- Adjustable Ultra Flapper Install by Korky | www.korky.com/f...
Hello and Welcome to Korky Toilet Repair.
Today we are going to install your Korky Ultra saver flapper.
The first step is to shut off the water supply to your toilet.
Next flush your toilet.
Several popular toilet models are printed on back of the packaging.
If your toilet model number appears on the card, adjust the band and dial to the settings listed on the packaging.
The toilet brand can usually be found between the toilet seat and the tank. Toilet model numbers are often stamped on the inside back wall of the tank.
If your toilet model is listed and you have adjusted the band and dial to the correct positions you will not need to adjust the flapper further.
If your toilet model is not listed, mark the water level in the tank with a pencil and drain the excess water.
Remove the old flapper.
Install the Korky Ultra Saver Flapper.
Attach the flapper ears to the tabs of the flush valve.
Attach the flapper chain to the flush lever with minimal slack.
Turn the water supply on and wait for the tank to fill completely.
Turn the water supply off and flush.
If the water drops within a half inch of the pencil mark your installation is finished.
If not, rotate the red band to the open position and reinstall the flapper.
Turn the water supply on and let the tank refill completely.
Turn the water supply off and flush.
If your water level is still not within a half inch of the pencil mark, adjust the dial so the next lowest number aligns with the arrow.
Then reinstall your flapper.
Turn the water supply on and let the tank refill completely.
Turn your water supply off and flush.
Repeat this process until the water level drops within a half inch of the pencil mark.
Your installation is now complete.
Congratulations you have just installed your Korky Ultra Saver Flapper.
Thank you for choosing Korky.

I am a female senior that never did this before. THANK YOU! Easy peesy.
Korky, there needs to be a little better video explaining how this is helping save water when using band B. I truly cannot see the difference when flushing
I just installed the flapper from korky... It is outstanding and solved my flushing problems. My toilet did not flush completely unless I had to hold the toilet handle down until it completely flush. Now... I don't have to hold the handle down any longer. Thank God for Korky...... Thanks!
I have the same issue and I cant figure out why. I bought one of these but changing the dial doesnt do much of anything. The flapper seems to go down immediately and I cant get a flush that lasts long
@@maddenscrubs4409 You need to use a floater in that case
Hi Korky reps! I noticed you're a bit responsive here. It didn't work for me. The toilet was leaking after I installed this product and it re-filled every so often. It wasn't the seal, since the original one worked fine (it was an elastic band to the flapper that broke on the last one). I was pretty confident I could not return it, so I drilled a hole in the old one at attached the metal chain from the Korky flapper to the old one. Works fine now 👍!
What exactly is happening when you make the two adjustments on the flapper - opening the large hole on the bottom or the smaller holes on the top? How does this change how much water goes to the bowl?
Great question! By turning either of the bands on the underside of the flapper, you are adjusting the buoyancy. If you close off all the holes, air is trapped inside the cone allowing it to float longer - Ultimately, flushing more water. By opening up/exposing more holes, the flapper will close quicker and flush less water. If you have additional questions or want installation assistance, we are here and happy to help! Please dial 1-800-528-3553 or email us at sales@lavelle.com. We are available Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM CST.
the best cuestión ever
I have an Eljer model 141-0220 mfg around 2003 or before. I closed the outer ring so the hole is blocked. I have the setting on the dial at 6. I tried moving it down to get less water going into the bowl but it didn’t seem to matter which number it was on it flushed pretty much the same. Is this the correct setting? I know the hole on the outer ring must be closed though otherwise it just keeps running.
I installed this today and had to use a floater. With my Briggs toilet, none of the dial settings provided enough buoyancy to get a full flush with a turn of the handle.
Installed this and seems to work fine so far. But i had a question. if your old flapper kinda sucked and not sure about if its settings were even correct... Should we still mark off the water level with the old flapper? Maybe some alternate steps would be nice if don't want to trust that flapper.
