I bought a Martin Special 16 Style Rosewood Acoustic/Electric in September 2020. The D16E It is one of Martin's Newer models. It was 1699.99. It's ALL wood, MADE at the Nazareth Pennsylvania Factory. MADE IN THE U.S.A.! A Gloss Sitka Spruce top, Satin East Indian Rosewood Back and Sides. Martin & Co. branded tuners, a Mahogany neck, Ebony Fretboard and Bridge, Bone Nut, Mother-Of-Pearl Fret Dots, a Tusq saddle and a Faux Tortoise Shell Pick Guard. It also comes with Fishman Matrix VT ENHANCE Acoustic guitar pick-up and pre-amp. And of course a very very nice premium thick padded gig-bag. Ive played guitar for 10 years with my Ibanez ArtWood and the D16e is my first Martin & Co. and it is literally EVERYTHING I could ever have asked for and more. I think its one of the best guitars ANY player could possibly buy and its for LIFE...I would HIGHLY recommend it.
I have had my D16E for over a year now, great guitar, does everything I ask. I play outside a lot so I need the electronics. Small size (body width) feels right. My top has a big bearclaw. I have spoken to other D16E owners with the same claw mark on top. I recently bought a Yamaha FGX5. I was thinking I liked the FGX5 better at first. Now it is even. This says a lot as many say the FGX5 "better than a D28."
Martin's are some of the best guitars available and have been for a long long time. They are also the best guitars to use with a mic. They all project very very well. Sitka Spruce also produces a great sound and with everything else that came with your guitar it was well worth the 1600 however I would get a better case for it because gig bags don't protect all that well. Cheers to you my friend
It actually came out in 2019, but I just treated myself to a Martin D-28 Modern Deluxe for Christmas. Best Acoustic I have ever owned, or played, hands down.
They really are surprisingly great sounding and play pretty well too. My girlfriend introduced me to this bluegrass dude who she's known for years and thought I might like to collaborate with on some new music. Great musician and nice guy but turned out to be an unapologetic junkie who shoots H and speed daily with no thought about tomorrow. Anyway, he mainly plays banjo but his main 6 string guitar is the Jasmine model shown here. I was shocked at what a huge sound it had. I was even more shocked learn how inexpensive they are. I've purchased guitars that cost 20 times as much the Jasmine does but don't play or sound half as good. I think any player who strives for great acoustic guitar tone should purchase one of these. I've seen them for as little as $100 new and not more than 150 brand new. You really have nothing to lose just trying one out. They even have a jumbo model, which is the style of acoustic guitar that I prefer, and it sounds and plays great as well. Made from slightly different woods but doesn't seem to affect the tone negatively.

My girlfriend bought me a Japanese guitar years ago. Unfortunately somebody stole it when I was playing a gig one night. The brand name as I remember was called Deon and the price was only 350 dollars. It came with a brass nut and saddle which was great for sustaining the notes I played on the guitar. Also the harmonics were perfect on it. The strings were low on the fretboard so it was easier to play than most guitar's in that price range. I was sooo disappointed when it was stolen because I couldn't find another one like it and that it was a birthday present too.
