F2004 on SLICKS Nordschleife World Record | Assetto Corsa + Setup

- This lap is using a mod available for the Kunos F2004, and it adds slick tires opposed to the grooved tires. The mod also adds several other chassis as well. This lap was done with the S-Spec trim. I did a sub 4 minute in the "A-Spec" trim in my most recent upload.
I did this lap about a month ago, and didn't plan on uploading it. But since I haven't had any time to get in the sim in a couple of weeks, I've decided to upload it. Hopefully soon, I will have some time to do some laps.

all F1 cars after the 90s (although the 1986 Lotus 98t, too) pass its gas in the floor above 300 km/h
Crazy to think that they gave these cars semislicks because they were too quick. And still even after that they still hold some records in f1. If they were given slicks, they would make absolute mincemeat of the modern f1's.

yeah... they had grooved tyres in the midst of a tyre war which produced the strongest tyres ever in f1 history. keep in mind that these modern cars are hampered by trash pirellis that disintegrate in several laps of pushing whereas tyres back in the v10 era could last an entire race.

@@javierfuentes1643 and how do we know that the grooved tyres weren't actually generating an equivalent amount of grip? because they are grooved correct, a tyre made in the same circumstances and tested in the same circumstances will reveal that the grooved tyre is has less grip but these are tyre war grooved tyres. it isn't equatable.

You can it takes a lot of work and dedication fr but once you get to this point its pretty simple you just know how the angle of the car drives and when the tyres are loaded with grip its all down to weight transfer

nope, modern f1 cars have more downforce and have more grip in the corners, what they lack compared to the F2004 is the smaller agile body compared with the much higher reving engine

Look up wheel and pedal reviews. This hobby runs extremely expensive, if you're looking for top of the line (wheel, wheelbase, seat pedals) you'll be out 3k+
@@overtheatlas you don't need top of line material to have fun and be just as fast. a lot of the top drivers online still use Logitech g29 or thrustmaster t300rs. which you can find for less than 200e in good condition.

Take it as this, higher end equipment has a slightly higher skill cap rather than lower quality items
@@overtheatlas what makes them help you learn more than a T300rs? some of the best drivers use T300 or cheaper. the only difference is higher force in the wheel but besides injuring wrists it doesn't help.

That f2004 is way too fast. Good video, but I would say realistically the f2004 would put in a lap time a little under 5 mins

I agree with you. I think the slicks would make it a little faster, but not this much.
@@dietpeachfantathe f2004 did not have the right weight and enough downforce to make 2021 slicks work in the right temperature windows. F2004 would perform way better with 2004 bridgestone than 2021 pirelli. This mod has completelly wring physics. Fun, but wrong

Does the time driven really seem realistic? The official lap record of 5:19 was beaten by Porsche and Timo Bernhard by almost 50 seconds with a time of 4:29. As a big motorsport fan, that would really interest me. The 2004 F1 cars were significantly lighter than today but the 2017-2021 F1 cars broke many lap records set by the 2004 cars in F1. The performance data of Porsche and Bernhard's LMP1 vehicle was very similar to an F1 from this period from 2017. So weight, power, acceleration, downforce and top speed. It seems a bit surreal in the game.
Honestly, we don't know. The 2004 F1 cars' major weakness is in the corners, where the modern heavy but gripper cars catch up. If that's mitigated by extremely grippy tires...

It wouldn't be 1 minute faster, for damn sure, but driving in a video game isn't the same as IRL. Conditions are much more unpredictable IRL and drivers also have a completely different mindset. The 919 Evo in theory should've been an EASY sub 5 minute car on the Nurburgring. I saw the onboard of it and there was toooons of corners where the car could've gone flat out or with a lot more speed and yet it was coasting massively.

Do you have any graphical mods? Because I set up my game to maximum graphic details and doesn't looks as good as yours.
No graphic mods. Just some stuff enabled in CSP, SKY PP filter, Pure weather, and I think that's it. I don't use reshade or anything.

Doesn't seem realistic to me. I suspect it would be quicker than the Porsche 919 but not by a minute, the speed through the first minute just looks wrong to me
jesus that is literally the fastest ever f1 car, in terms of acceleration and laptime, but not top speed, 222 mph, thats fast AF but the modern cars can go higher reaching near 230 mph in low drag trim, but then again the modern cars have drs and ers so its kinda unfair, but the whole point of the race is laptime and being as fast as possible around the track, cuz as we all know, this isn't IndyCar

Only thing...An F1 car can't drive through the bank of the carousels. The transitions are too abrupt.
Now do this in real life and then let Porsche make a car that goes under 4 mins.

Ok so this is a modded car not a real official one. Cuz you can’t do this with the original. And the original is already broken and doesn’t share anything with the real 2004. So this is a more broken version of a broken version essentially
there is no nordschleife in assetto corsa....
It is, it might be part of a DLC. I got the ultimate edition and the nordschleife is there.
