First of all, thank you for making this video and posting it. It was a great help! I just completed this operation on my Mazda 6, and only had one problem. I learned that there are plastic pins on the bottom of the large rotary knob, and they can fall out if you invert the assembly before the screws are tightened. The second time through, it went really fast! Also, it would be good to note that all automotive connectors have latches that must be located before pulling the connector out.
Good video thanks. You missed removing the switches- careful use of a small jewellers screwdriver will enable the plastic tangs to be pushed in so the switches can be removed to clean
The base option of a Mazda has a headunit without a screen and commander knob. Is it possible to install this in a Mazda that does not have the media console and commander knob?
Hi I have a 2022 Mazda 6 Atenza sedan (Australia) I need to replace a USB port that is located inside armrest console on my car do you know how to remove it? It has the look of a plastic cover that can be prised up and out but I didn't want to try it before getting some info on it first. Any advice welcome?

The leather element is on pins. There shouldn't be a problem to remove that