Ultimately, it's about how you feel about the amount of water being flushed. If you would like to match your toilet's original performance by gallons per flush, or would like to flush more or less water, the flapper is super easy to adjust. If you are happy with how your toilet is currently working, your install is done :)
@@KorkyToiletRepair can you clarify what settings are using more water and what are using less? I thought opening the ring to the hole and using the highest number value would use the most water, but in the video you show water level dropping i.e. using MORE water when you go to a lower number.
@@ScienceBitch123 As you open more holes, the flapper flushes less water as it closes quicker.
Band B is almost impossible to rotate. It is extremely stiff.
Are you able to contact our Tech Support team? We would love the opportunity to learn more and get your new flapper adjusted properly. Please call 1-800-528-3553 - we are available Monday through Friday 7:30AM to 5:30PM.
Wasn’t sure if I was weak or they had the hulk demonstrate but it literally doesn’t turn at all 😂
great product
Nice watch.
Band B on my brand new flapper doesn’t turn at all. I’m trying to move it to the open position but it’s locked in place. So I don’t know if turning the smaller dial will help or not. Every setting 1-6 that I try I get the same result, which is I have to hold the handle until I get a good flush
Let us help you fix the problem. If it appears as though your flapper is closing too quickly and not allowing enough water to rush into the bowl. There are a couple of adjustments we can make to ensure the flapper is optimized for your toilet. Please make sure the flapper chain is going as straight up and down as possible from the flush lever and has minimal slack. Additionally, there is a red dial on the top of the flapper cone with numbers from 1 to 6 with different size openings. By decreasing the size of the hole, the flapper will stay afloat longer. If you would prefer to walk through this over the phone, please call 262-763-2434 or email sales@lavelle.com to speak with our Technical Support team. We are available Monday Through Friday 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM CST. Your toilet repair kit has a 5 year warranty and we want to ensure your complete satisfaction.
@@KorkyToiletRepair Band B does not turn at all. Now the D dial works fine, however, I do not see a difference at all. Looks like band B is stuck, it does not let me turn it at all as shown in this video at 00:25 seconds. After speaking with rep Maribel on the phone, if your toilet is not listed on the back of the package than band B will not apply. It was a little confusing
@@KorkyToiletRepair I can’t change the size of the hole because I can’t move the B Band to get to the hole.

It. For YEARS, people have commented on your videos that the freakin band B DOESN’T TURN AT ALL! (Even though the instructions say to turn it to open the hole.) It’s been YEARS (check your videos’ comments), but you jokers can provide no fix or information other than to call an 800 number during the week. How about you actually fix the problem, or make a video showing people what they are supposedly doing wrong?
Ok, we had to replace our old flapper, which also was a fluid master, it had kept leaking for us, we decided to buy the flapper, it however keeps leaking no matter what we do, we don’t think it is actually flapper but rather what is around it as it is really rusty.
By the way did you remember me
I can’t right a star review till we fix this
In order for a flapper to seal completely, it needs a clean and debris-free surface on the flush valve. In your last comment, you mentioned you shopped at Lowe's. They sell a flush valve repair kit that may help your situation. It will help to make a new seal for your rusty flush valve. (www.lowes.com/pd/Korky-Flush-Valve-Assembly/3130209). If you have additional questions or feedback, don't hesitate to reach out. Please dial 1-800-528-3553 or email us at sales@lavelle.com. We are available Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM CST.
I bought one of these and it says to rotate to open hole.. only thing is, it won't rotate. This video shows it turning easily, mine won't budge.
Hold in your hand like in the video...use all five fingers to rotate with very little pressure...broke one before I figured this out!
right! it doesn't rotate!
The red band does not rotate. Now what?
Did you try throwing your purse at it?
My red band didn't rotate either. I had to pop the band off with a screwdriver and snap it back in in the correct position.
I had to force it. It moved very slowly.
Clearly many people are having problems turning the bottom ring. Customer service on here says, "Call us!". Obviously, Korky, this deserves addressing in a new video, or at least a better answer. Honestly, and unfortunately, I have more problems with stuff made in America than I should. Oddly enough, the best light bulbs I ever owned were made in Poland. Who'd have thought?
