- I have always really dug this track and I have a memory as a kid thinking Phil was singing 'Susie, don't you lose my number'. Not sure why. Anyway, great guitar work from Daryl once again and a real intricate solo that seems to be more so improve from him. Certainly live he seems to vary it up quite a lot which made it a challenge to research hand positions. I tried to mimic some of the live stuff he would do but I had to take a couple of liberties on that end run though. Really fun to figure out and play so I hope you enjoy! :)

Hysteria is definitely my favorite album of the 80s. No Jacket Required may well be my #2!!!
Nice job Ben. Daryl Stuermer is a phenomenal guitarist, criminally underrated. Phil's band was mind boggling, especially live.
Thanks! He certainly is!
I've always loved this Phil song. Great chorus. You really bring out the solo on this one! Would love to hear you Leppardize anything from the INVISIBLE TOUCH album. SUSSUDIO would also be a great choice.
Would certainly love to do more Genesis and Phil, thanks!
Man. You once again make one of my favorite songs impossible to listen to the original version. I can listen to you play all day, every day.. Actually, i pretty much do. Awesome!
Wow! This was one of my favourites from this album 🥰
Mind-blowing big ups frm INDIA
Love your work on the low end Ben. Starts at 3:27. Goosebump inducing!
Outstanding brother! That solo was😙🤌🤌
I’ve always appreciated Daryl. Easy Lover is my go to. Ever see his work with Martin Levac? I’d really like to see a Genesis tour with Martin. Just one more really good go. It’s obvious that our beloved Phil just isn’t capable anymore. That’s got to be a nightmare for him right?. Every time I see Phil on stage in a chair on stage I cringe. Forget about a whole step down thing. Maybe more. Martin Levac check him out. Hope your well in Ireland? Scotland? One of those. Cheers mate! G’day!
Thanks! Yeah, Easy Lover is my favourite of his and I remember being fun to figure out and learn. I’ll check out Levac. Cheers from a Scotsman in Ireland.
Yes yes yeah
LOVED LOVED IT !!! The solo was just so great and your guitar tone is perfect.
EXCELLENT...Thanks!
No Jacket Required is a stellar album, with great tracks top to bottom. Some of my personal favs off the juggernaut album, "Long Long Way To Go" which Sting did background vocals on, "Inside Out", "One More Night:, and "Doesn't Anybody Stay Together Anymore".
Great rendition to "Don't Lose My Number". No Jacket Required sold over 25 million copies, making it Phil's most commercially successful effort. In 2001, the album was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Awesome cover of this amazing Phil Collins track.
I had never heard the guitar part of this song before. So cool! I love Phil Collins ❤ I want to watch his videos again. There were some Japanese dancers there.Thank you for always entertaining us 😊
Mr Stuermer would approve! Daryl Stuermer's lead playing reminds me of Neal Schon's somewhat
Always delivering the goods. Keep up the good work.
Fantastic as always. Love the channel
I love this song!
I forgot that the solo shredded like that in this song. Another great cover, dude!!
Excellent cover dude keep it up🔥🔥🔥 Phil Collins is indeed one of the best artist this planet has ever had.
Yay! One of my favorite's by Mr. Collins! Excellent job! ❤
ESPECTACULAR
Man that was tight dude. Nice job!
Love it excellent Ben ❤❤❤
Daryl creates such tasteful and complementary solos for songs incorporating interesting melody and fast runs. Reminds me of Elliot Eastman and the stellar way he could come up with a solo to fit any song with The Cars.
There was a period of time in the 80s where you would hear at least a couple of his songs on the radio or see a couple videos on MTV every hour...this solo is 🔥🔥🔥🍻
Man I love watching your videos bro! You make it look so easy! And GREAT SOUND!!
Spot on as usual. Great job!
Awesome video great job on this I’m a big Phil Collin’s fan many great hits of the 80’s and when he was with Genesis you never disappoint buddy 👍
Always been my most favorite of Daryl’s solos. ❤
Played with great feel😊
Love your tone!!
🔥
Great job
Até que enfim 🎉
Have you heard the story of how they got this iconic drum sound in the studio?
I certainly have.
I love gated reverb.
F'ing amazing bro
Thanks
Kyoto Rose by Stuermer next? 😛
👀😁
Solo is cool!
Thanks for covering some of Daryl's 🎸 playing. the rhythm parts are cool and interesting and always loved the vibe and personality in his solos. Have you heated his guitar instrumental albums as a solo artist?
Thanks! Yes, he’s got some great instrumental work so maybe I can cover that someday too.
@@bwm5150 That would be awesome mate:) he does genesis and Phil Collins instrumental guitar versions too if you didn't already know that 🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶
wonderful video sir ❤
😁😁😁😁😁
Billy lost his number?
Super cool as always, what your preferred guitar jackson or charvel, just curious.
Thanks! The Jackson always feels comfortable because I have used it most but the Charvel is great too. In a fire, I would be taking the Jackson.
@@bwm5150 thank you for taking time to answer Ben, I also like Jackson guitar more.
Very good as always
Is this song in 440?
Thanks, yes I’m in standard and it seemed to fit with the song and not clash.
You’re so talented. How many years have you been playing guitar? I’m just starting and i wanna get good like you. You have good taste in music, like mine lmao
Very kind thanks! Well, it’s 20 years this year but we all work at our own pace so try and enjoy it as much as possible and it’ll come to you.
Billy!
i like version live studio album greatest hits sirius...90'
Speaking of figuring out Phil Collins as a kid: I just recall, "Her name is 'Sudio'????"
Sussudio
@@EphemeralProductions Listening to the radio back in the 80's, you don't get a digital readout declaring the song title, and I wasn't that into Phil so as to buy his stuff. You listen to the song and he is mostly stuttering "Sussudio", while talking about a girl he's infatuated with. That, and given it's a made-up word, it's not necessarily easy to figure out: it kind of sounds like he's just going over her name over and over, and hung up on it. Also kind of like he's telling the girl to "say the word"... "and I'll be there". As in the expression "Give the word".
@@SpartacusColo yup
Hey Ben, what kind of strings are you using? They look light.
I’m currently using 8.5 Skinkys.
, You mean Slinkys🤔
Why do you move your fingers up the neck after the verse note picking in verse one?
It’s not a conscious thing but I think it just lets my arm rest in those breaks.
