I left that paradise in 1985 and thought about the beauty and creativity every day for the following five years, and if I did not have so many books, pianos and synths, I would return in a flash if I could afford to live there now.... Miss it tremendously and talk about it every chance I get....and will always remember....
I lived there at the same time Leaving around 1984. Came back to visit friends frequently for many years. Fond memories as well. You’re right it is a paradise or was a paradise.
@@AHM-qs8jy Could not find adequate work after 2 years. It is quite expensive to live this near to the beach, but I happened to find a converted Double-wide on an acre of land on a dead-end street where it is quite peaceful and quiet. But, after forty years the beauty of the Ashland area is always on my mind. And yet, I am quite content and happy here, and we have great bike paths which try to ride 10 miles a day which keeps my 78 years quite young. Thanks for the reply . Charis

This video started and I started balling like a little girl. I was born in Medford and grew up in Ashland. I come home to visit every chance I have. I REALLY miss my home. I live in Arkansas now which is SO MUCH cheaper than Southern Oregon but I'd move back in a heartbeat. I'd have to win the lottery (which I don't play) to be able to afford a house. I'm hoping to visit in June. My mom, one brother, and a sister still live there.
I lived there in '75. The one thing I remember most about Ashland was the hippy scene. It was the 70's everyone slept around. I don't think I had that much sex in my entire life. This was before big tech (no internet, no cell phone, no TV.) All I did was get high and have sex.