Try holding the flapper with an open palm (cone side up) and gently turn the band with your fingernail. Does that help? We have found that when it doesn't turn, we naturally want to grip it even harder. A light touch will allow the band to turn easily.
There is no need to shut off the water valve to replace your flapper. And if you have an old water valve you're begging for trouble.
One week ago I purchased one of yourquiet fill platinum complete kits installed as i have in other toilets, leaked around flapper. All you had to do was push down on flapper ever so slightly with your finger, would always stop leaking, most of the time would start back up again when you let off. Installed old flapper off old flush valve, worked better, but still if you let it sit all day (8hrs) it would drain tank. This past weekend installed complete new kit (korky), installed exact same way, so far this one is holding water but doesn't flush very good, not as good as the other one. Also trying to get valve on bottom side of flapper adjusted. Your instructions and the video are different then what the valve looks like. One of the adjustments isn't even there. I have installed different flush valves for different people and had no problems with any of them. Tried this one for my self, nothing but issues. All small issuesbut still having problems.

Will this flapper at a high adjustment number allow a mansfield alto 3173 to flush longer?
This is an easy fix, let us help! We recommend turning the band to the higher numbers located on the underside of the flapper (closing off the holes and allowing the flapper to float longer). Additionally, please make sure the flapper chain is going as straight up and down as possible from the flush lever and has minimal slack. If the chain has excess slack or is too tight, the flapper may not perform adequately. If you have additional questions or need further assistance with your installation, please call us at 1-800-528-3553. We are available Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM CST. how do I adjust the band? either it is really tight or stuck, or are you not supposed to adjust the band on the ultra high performance no. 100bp model?
Hi Ashley, thanks for your question! Depending on your toilet model, the band may or may not have to be adjusted. Are you able to contact our customer team? Yes, the band is adjustable. If you squeeze the band tightly, it will be difficult to rotate, as you may have observed. If you try to delicately rotate the band, it will spin freely. If lightly grasping the band doesn't allow it to turn, please give us a call and we will help to get your band adjusted. Please call 1-800-528-3553 - We are available Monday through Friday 7:30AM to 5:30PM.
After an aggravating session of trying a full range of gentle to brutal force I finally found the right technique. Grab the part of the flapper that has the chain (and only that part) with two fingers of your left hand. You can now use your right hand with gentle force to rotate the band. Please make this technique clear in your video.
Thanks Leo!! That is why I came t this video!! Couldn't get the band to move!
@@KorkyToiletRepair Doesn't work. It's impossible to rotate without pliers.

I installed this and now I have to hold the flush lever or the flap goes down immediately. Does this mean I need a different product? I have tank American Standard 4072
This is an easy fix, let us help! If you need to hold down your toilet handle to get a complete flush, we need to adjust the flapper to stay open a bit longer. This allows the toilet to properly and completely flush. This will prevent you from having to hold down your toilet handle. What if your old flapper is completely deteriorated and you can not make a reference mark of the water level after a flush to compare to.
Try installing the flapper in it's original setting out of the package. What if my water lever is slowly going down I feel like I tried every number and it either wont fill up quickly or ot fills up fast and slowly drains
Hi Timothy - If your toilet is slowly losing water, it is due to your flapper not seating properly on your flush valve. Here are a couple of tips: Take a paper towel or sponge and wipe off the flush valve where your flapper rests. Sometimes sediment will build up and create leak paths. Additionally, please ensure your flapper chain isn't too taut. If it is too tight, it will prevent the flapper from resting completely. If none of these solve your problem, please give us a call, we are here and happy to help! Please dial 1-800-528-3553 or email us at sales@lavelle.com. Only question I have is if my model number isn’t on the list am I using the adjustable dial flapper in the video or am I getting the regular flapper with no dial ? Thanks
This particular toilet flapper is universal to fit most 2-Inch toilets. We listed just a handful of popular toilet models, not all of them.
Korky Toilet Repair thanks!
Will this work on a Gerber toilet?
If your flush valve measures 2 inches, yes, this will fit your Gerber toilet. If your flush valve measures 3 inches, you will need a large 3 inch flapper (www.korky.com/3060).
