- Samad Abdulai of C3 Laundry Services shows us how he cleans food, dirt, and debris out of this $1,000 Persian-style rug. It has been sitting in the client's dining area for two decades and has never been washed. He uses special carpet shampoo, cold water, a buffer, a squeegee, and a power washer to give the carpet its first clean. Part of the rug is handmade from silk, which added an extra challenge to the job.

Persian carpets are like persian cats so precious and as a persian person I appreciate the care being put in the carpet in this video while washing, I knew someone who washed theirs (their carpet not cat) incorrectly and it came out totally ruined. Decreased the value a lotttt too because of it. Also one fell on my nose once and left a mark (not a cat).

its not a real persian carpet though, 1,000 dollar for a carpet of this size = fake persian "Persian style" , likely made in Azerbaijan or India. real one would be more expensive

Pro tip: get it professionally cleaned by someone who’s familiar with antique rugs. Some of them can’t be cleaned the same as this rug.

Rugs are normally made from wool. Silk too costly.
And too fragile. Wool rugs are very durable.

Persian Rug get cleaned
Well he said it’s a Persian rug but not handmade and not silk or wool. This is not a “true” Persian rug because all “true/real Persian rugs are handmade and made either by wool or silk. Therefore cleaning a true/real Persian rug may be a different process. Anyway my point is that this rug as he said it’s machine made and not a “Persian rug”, it could be a Persian rug design made w machine.

If they are like the one in this video, they are not real Persians. They may be nice, and you may like them just fine, but there are many, many imitations out there. Get the opinion of someone who knows, or get a good book on Persian rugs.

This is a Persian design but it is a machine made rug. No issues about stabilizing dyes. Nice before/after. Super filthy, looks like years of soil build up.
Some are made of silk but most original persian rugs are made of wool.
Did you ever tell anyone what type of cleaner you used or where you can get one of the machines that you use the hard brush on?
