So great to be flexible with plans. Throw in some wonderful beer, excellent food, fun friends, and free replacement socks and I'd call that a perfect town stop. :-)
I am sure Hurlgoathiker fits you well as a trail name. But, my wife and I like to call you "Happy Hiker" because you are always smiling and laughing on the trail.
Eric Thompson ...seriously! Have you ever seen anyone so positive on the trail? Even if things are going perfect, you'd be pressed to find a more positive outlook. Maybe I better take note.
Hey hurlgoat! So ur Oregon resupply stops were, correct me if I'm wrong, Cascade locks, timberline lodge, shelter cove, mazama village, and Ashland? Did the fire closures affect anything? Thanks! The planning has begun!
Hey man, Yea that sounds about right, and ya the fires did effect me, I picked up a package at Mazama Village and then skipped forward to Ashland. Planning is one of my favorite things to do besides actually being on a hike. Any questions let me know, I'd be glad to help. Happy Trails.
Hi HGH. I enjoy your being able to pinpoint your location and share the information with us. Are you using a traIl guide app on your phone or GPS, or a good ol paper map? Thanks
For the next couple weeks the videos will be coming out every other day, I am going on a 2 week hiking trip, Lowest to Highest in California, I just don't have the time to edit so many days ahead of time. Thanks for following.
Good to know. Thanks! Even as a Californian, I don't know what the lowest to highest means, but I'll look forward to videos of that trip as well. Have a great time!
Unless I missed it, how did you store your food overnight after you got rid of your canister back in Washington State? Did you usually hang it over a tree branch?
Really found this video interesting. Liked the 1000 foot climb up. Your a happy guy on the trail!!! Thanks!

Bummer you had to miss the state line. I know that's a big milestone on the trail. You make this look easy!

Hurlgoathiker...I am sorry if you have already answered this, but, what have you been doing with your food at night? Thank you!
I always just sleep with it, everyone did that I was hiking with .
Thank you. Thought that was the case. Did that on the CT as well?

I'd have been tempted to search the town for a bacon sandwich tree.
