This is the most straightforward and helpful video I've ever watched. Both of the pins had come out of my armrest and thanks to you I repaired it within five minutes using nothing but my fingers 💪💪❤️
Very helpful! I thought the hinge was actually broken before learning that the pins are known to come loose for no good reason. Fixed my loose armrest in just a few minutes!
Like some previous responders, I thought this would be costly until I saw your video and one by Daniel Buildz. I carefully used a butter knife to pry out the tabs and a small hammer to tap the pins in place. I am surprised the place where I purchased the Mazda 3 did not address this.
Thanks for the easy to follow advice. Both of my pins had come out. Before looking at your video i was thinking complete centre consul removal thank god it wasn't.
Thank you, very helpful. This was my problem on my 2015 Mazda 3 passenger side and it took around 3-4 minutes to fix. After cracking the top open with a plastic bondo spreader I used my finger nails to pull the cover away. I did notice it took some force to push the pin back into place so I am surprised it came all the way out.
Super helpful video. Please note that the armrest must be down when you reinsert the pins. Mine was up and wouldn’t close after I had reinserted the pins. I had to force it back down (thought I was going to break it in the process) because there was no way to remove the pins once I had put them back in!!!
You can reinsert the pins no matter how the armrest is positioned. You just have to align the holes first, in the correct position. Mine was up, because I was holding it to fit the holes, and it closes with no problems.
Thanks for the video. For the peeps who have the 2015 UK Mazda 6 which has vents in the console, the video still applies, may just need an extra shimmy and shake to remove the lid.
Thank you, I needed this video yesterday and thankfully, I found it today! Same thing happened on my 2015 mazda 3, but both pins were out. Easy fix, 20 seconds.
I just bought a 2014 mazda3, and this part is loose. Thank you, this is very informative. I will try this, hopefully it's just the pin and not something broken 🙂
Hey… I need your help with the console mat in front of the gear shifter… I’m getting crazy trying to put it back, I removed it to clean it and know doesn’t fit 🤯
