You overfilled because the car was jacked up on the passenger side too high, the fill bolt hole is the fluid level regulation port but to be accurate the vehicle needs to be level from side to side and front to rear (best on a professional hoist). Yes I'm nitpicking and yes you're fine with a little extra fluid. I just wanted to point that out. And thanks for including your kid, I missed out on a father-son relationship so it's really heartwarming and important to see such things. Thumbs up!

Angel, just did a transmission filter and fluid drain and refill on 02 Sienna. I am going to do like you said and drive for a month and drain again and refill. About 4 quarts came out. It had never been changed. 209K. It is shifting much better now. Can’t wait till I get 4 new quarts in there.

I taught my daughter at around the same age as your son.
Where was your cute daughter after seeing her bike?
    Nice video.
I usually leave the drain plug out & with a large pan under.
Then I lower the car down to level ground.
Wait until the excess fluid is out.
She then craw under the car to put in the bolt.
Then my little girl put in the bolt and tighten it down.

This is not motor oil is not burn so is not so critical. Did you see how clean it is?in manual transmission there is no heat like in an engine .clean oil is safe, burnt oil cancer.
