    I drained it out, put the plug and fluid back in, then while I was cleaning up I found the washer for the drain plug!

    We DIY mechanics need to remove the fill bolt first because getting it to a real mechanic when we fail is a lot easier with fluid still in the transmission.

      Or drive to the shop for penetrating oil. Its helps to spray it a few days in advance

    I’d like to keep my 1993 manual transmission with 258,567 miles running. It grinds Into R and slips out of first. New fluid and full in all necessary areas. Do I have to get a new truck or can I get it serviced or does it need replacement of gears?

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  2 года назад +3

      You can have the transmission removed and rebuilt for way way way less than a new truck. Thanks for watching!

    • @sasyanotec
      @sasyanotec Месяц назад +1

      If you replaced the clutch kit (grinding and slipping is most of the times relative to the clutch kit), and you still have those issues, that means you have a major problem

    • @mickeydi
      @mickeydi 4 месяца назад +2

      When you empty it you dont empty all the oil there will be some left that's why.
