young nails bond. I found that the apres primer does not work. My nails would pop off all the time. Once I switched they never lift or pop off. They stay on for at least 4 weeks
My gel x nail losing their shape after couple days, ( from ballerina to round) because of work, maybe you have some tips what to do that they don’t lose shape? Or I’m jus using wrong tips?
👍It’s an issue getting my cuticle to look right after I put on my gel extensions...I’ve tried everything Ilike not putting my nail 2 close to the cuticle etc. I know it’s impossible for it to look perfect but I like to try..😕could you please give details on the cuticle bits that you use and any tips and tricks when I go to painting my nail afterwards it looks clumpy around my cuticle 😂 😝
First, this video was so helpful. Thank you so much for the thoughtful instruction. Second, I was wondering if you had a recommendation for how much extend gel to apply. I have been fluctuating between too much and too little and I was wondering if you knew and could describe what the perfect amount was?
i found that when applying the extend gel to apply a little less than the length of the nail you’re working on and not go fully side to side because of how much it can overflow when you apply it to the fake nail, hope that makes sense

hey there! loooove your videos on gel tips!! would b great if u could do a comparison video of enail vs apres tips! apres sounds so good but its sooo pricey 😭 how long do the enail tips last w the base gel?
Hello quick question. So I do my own n family n friends mine last for a month but I've done a couple people where the nails pop off less than a week. Any tips? I do exactly what u did on myself n on them n idk why some people they dnt last 🙁
@@lifetakesByC thank you for the response. What us the drying time for each because I do use dehydrater and primer but maybe I'm not letting it dry enough 🤔
@@theirmama7345 sorry so late again! Both should dry fairly fast. What primer are you using? I started using Mia Secrets dehydrator and primer. I find that Apres’ don’t work so well.
I start my sets at $40 and go from there depending on size and design :) I suggest you do some research around your area and see what other nail techs are charging and go from there as well
is it necessary to file/buff your natural nails before application? i recently bought everything to do gel x after watching several videos on how to apply since in the videos no one filed/buffed, i have pretty strong and healthy natural nails and the reason i got into gel x instead of acrylic was because i heard that gel x is less harmful to your natural nails. ive so far done 2 sets in myself, first set lasted about 2 1/2 weeks and this second set has lasted 4 weeks, but i have had problems with lifting. i know buffing with help but is it absolutely necessary to do for a set to last?
In my opinion, yessss! It’s essential to prevent nails from lifting. It’s important to rough up the nail so the gel has something rough to adhere to. It also helps remove any cuticle or dead skin on your nails. Left over cuticle is what causes lifting. Hope this helps!
Wow ! Great video 👌 thank you ,,I love love the final outcome with the nail art 👍 I purchased the Modelone set,,,,time to change from using acrylics ,,,,Corona virus is forcing me to 😁 after doing research i think Modelone is the best option for me,,can't wait to get it !!
When apply the nail you say to not out in close to the cuticle .. so when you place it down do I have to have some of the cuticle area exposed ? I have so much trouble keep the nails on , they always end up popping off and I prep them like I should
Hi! After you buff the tips (at the end of the video) do you apply base coat before color or do you go straight on to color and then top coat? -Thank you!
Are you using gel x or another brand? Gel x is pretty sturdy! I would recommend applying the extend gel under the tips after you’ve applied them. Finish with a top coat also
Wow I wanted to watch this to see how you prepped the tips but no footage 😂 other than that this is very informative, I see you didn’t use the whole Apres system, why is that?
I have my first gel x client and I am feeling confident because of you
I really love how this looks I’m a beginner and you taught me really well but did you use base coat to adhere the nails together
base gel, not base coat!
Idk what base gel is but I use builder gel
i want to start taking gel x clients soon but I'm not comfortable using a cuticle nipper , will that affect the nail prep/ nails popping off?
Not at all! As long as you push back the Cuticle and make sure the nail is free from any cuticle, you’re all good. Plus, I’m some states it illegal to cut into skin anyway!
girl you deserve so many more subs !! you explain things so well !! thank you for this vid 🤎quick question how long do you have to flash cure for ?
30 sec for flash cure
flash cure I do 10 seconds just to keep it in place. 60 seconds after all fingers are complete
Love the video!! And love that you are left handed!!! 🤚
before you put the extensions on, you put a thin coat of gel on the nail. did you cure that thin coat or did you apply it and then go straight into applying the extension? and if you did cure it, how long did you cure it for? sorry i'm a beginner and i want to learn as much as possible lol

Love the video!! but what color are your nails?? Its gorgeous!!
What are you applying to the extension on 5:53? Is it the same gel base that you had put on your nails?
Yes! Extend gel 😃

Yes. Young Nail Bond or Modelones primer is really good. That’s what I used and no issues.
What bit do you use to clean up the cuticle area?
I always tend to glue on a nail crooked. How do I prevent that?
My gel x nail losing their shape after couple days, ( from ballerina to round) because of work, maybe you have some tips what to do that they don’t lose shape? Or I’m jus using wrong tips?
Hi which tips do you use? I only use Apres tips because they’re thick. They hold their shape pretty well
Or try almond or round shape. That shape never dulls out 🥰
Newbie here. I've experienced slipping when putting the nail on. How do i prevent that?
You might be using too much product!
love this video. so easy to understand.
are you using the Modelones No Wipe Topcoat + base on the nail form at 6:10? if not what do you use to adhere the nail form to the nail? Thanks!
Enail couture base gel
Hi, what nails do you yourself have on? I love the shape of them ❤️
I’m going to start doing my own nails - can’t wait x
I believe they are short stiletto by apres
Hey love did you use the enailcouture base gel to apply the nails on 😊just asking

I found out that luminary system and magic gel don’t need etching inside the nail tip .. the gel will stay bond .... saves time
Wait?! Are you using the base gel from luminary ? Do you need a rubber base too or just the clear
Thank you for making this video, it’s very informative ☺️
So you’re using gelx tips and enail couture base????
Yeah I switch it up sometimes. I prefer Enail base gel because it soaks off easier.

What is the name of the hand held led light. Where did you get it?
It’s just an led flashlight that can be found on Amazon. Sorry for the late reply
Hello, are the tips you are using gel tips or regular tips and adding the gel?
What are u putting on the nail to stick is it top coat ?
What kind of polish did you use to adhere the fake nail to the real nails?

10 seconds with the small light. Then a final 60 second cure on all nails

how can i find the bit
