I have lived near the corner of Sweetwater and Cave Creek Rd for 15 months. I have read that it is one of the most dangerous intersections in the valley. I can hear the cars and motorcycles speeding in the middle of the night when the sound seems to travel more. There have been a few fatal accidents in that 15 months. Accidents that have closed the intersection for an entire day for investigations. What I have yet to see is anything being done to slow this down. I have never seen police using radar and pulling people over. I haven't seen those portable speed limit radar signs like they have in other areas that show drivers their speed limits and telling them to slow down. I have seen nothing in 15 months of living there to mitigate the amount of accidents. Nothing.
I have driven the speed limit & I have been stopped for “impeding” the flow of traffic. So, if everyone is driving 75 mph & the speed limit is 55, I have no choice but to drive 75 mph or get run over!! 🤷🏼♀️ So what’s the answer??
I live by Bell road omg they speed and bumper hug non-stop, I see so many take chances. Pull out right in front of you when there is no traffic behind you is like there Blind. I never see any cops around do they Hide ?
Long stretches?? Maybe on the outskirts. BELL Rd literally has lights every 1/8th mile from 51st Ave West. AND....you will stop at EVERY one of them. I used to go from Litchfield Rd to 7th St on Bell and maybe stop at 43rd ave. That was early 80s. Even coming into valley from Globe you have have to stop damn near every 1/2 mile on 60. Lay the blame where it belongs...at the hands of the stupid people that just had to move here and bring their BAD driving habits with them.
It is so dangerous here because they allow U turns, bikers riding in bike lanes on busy roads and police are never around to do anything about speeding and light running. Iy's basically a free for all. Lawmakers need to do something!!
“Money grabs”? There’s a simple way to avoid those “money grabs”. People just lack self-control these days. Every action is based on feelings and not logic.
The absolute worst freeway I have ever driven on(and this includes I-5 and other freeways across the river in CA)is I-10 between Buckeye and the river/border. Truck drivers are the major problem, too many dumbasses and not enough professional drivers. PHX metro is also kind of nuts to drive in, but is easier than L.A. area or Vegas by far.
I drive a schoolbus in Gilbert and I can confirm. We see an average of four accidents a day. Not too mention angry, aggressive drivers. The students on the bus just witnessed an aggressive driver right outside highschool the other day. The guy was going mental. Right outside the school in his big pickup truck. 🥸

go with the flow of traffic. If you are driving slow, then move over to the right. Also, don't camp in the far left lane. Simple enough for ya?

It’s scary to drive here. More accidents every day. They need to put up speed and red light cameras everywhere.
AZ tried that already, didn't work out. Cameras met untimely demises.

Too many selfish, self centered drivers.
